My wife and i have a simple agreement, we split all the bills 50/50 and whatever i have left is mine to do what i want with. I have never understood the whole “oh no she’ll kill me for buying one of those” MTFU its your money

Had mine for a year and its been brilliant, i jet wash my bike after nearly every ride (sensibly) and give it a squirt of fork juice, i did have a hefty crash last year that bent the rails on my seat but it did my reverb no harm.
Like someone else said, you dont hear about the ones that work fine, you only hear the complaints.

Scott grenade pro 2’s, id say they are a close second to the pocs in terms of comfort but with a more protection

That makes no sense, you let the tyre down until it “felt” right?

Been having the same dilema myself, i think im going to buy garmins etrex 30, £200 looks like it should be brilliant for navigation but doesnt have all the heart rate and cadence stuff that im not interested in anyways.

    Some good help there, cheers.
Looking at the etrex model now as im not interested in the training stuff i just want a gps for pure navigation, also the fact that it takes AA batteries is a bonus as they will be easily available, and the rucksack tether looks a neat touch if i dont want the clutter on my bars, i can just reach for it when need be.

Do you create you own routes to follow or download other peoples? Id like to be able to find more trails.

Freedom of choice? I’ve been riding all my life, only recently started wearing a lid no reason for it other than hmmm maybe ill get a helmet, there is of course the age old argument that whilst wearing a helmet you are almost tricked into doing things more dangerous than you would without one, I raced motocross for a long time and coming home from that and going out on a bicycle I never felt it dangerous enough to warrant a lid. Everyone has their own perception of how dangerous any activity can be and it’s up to then to protect themselves accordingly, I’d happily ride the black stuff at Cannock without a lid, I feel I’m ok to do that and I have done in the past .

Had mine on for a couple of months now, shifting is lovely and it makes the rear end ever so quiet, love it

You have to remove the top cap and put it in there, I funnelled it into the bottom of the leg before putting the bolts in and tightening the legs up, when I turned the bike over and pushed down the seals blew out and the oil followed.

I’ve had the wall mounted on of those for a year now with no issues, paid £22 for mine I think

Present in all three rings? Maybe relace the cheapest ring and see if that ring goes quiet? I was seething with mine i couldnt believe id dropped all that cash and my bike sounded like a bag of spanners if only id test ridden it up the road first instead of driving an hour + to ride cannock, and then it pi$$ed it down for my entire ride haha i was ready to sell it and take up knitting by the time i got home

Sounds like the exact same problem ive just had, i run 1×10 and i had new xtr shifter, mech, cable, chain,xt cassette, and moved from an mrp mini g2 sl chain device to a ethirteen xcx top only guide my chainring was ever so slightly hooked and even the slightest bit of tension in the drive train meant it was lifting the chain up as far as it could, then as is was eventually dragged off and rearwards it was clicking like a ratchet sound like when your chain is trying to climb up to another cog on your cassette. Drove me mental, new chainring sorted it

I’m hoping so as I intend on putting some shimano ones out of an old mech in a sram x9 tonight can’t stand the thought of shelling out another £20+ for a pair of plastic cogs again atm

I use it religiously, serviced my fox floats for the first time in 18 months and they were immaculate inside, maybe it’s down to the spray maybe it’s not but its not expensive and lasts for AGES, new forks however can be very expensive, from what I know it’s got a higher percentage of better quality silicon in it compared to halfords silicon spray or glaziers equivalent

What is the correct term for a group of penises? And I bet they think they are hated because they can filter through the traffic and all the abuse comes from envious car drivers, WRONG it’s the being a penis thing

Cool I think I’m going to go with the xtr stuff, I’ve got enough in my secret little fund, I am curious to try the zee stuff when I build up a hardtail next year tho, I have heard good things about KMC chains but also herd they don’t like certain cleaning products is this true?

Just looking at the zee shadow plus mech, anybody got any input on those? My brain says xt but the 15 year old kid inside me that used to wish I could have the high end stuff is mighty strong!

Getonyourbke, how “waterproof” are the tevas? Does water from puddle splashes etc still come in under the laces?

Northwind, i definately like the look of the new 5:10 freeriders but was thinking of them as more of a summer shoe, how good is the graingers stuff, how often do you need to re-apply?.

I serviced mine for the first time not so long ago (fox floats), the most important lesson i learned was that just because the oil came OUT of that hole does not mean it can go back IN that hole. Other than that it was very easy.

Ovaltine? Sounds to good to be true, how long does it stay hot/warm/drinkable for?

Sparkling water! I would love to have seen that, my brother (new to mountainbiking) put some of that carbonated rockstar energy drink in, fairly amusing i just left him to it.

I also tried lucozade still when i had nothing else, FAR too sweet it was like drinking treacle, not refreshing at all.

I have owned my remedy for about 18 months now and I love it.
decends really well and climbs efficiently i feel i have to agree with continuity tho the rear shock is difficult to get the pressure right, i keep meaning to try the air volume tuning kit from mojo because that will apparently stop it blowing through its travel on the bigger hits. But as a whole i love my remedy
