The Garmin “discount” appears no better than the public site.

When I worked in mortgages for a bank we could have sorted this in minutes, and that was 20 years ago. They can sort this if they want to.

I’d mail the CEO and then visit the branch

This country isn’t socialist and never will be….to have any hope of getting elected then Labour needs to capture the middle ground. that might not sit well with some on here but if you truly believe Starmer is no better than Johnson then there’s no hope for Labour.

The problem is that her supporters will probably agree with the language…but it will put some waverers off, and Labour needs all those waverers if it’s ever to form a government.

I really hope we never live in a world where pensioners on modest pensions are forced to surrender, against FCA advice, their benefits to pay a wealth tax. To my mind that is targeting exactly the wrong people, not to mention the impact the mass forced sales of assets would have on share prices and the economy. I’m not against higher taxes to fund public services but surely better to tax his estate.

Brian has no access to the capital and most final salary schemes are already in deficit. How is he to pay a wealth tax when earning 20k income. Much better to tax his estate and let him live in peace. We need to start taxing the dead, not the living!

    Why is immigration a problem?
According to your comments on the other thread you believe anyone vaccinated will be dead soon anyway. Who’s going to do all the work?

We have the 1.5 Tiguan petrol. Previously had an old rav4 diesel. Our mileage profile suited petrol but finding it better in almost every way and wouldn’t go back to diesel. Mileage might be a bit worse than the petrol but it’s not that bad. I suspect diesel will depreciate faster as well.

It’s clothes. Wear it, don’t wear it…each to To their own. But if you judge someone for what they wear, or the bike they ride, then it’s you that’s the knobber , not them.

I have a bremont mb2. Curious as to how anyone would consider it overproced shite….never regretted it for a second and never found anyone else wearing one….unlike more “common” watches.

On the bright side all the outers who complained about the foreigners stealing ‘our jobs’ will presumably now find gainful employment picking crops….(other manual low paid jobs are available)….

I like watches, some of you don’t. That’s perfectly ok, I get it. I don’t judge anyone by the watch they wear, some of you haters clearly do…..it’s just a watch, take a chill pill.

    Happy new year.

Wow, haters gonna hate. Confession, I have a nice watch, although not AP money. British made, employing british workers and paying uk tax. When I bought it vat went to the govt. Some on here would see them all out of work. Maybe we should close all the rolex, omega and other fancy watch emporia whilst we’re at it. What about the porsche, Ferrari, rolls-Royce showrooms too. No one needs a boat, so let’s close all the yacht showrooms and marinas too. no one needs a £5k bike so let’s ban the sale of expensive bikes, they’re just showing off….the list goes on.

my cash is very hard earned, I’m not rich but I’ll spend my money how I like thanks. In my case that’s an 8 year old car 5 year old bike, and yes a nice watch, which is well engineered, looks great and to me is better investment on my wrist than the money sat in the bank earning no interest. Get over it.

Our HR department. In fact anyone who works in HR anywhere(apologies if that’s anyone on here!), never met one who wouldn’t sell their granny down the river to get on.

Wouldn’t pay full price, but all their stuff I’ve had has been faultless. I’d hang on just now though, their annual survey usually comes out around now which normally gives 20% discount code on completion.

I don’t consider myself to be Tory by any means, but every time in my lifetime that labour has been in power they’ve left the country in a mess. Brown & Blair, spent billions on tax credits buying middle class votes, subsidising scrooge employers and getting people hooked on state handouts.. it was Brown that put vat on gas and electricity – fuel poverty anyone? It was Brown that robbed billions from pension funds making us all poorer. They then took us to a needless war and gave us public private initiative that will take decades to pay off. All this whilst borrowing beyond our means.
I don’t like much of what the Tories do but I’d take them over Ed Balls any day.

A working doctor is not the same as running off to a tax haven

I wasn’t saying it was, hence the ? I’m just curious as to where you think we should draw the line.

So Is anyone that leaves the uk a parasite, or just successful people? A doctor that trains at the expense of the uk then goes overseas to help refugees?. Or are we just anti rich people leaving, at what £ do we set the bar? Lewis has worked hard and been successful, yes he’s overpaid but that’s the market. He should get to lives where he wants.

HR are there to get the most out of you for the least outlay. If that means screwing you over, well I think most of them see that as a perk of the job. They are generally a horrid, incompetent, nasty bunch. That said, I should be thankful because their incompetence meant that I got an extra £350 pay rise this week because they couldn’t get the sums right on my promotion. 🙂

current bike is 52 colnago ace with 115mm stem, colnago sizing is a bit strange so it’s really a 56. The current top tube length makes me medium but head tube much taller than the canyon. I was thinking large canyon with maybe 100mm stem.

Was there last year, via Hong kong on way out and kl return. Stayed in beach hotel in kota Kinabalu. Had a week in Kota which was enough, did the orangutang sanctuary and chilled on the beach. Highlight without doubt was days white water rafting on the Padas river with Riverbug adventures. Great Indian restaurant in Kota on the seafront plaza too.

Got stuck in Bangkok a few years ago when anti-govt protestors occupied the airport. Thai govt put us up for free in a
4 star hotel for a week whilst the airport reopened and work gave me the extra week off – result!
