Does it have to be a trail centre? How about a weekend in the Peak District?

Yup, half the distance to get there and plenty of riding to keep you more than happy for the weekend if like rocky trails.

Mind arrived today – cant find a single thing wrong with them! Also came with the vault case too which I wasn’t expecting. Again, huge thanks to the OP 🙂

Yeah plently do-able – only problem part I can think of is a small section of 10m or so steep single track on the middle of day 2 (we did it over 3 days in the summer just gone).

I just bought from Formula K24s on a recommendation (currently have K18s). Got them for £160 from CRC. Option of 160 F/R and 180 F/R. Merlin price is £164 🙂

How’s this for a price – set of Hope Hoops Pro 2 on Stans Flow rim for £221?

Was going to say – thats a great price! managed to get mine for £248 from 18bikes 3 weeks ago and that was the cheapest I could find at the time.

Hmm looks interesting. Got in-laws down that way and never had the time to go out and explore the trails in that area. Might be an opportunity to do so without having to think too much about the route! Any info on applications?

    😆

well its all just arrived (within the 1 hour estimate time slot it showed on my online tracking I might add) and on first inspection all looks good to me! Not boxed (aftermarket as I expected), but all bubble wrapped up nicely in one large box with the associated leaflets/manuals.

£180. thats a steal in my book – v. happy

I had posted this question earlier in the week but got no response 🙁 . I found this post which refereed to the Blue Pig and took it as being the same for my mmmBop.

Doesn’t matter at all. Either will be fine. Personally I’m a big fan of the SLX compact style front mech (which comes, as far as I remember) in both versions.

Above extracted from thread linked – I went for the ‘compact’ style mech brant mentions on that page – its dual pull anyway (first option on the german site!)

I ordered the SLX 10sp groupset you linked above on Tuesday evening. The tracking states that the item is out for delivery today, so fingers crossed I should receive it any time soon. Communication has been good, have been informed when item was ready for dispatch, when it was collected, and at what depts it has been to on its journey to me 🙂

No tax issues as we are all part of the EU – you only pay the VAT applicable to that country – 19% in Germany, included in the price.

Will let me know when it gets here!

Mines been fantastic for the last 2+ years we have had it – pay for 16meg, average 14meg – even in ‘peak’ times – live in a city centre flat though – but all flats have sky tv access for likely that sky BB might be used by others locally.

Ah ha – yeah that was us – we discovered that they are trying to save the planet and have removed the hose pipe and replaced it with 2 small buckets – think I will have to try to remember to bring the dirtworker with me from now on.

Think I might be confusing roman road with – it was the descent from win hill down towards hope cross that eventually ends up on the potato alley descent – too bloomin windy 🙁

At fairholmes about 1:15ish? Was 2 of us having a cuppa and washing bikes next to a group who had prevously kindly held the gate open for us at the bittom of the screaming mile descent before heading back to fairholmes. Think one may of been on a black cotic soul!

Think we might of all been at fairholmes at the same time! Saw a couple of guys on big dh trek bike and a orange blood turn up as we were leaving. Got mightly annoyed at wind going down roman road to hope cross – it was brining me to a stand still when trying to roll down!

Gets pretty fast at the end as you run into Dore as far as I remember -watch out for the waterbars! Did a good route incorporating blacka moor, houndkirck (sp?) road and stanage edge – quite alot of road spinning thoough 🙁

Not sure on individual wheel price but I think you can get a pair for about £235.

Just had a look – its £250 for a pair at the moment. I have just taken delivery of a pair from 18bikes including stans rim tape + valves and some sealant for £248 – might be worth seeing if they can do anything for you?

In my experience I wouldn’t bother. Mine fell to bits on the second ride. Back to Mavic for me.

Really hope this isn’t the case after just buying some 😮

The thought of finishing my 7th year at uni and actually having some time to myself outside of working hours to go riding! Looking at planning a multi day ride similar to the trans camvbian ride we did this year.

Im guessing the singletrack calender that comes with issue 62 isn’t up to scratch? 🙂 paper chase always seem expensive – got a calender club or similar near you? Failing that, use some sort of online planner so you can always gain access when out and about?

The above have an open bottom with big velcro strap that runs under the sole of the shoe. I used these with my flats last winter before making the swap to SPD’s.

    Check on sizing though.

Unless the work you can provide for the interviews comply with the RIBA guidelines and demonstrates all criteria (which it may) I suggest the same as aP above.

A girl at my practice came with a degree from abroad that was not recognised my the RIBA – she applied for an interview with the RIBA and the work to get her portfolio from the previous degree up to standard was considerable.

What is the relevant design degree? I’m sure a technology related degree such as ADTP or similar can be turned into a Part 1 qualification quite easily.

I’m about to do my part 3 – its been a long 7 years up to this point 🙂

Hmm was hoping two on the bars and one helmet mounted would do me for after dark trips – maybe not now 🙁

Any chance someone can post a picture of the beam(s)? Perhaps zigzag69 would be so kind with his 2 bar mounted set up? 🙂

Good luck if you are thinking for this weekend – I tried over 10 places in the Dark Peak for a one night stay and all either said they are full or would only accept 2 nights minimum.

Fieldhead did say that if we turned up on the Sat morning there may be a small chance that they could accommodate us. Might be an option for you.

trailmonkey – thank you very much – looks good.

As it will be first time riding the routes when I go down, does anyone know of any groups that head out during the week/early weekday evenings? Would be looking w/c 23/08
