Stretch it by placing the affected leg in front but on the other side of you other leg (imagine a wanting to wee but holding it in) then lean over to the unaffected side.

Is the homebuyer’s part of the mortgage requirement BTW?

Last time I bought I just had to have a valuation.

Homebuyers survey isn’t part of a mortgage. they do their own ‘drive by the house to see if it’s standing’ valuation which you pay for generally. anything else surveyed is at your request and wont affect the mortgage offer.

Do not get a damp ‘specialist’ to do a survey. they will invariably recommend the most expensive remedial work possible for a problem that requires nothing more than a bit of ventialtion and warmth!

if you do get one in take their advice with a massive pinch of salt and always get a second opinion!

we got a full building survey and TBH it didn’t tell us anything we didn’t know already and I wished I’d have saved the money and got in some builders to have a look around.

you mean you don’t carry a spare mech with you on rides? A bit risky don’t you think?

Highclimber, the symptoms you describe are those you get with a sticky cable and are nothing to do with the hub, ie poor maintenance.

you’d have thought the guy in the shop would know that! still, we got our money back

I hired a bike with one on (8sp) and it constantly didn’t pick up and I nearly went over the bars on a number of times when it dropped out. would randomly select gears or not when I wanted it. Put me right off getting one. that said I liked it when it worked with instant pick up and being able to change gear without that horrible crunching you get with mech anf cassette and it was a hire bike after all though I was surprised that it happened given a lot of people rave about them

I’ve only recently discovered how to stop my computer from connecting to it when i’m at home! a major PITA! Why would you pay to access Wifi hotspots when you can generally find free ones in most independent coffe shops!

Exceptions will be when in the car and it’s on a motorway/dual carriageway and it really doesn’t matter – ok, occassionally minor roads which isn’t the best admittedly. Other than that, on site which will be cleaned/covered up anyway. I do try not to just flick them on pavements in towns/villages etc.

isn’t that what car ashtrays are for? get a grip man, it’s littering [Full Stop]

it’s because people think ,wrongly, that they are only cotton wool and paper when in reality they’re a synthetic material that doesn’t break down as quickly as people think they do.

It absolutely utterly annoys the shit out of me beyond reproach that people think they have the right to chuck them anywhere they feel fit.

just cancel the Direct debit and stop going. ignore all correspondence unless it has a magistrates stamp on it.

Though I doubt it would get to that stage

you might want to consult a solicitor regarding this. advice is generally free and will save you a lot of time and money in the long run

My dad used to do this to me and my mates when he spotted us walking near puddles

Now that is funny! Dads can be the biggest ****s going. I remember mine actually denied I existed when I rang reverse charges to get a lift home once. I could hear the operator talking to him and in order to get out of accepting the call and ultimately picking me up he actually said he didn’t have a son to the operator!! lol

was it 2nd hand when you bought it? would you expect it to break after three years? if no then get on to the place you bought it from. I think SOGA might be on your side here.

yeah, sounds like he’s trying it on unless his house is below ground level even in which case it would still be seen as an improvement rather than a repair.

I am assuming that the building is made form Stone with a lime render finish? if so then A DPC (horizontal injection type) is pointless and a waste of money. He’s trying it on. Tell him to whistle and jump for it!

When I was travelling around america we used to go into the Apple store to use their internet on flash computers! not as nice as sitting in a nice coffee house with a skinny-wet-choca-mocha-latte-frappacino but it’s free!

i’d be looking at the source of the condensation rather than masking it with a dehumidifier as this doesn’t solve the problem.
Do you dry your clothes indoors, is there enough ventilation? is there a damp problem from a loose slate etc. it’s will be cheaper in the long run to solve the problem than have a power hungry appliance running!

There are probably more cafes with ‘free’ wifi than hotspots and these cafe’s will generally charge you only for the coffee you’re drinking and they rarely change the WEP key so you can get on it the day after.

I personally wouldn’t pay for Wifi if I can get away with it.

dot and dab insulated boards isn’t as thermally efficent as 50mm of solid insulation with a PB over the top. I’m not looking for cheap or quick, just good thermal efficency.

    highclimber

yeah its quite flush. wouldn’t want to put a stud infront as I would have to include ventilation into the void at the back to avoid condensation which means holes in 220mm brick wall.

I don’t have a thermometer but my guess is its about 10 Deg. got the fire roaring but the room is huge and currently uninsulated.

Why on earth would someone jump overboard?

why on earth would you jump out of a burning building a la World Trade Centre people? if you think youre gonna die you do what you can to get out and unfortunately that can mean making rash life or death decisions which humans are inherently bad at doing!

i’m surprised you can insure a group with anyone. if one person has a pre-existing condition they will want to know about it and will charge you more on top. get individual, it’s not that expensive and less hassle for the organiser.

being overly polite to someone who, by rights, you should lose it to is possibly the best way to disarm them. chapeaux my son! hazzaaa to the bikists!
