Although it did teach me the difference between "too" and "to"

Touche, but you didn't notice that I had spelt sort wrong, I blame an old laptop with worn keyboard, nothing to do with being taught by the headteacher occasionally!

I did after all go to the schools everyday

    Ernie,
we used to get Saturday and Sunday off, what sot of school did you go too?

I've never known the head teacher of a secondary school to actually teach. What decade are you talking about ?

1980s, and now my kids at school are taught by the head, for the same reasons as Moses said, to get to know the children and also to keep his hand in.

I remember when schools had secretary's and head teachers taught, seems times have changed and they now need PAs., yup, it seems inflated to me.

Same deal with me, 2 years off due to a bad back. After an Op and I got the green light to start again, I used the HT, but that was a real pain. Convinced the missus that I needed FS, otherwise I'd be lying back on the floor again, she relented! Bought a Spec Stumpjumper FSR, which certainly eased the pain and let me get some miles in. 2 years later I hardly use the FSR, using the HT all the time, it sits in the back of the garage unloved! I feel guilty now for not using it more, but when you are fit again the HT is so much fun. Would recommend getting a FS, it takes quite a long time to build up the muscles in the lower back, just don't expect to use it all the time when you are fit!

+1 Backhander. It's nice to see the Army and the RN agree for a change

    The RAF agrees too! :D

Where you bullied by an Army Cadet as a child. Why the total disdain for the Army? Do you have the same beef for the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force?

    that remains to be seen

No, I have no sandles and I do not like brown rice, that is a fact…..

most of them would rather shoot me than allow me to do as I please

Yup, if you were doing something illegal/unlawful and their rules of engagement permitted otherwise they would let you go, this time……………

are you asking the right people after they've been trained to subservience ?

Can't remember that during my training, but then I do not eat brown rice, wear sandles and spout crap.

    agree with what monkeychild said.

The BGs were 44 and the Sidi's are 45, I have fairly narrow feet but would not recommend buying without trying a pair on, then you can buy them off the net!

    Name that rider

I can't see a rider in the picture, unless it is one of those clever hidden 3D things, and I never managed to see the hidden picture in them

Recently changed from BG Pro's to Sidi Dominator's. BG's fell apart after 2 years of 5-days a week use, so worth it. I've had the Sidi's for about a month now, agree about the sizing, they can be a little snug! Heel retention is better the the BG, so is the closure system of velcro/ratchet. Only down-side so far, they are quite awkward top walk in on the flat compared to the BG due to the different shaped sole, other than that I'm fairly happy that I have made a good choice, although should I reserve judgement for a few months…………

Germany doesn't seem to be involved in as many overseas military 'theatres' as the UK.

Talkemada, there are quite a few constitutional/political restrictions placed on the deployment of German Armed Forces that limit where/when they can deploy too, unlike British forces. It is something that came as a result of what happened in the 1940s …….

Had XP on my Samsung NC10 and got fed up with the speed etc. Got so fed up that I put Ubuntu on as the only OS and it is really quick. There are some functionality issues with it, like iPlayer, Google Earth etc. However there are some fantastic forums with some very clever people who appear to spend all day working out "frigs" to make it work. You do have the opportunity to run it alongside whichever MS OS you run, this is good as it allows you to compare the 2 systems.
Overall, I am greatly impressed with the OS and especially as it is free!

Looks really good, can I be rude and ask how much they charge, I've got a similar frame that could do with a fresh coat.

Yes you can if you are patient. Use an adjustable spanner, making sure the jaws are il/grease free and a fairly tight fit on the disc, gently tweak it back into shape. It takes time and should be done with the wheel in place. Keep rotating it back/forth, and have a gentle lever with the spanner, best to have a light touch and not too heavy handed. may take a while, especially if it is well out of shape. Good luck.

I have been using it for 3-4 months now and also am impressed with the speed and programmes that you can get from the download centre. I have it loaded on a laptop now and also a netbook, laptop is fine, but I have one or two issues with the netbook (Samsung NC10). The battery management does not work so that you can see what remaining battery life you have available when working off the mains, if you flatten the battery, despite plugging it in, it will not re-charge. Both are known issues with the Samsung. I am sure that some computer giant will be able to offer a solution, as long as I manage to ask the correct question in Google. Also, I cannot find any TV dongles that will work with it at present, but again If I ask the correct question I'll now doubt get help from the experts. Overall, I have no intention of going back to Windows again.

I'm assuming this would get eaten?

It depends how long you leave it on for, used the stuff for years now and never had any wheels eaten by it, does what it says on the tin.(placcy bottle).
