Wow, didn’t expect that response, although in hindsight….

Yes I’ve tried it, several types and times. It’s stretching and breathing exercises in a group environment. Not at all worthless but I’ve progressed far more quickly and efficiently by using my own set of mob and stretching exercises.

Not sure where I’ve insulted said grannies, maybe you could enlighten me?

    Slightly harsh but true.

If you suffer from tight hammies then do lots of mob and stretching exercises for them. Plenty will cross over into the yoga field, but less grannies in leggings in a church hall, and a more productive use of your time.

Depends how expensive the expensive bits are, how cheap the cheap bits are, and how much you can ride your bike.

Someone like CA clearly rides their bike nowhere near enough for the equation to come out cheaper, your situation may well be different.

Whole bike. Wear is going to be on the drive train as much as your fancy wheels. Just put solid basic kit on there and train away.

Also, It might be the odd % slower but the training effect will be the same.

    Pure one mini for me.

Great sound, small, solidly made and a line in for a media player/phone, etc.

I’m also in need of some slim fit shirts. The tm lewin slim fit ones really aren’t, but the fully fitted ones are better.

What are the Charles tyrwhitt extra slim ones like, anyone know?

The first 2 out of your 3 meals are sugar and refined grain based.

    Enough said!

Eggs with peppers/broc /shrooms/bacon/whatever for brekky.

    Meat/fish and veg lunch.

    Same supper.

    Done.

I’m teetotal and notice the same thing.

Combo of high sugar and caffeine drinks causing a massive crash and poor quality sleep imo. Water with a squeeze of lime or slimline tonic if you want to avoid constant why aren’t you drinking questions!

I think a lot of alcohol hangovers have this element to them. If/when I drink again it will probably be along the lines of a NorCal margarita [/url]

    +1 swap the levers over.

Choosing to do most of your braking with your rear wheel only seems a strange solution I’m afraid. Couple of rides and it will become 2nd nature.

    I’m with you tinsy.

Spare tube, hanger, cable ties, multi tool with splitter, chain links, levers, cable ties, tape, Park tools patches, section of tyre, led rear light, etc in a very small saddle bag + bottle cage on frame. It would be more of a faff to take it off to go riding.

    I also live in Withington.

There’s very little locally, although if you fancy a pootle along the mersey then head up Burton Rd through West Didsbury and turn right onto Barlow Moor Road, then second left onto Darley Avenue. Bingo.

Get in the car direct, or short ride along the transpennine (path out the back of Sainsburys fallowfield) to North Reddish station and the peaks are yours to explore.

Beyond that it’s a friend to ride and guide, a good guide book (how I did it, feel free to borrow), or the Internet (already on it).

I had a similar issue, so asked a dentist friend and he recommended crest supreme strips.

Once a day for two weeks and they look great,I get complimented on them all the time. Not stupid white, and to be fair you can see the result after each time you use them. I had very little sensitivity issues.

Other strips probably do the same job, but I’ve used these ones and they were well worth it.

A far better natural choice than the industrially produced seed oils, so yes it’s “in”.

Yeah, I know I want the moon on a stick, but I’ll take the best potential option if it works well!

Eagle creek it is then in a courier bag so it can stay flat.

Thanks chaps. Internet forum advice at its best.

For me money speaks, especially on the classifieds where there can be a bit of messing around with commitment to buy.

It falls on both sides though. The seller should say something along the lines of “yes I accept that offer, but the item will remain openly for sale until I receive the funds”

The buyer should accept this is the case, and if they have the ability to read the classified forum on their phone/tablet/computer then they should have the ability to pay immediately to avoid disappointment.

If sellers accept offers without immediate payment, and buyers delay payment after agreeing to buy then there’s going to be a few times when it goes wrong. People have different timescale expectations, just get it done straightaway in my opinion.

I’ve already got a few hundred quid of shirts, so not an option I’m looking at I’m afraid.

Also as much as the creases dropping out of non iron shirts, they never exactly look pressed and sharp.

Just Googled the shirt shuttle. Looks like a good idea but not the best for bigger shirts (44 inch chest, 35 inch arms) from the reviews on Amazon – which also aren’t the most +ve….

I’ve tried the fold and be careful method, but still get very noticeable creases. I wear plain but quite thick cotton shirts which I don’t think helps…..

Consuming the right fats, carbs and protein after exercise will help you recover faster and better.

Whether you do this with “real” food or supplement style nutrition is your choice. Whole food is preferable, but the right supplements are very good.

Whey protein is simply a powder made from milk with a high standard percentage of protein in. It’s often however mixed into supplement mixes with all sorts of other guff in. It can also be cheaper, quicker and more convenient which is why I use it.

Couple of scoops of myprotein unflavoured impact whey, milk/almond milk, banana, berries. In a blender, less than 2 mins start to finish, tasty and nutritious.

It’s useful for me as I consume over 200g of protein a day.

Cannot look past whey here. Fantastic source of protein and he just needs to buy the bulk unflavoured impact whey from myprotein. Bung it in a blender with some milk, fruit, frozen berries, myprotein oats, etc. Huge amounts of lactose in whey if this is an issue… The more expensive isolate stuff has less, but still plenty.

Personally I wouldn’t go near soy. There’s plenty of arguments for and against but I’m happy with my T levels where they are and it’s easy to avoid for me being a meat eater.

A magic food for this chap is going to be eggs. Old school, proven, cheap, the saturated fat thing is a myth.

I’m a 93kg bloke so not the lightest and I’ve never broken a chain. Occasional wash, bit of lube, change it when it’s stretched.

Might be because I’m more of a spinner, might be because I’m lucky, maybe because I’m awesome.

Another vote for a basic miele. Brilliant power and will last forever.

Only downside is bags, but cheapo ebay ones work just as well and they are no effort to change.

If you’ve got that far and you don’t like it then don’t persevere. I’ve read it and it doesn’t get any better, and the sex scenes become repetitive. It also then ends on a boring and predictable attempt at a cliffhanger because it’s a trilogy.

I bought one of these Bosch efforts based purely on the reviews on Amazon.

I was a bit worried because it’s so light and actually feels like a kiddies play lawnmower, but I have to say it’s brilliant. No problem with power and cuts through long grass easily, and because it’s so light it’s no problem not being self powered as you can just chuck it about. In fact cuts better than the neighbours 300 quid petrol effort that I was borrowing before, and so much easier.

Only issues are the smaller than average grass box because of it’s size and the 10m cable. Just drag the green bin onto the lawn so you can empty it in easily a few times. Extension cable solves problem 2. My lawn is 6m x 23m.

    I’ve read it.

Terribly written even by chick lit standards. Poor character development which considering it’s character led doesn’t do it any favours. Sex scenes are the best bit, if not a bit repetitive. It’s also very much the first book in a trilogy so doesn’t really come to a conclusion but leaves you hanging not wanting more.

    Get your psychology right.

You’re not giving up for a month – you are choosing not to drink because of reasons X, Y, and Z. Write the reasons down and refer to them when you think you want a drink.

    Suit and no tie +1.

A shirt and tie without jacket just looks IT or office junior. Suit no tie looks smarter, sharper AND more relaxed.

Personally I would go for a plain grey or blue suit and quality white shirt.

I’ve bought some Rema Tip Top patches from Ebay. Seem to be genuine and spot on.

Not sure about going down the unbranded route here when it comes to cost saving vs potential hassle and worry.
