never trust a single word that comes out of an estate agent’s mouth, they are working for the seller, generally on a commission basis so they want to get the maximum price they can and will spin all kinds of lies to achieve this. Offer what you think it’s worth, not what you think might please the seller

I’ve got the Metal Bike Shed for 29ers which is supposed to hold 4 but is a faff to get my 3 29ers and a 700cc bike with narrow bars in. Similar to tents, it is probably best to size up by 1 of the claimed capacity otherwise it is a tight squeeze

most of articles I have read recommend a kidney shaped pond as corners cause issues with flow of water e.g. https://anypond.com/pond-shapes/

Donated as know how much pets mean to people – a few years ago we had 2 male cats who were brothers and not insured, one had an over-active thyroid and was losing weight rapidly and the medication (about £90 a month and very difficult to administer the pills orally) wasn’t working so after about a year so we opted for radiotherapy thyroid op which meant he was away for about 4 weeks, successfully cured him and he lasted another 5 years, cost around £2k. Soon after his return we discovered his brother had same thyroid issue and was also diagnosed as having Feline HIV (expected to have been picked up from fighting as was neutered) so rather than waste time on meds he had the op too, and lived another 4 years. We were fortunate to have the £5k in savings, but was worth every penny. The replacement cats we got are insured although reading the t&cs it doesn’t actually cover much if they had similar thyroid issues.

went to see And you will know us by the trail of the dead last week and loved the Canadian support band Alex Henry Foster and the Long Shadows, bought their cd at merchandise desk and after chatting to them found out they were in another band who supported Trail of the Dead in London 5 years ago called Your Favorite Enemies – got home and discovered I had bought Your Favorite Enemies “Between illness and migration” album back then and it is brilliant as is the Alex Henry Foster and the Long Shadows album

As a Labour Party member, an unlikely but dream scenario for me would be Labour merging with the Green Party ..lots of similar policies and Green policies are increasingly becoming a vote winner particularly amongst the younger voters.

    To help facilitate this…

1)Force Sadiq Khan to stand down from 2020 London mayoral elections and get behind Siân Berry. Siân will be getting my vote already.

    2) Give Caroline Lucas a prominent shadow cabinet post, to me she has great future leadership potential too.

The Greens did only get 865k votes in the General election but many don’t vote for them due to them not realistically being capable of winning a seat outside of Brighton, many of whom apparently vote Lib Dem instead.

Kier Starmer is impressive but is probably too dry for the electorate, a cert for a top Cabinet post though. Is the country ready for a non-white P.M. ?I’m a big fan of Clive Lewis. Dan Jarvis could be a real crowd pleaser but only really outside of the current more left of centre membership.

Two of my mates can’t ride bikes, one is 49, other is 52 – both brought up in inner-city council flats in London and Glasgow retrospectively, the London one can’t drive either but the Glaswegian is a taxi driver.

My wife can barely ride a bike – seems incapable of anything other than riding slowly in a straightish line on flat ground – she feels obliged to stop dead on corners and even the smallest bump or kerb she believes merits a full dismount.

seems very likely to me that the main character will be Boba Fett as he didn’t actually die according to below link, maybe his nickname is “The Mandolorian” as he is wearing Mandolorian armour, it does look like a western, with Boba portraying a similar character to Clint Eastwood’s ‘man with no name’ in Sergio Leone’s ‘Dollars trilogy’

Disney makes it official that Boba Fett survived the Sarlacc in Return of the Jedi

“Live in Concert”. The BBC used to have a regular late night programme in the mid 1980s where they showed about 50 mins of a band live. These days the BBC appears to squander it’s entire music tv budget on extensive and frequently repeated Glastonbury coverage and the unbearably smug Jools Holland’s programme.

for less than half you budget – Amazon Fire – bought one to use as a kindle, broke screen on ipad so used Amazon Fire as tablet until I could get around to getting screen fixed, never bothered getting ipad fixed as Fire was more than adequate for my needs.

I echo all what TheBrick said – having a longer commute will save a great deal of money. South East London in particular is still relatively cheap and due to Crossrail not getting completed on time there is a significant amount of surplus accommodation available.

House shares are invariably much cheaper than one bedroom flats – Has your son not got any friends who are Students in London that he could share a house for the year? that is usually the cheapest option

Looks like what I am after – something reasonably similar to the Pinnacle Ramin 3+ but in steel – 29er/650B+ compatible, lots of bottle bosses on frame and fork. EBB would be nice.

terrible news – my deepest sympathies to Mark’s friends and family – a truly inspirational and lovely man who I met last summer when I bought a singlespeed Inbred off him just before he went on holiday and climbed Ventoux. Was only thinking about him today when I picked up his old Inbred from my LBS after me wimping out and getting gears added. R.I.P. Mark

sorry about your Dad, but there is no dilemma here – cancel your holiday, you will need to support your mum whether he is still alive or not by then. Maybe look at taking your mum away with you later in the year.

I was annoyed last year when I paid LBS for a full service which involved stripping the bike and asked them to additionally swap the suspension forks for a set of rigid forks and got billed an extra £25 to do so.
