Might be a couple of muddy sections near Lymm, but they’ll only be short.

I’m very happy with IXS Flow. They stay put during a fall, very minimalist and don’t rub.

My TLD ones rubbed and don’t stay in place during a crash, and go saggy after a couple of months.

    Tabs?

I can’t vouch for the potentness of the Ruby. I found it in a corner of the freezer that’s new to me.

The question is – will Mrs Binners be lovingly delivering these forgotten items?

Anyone got a Spectral 2015 that the missus could kindly try out for size in the North West (Manchester)? She’s looking at a small/medium.

I feel for you mate. We’re going through similar with my dad at the minute. We also don’t think he’s being completely honest with us about his prognosis and is trying to ‘protect’ us. I now have permission to speak to his consultant directly. I’m pretty scared.

Me and my mates kids helped build the jumps in Priory Gardens. They soon get trashed really and could do with a bit of work.

Plenty of chavs about. Seen a fair few burnt out cars on the Bridleway under the pylons next to Kenworthy, and cars regularly get broken into on Fairy Lane as there’s an easy escape route across uni footy fields and the M60 into Northern Moor.

Scallies and locals are a different thing – I grew up on the Old Moat estate in Withington. Would be good to get the local yoot involved as much as possible.

I’ve ridden around here for 20+ years and also live about a mile away, so happy to get involved. There use to be a couple of jumps in Kenworthy, and some raised wooded sections in between Chorlton water park and the golf course a good few years ago. They seemed well built but got pulled down fairly quickly. My only concern would be local scallies preying on people and even vandalising hard work.

Switzerland for us in September around val d’anniviers. This will be our third time in three years and still finding new stuff. The buzz from researching and self-guiding your own rides is incredible.

Drum Mountain – from the cross roads just to the North. It’s over 2 miles of relentless ‘up’, some rocky sections to get worked up about in the bottom half, and then the track kicks up in the last third with added water-bars. It’s nearly always windy, but well worth it for the cracking views from the top. The track is then wide enough to race your mates back down on.

Start from Hope heading to the cafe at Fairholmes and doing a low level lap of Ladybower or Derwent reservoir.

Make sure she’s comfy in every way, decent fitting clothing and equipment.

If all goes well Mrs Pie is selling her sparkly Orange 5 diva 😀

Got my missus one of these in Raspberry Pink. Not hi-vis but seems bright enough and plenty waterproof.

What Jamie G says. Tony’s teaching technique is incredible. Because he keeps everything so simple, you never get overwhelmed or over analyze.

Missus wore hers for the first time on a soggy ride in North Wales yesterday. Rode from Llangollen over to Llandegla, did a lap, then back down Worlds End from the masts. It was wet all day and she stayed completely dry. She has some fancy Gore-Tex ones too, which are good but she prefers these as they aren’t as slippy against the saddle. I’ll be ordering a pair.

This months does seem particularly good. But of late theres been a lot less of the ‘this £3,500 frame seems slightly betterer than this other £3500 frame’ type article* that is surely totally irrelevant to most of us, and more of the ‘proper’, real side of mountain biking. The MegaAvaLaugh article really made me laugh.

Does this include driving to Brechfa for the weekend riding/walking the red, getting lost on a waymarked route, flouncing about, drinking a box of wine, lining the toilet with vimto coloured carrots and spuds and then sloping off home early Sunday while everyone goes riding. 😀

Near piccadilly? Sod all that poncey nonsense. Keep it real with 3 curries and rice for a fiver in the northern quarter. Best curry in town by a mile

+1 what the big fat flouncy mincer a.k.a. binners sez

If you ride the Marin Trail, there’s a cracking footpath right after Dragons Tail, which cuts off a huge chunk of the fire road descent.

Instead of crossing the tarmac lane which comes after Dragons tail, turn left up it and follow this for about half a mile until you see a FP sign on the right (right after a cottage). Through this. Along for about 100m, then left at the junction, then down all the way to the forest road staying left at the next couple of junctions.

E-mail if you need any further info.

I’ve got them, had them for 6 months, couple of light spills, still going strong. Very happy with em.

Wherever Binners’ lives it’s bound to be amazing. 😉 It’s all about the ‘BIker’ lifestyle, sat in the boozer with your skin tight spoke t-shirt, dreaming about Steak Bakes, riding your bike and spouting on about having an amazing LBS but never actually having a bike that works.

What dazh and nbt say is pretty spot on.

Have a look at house prices all around Manchester. There’s many factors that will influence these, some that may or may not be important to you.

One of the best bits about living in or around Manc is the access to other riding areas (N Wales, Lakes, Peaks, Yorkshire) in a relatively short drive.

I’ve also had my Alpine for just over 2 years also – it’s been fantastic. It’s fitted with a CCDB Air and originally I had some 170mm Lyrik forks but replaced them 6 months ago for some Pikes. LSC is spot-on, the fork stiffness is still there whilst being a bit lighter too. The bike is a superb allrounder and I really can’t imagine wanting owt else.

It’s been to the Alps twice and the Basque once, it does local XC rides and everything else in between, including getting up the road to the Rowen youth hostel on the Drum Mountain ride. It even climbs better than my Cotic BFe. The only downside for me is it’s weight. This means you’ll never be in first place on the climbs but it certainly keeps itself planted.

    What digga sez.

I’ve just gone from Superstar Nanos (and also have the mag ultralight) to a set of the DMR Vaults. The level of grip improvement is certainly noticeable. This is after trying the Hope f20 and selling pretty quickly.

Was running the Trail Extreme Smorg on the rear last Sunday at BPW and could feel it really squirming about on some of the fast blue berms when leant right over at speed. Got quite scary at some points. Probably a combination of things but i’d go for the enduro more rigid compound instead next time.

Was there last Saturday and was told about a number of closures by riders on the Whites Level descents, which weren’t even advertised at the Cafe.

We rode Penhydd, and Blade which were fully open.

Dunham Massey Brewery[/url] do firkins and kilderkins and provide the pumps too. Works out about a £1 a pint and needs to be drank on the same night 🙂

‘Ginger Rick’ is currently re-tensioning my Flow Ex’s on Hope Pro 2’s in prep for the Basque. Plenty of trips to the Alps/Wales/Peak/Lakes and these have ran completely true over the last 2 years. Had a number of spokes snap at bizarre moments, but I think they were built too tight to begin with, apart from that I can’t recommend them enough.
