Yeah got stranded at a garage after filling up with £60 worth of diesel and a declined card. Rang card co (Natwest) and they confirmed that my card had been frozen due to suspicious actiity including two transaction for T mobile and Vodaphone (im on O2) and a £1 transaction at the Apple store. Luckily was able to withdraw some cash from the machine on the forecourt!! Apart from the above I was reasonably impressed with the response.

I think if you have doubts then it’s probably fake – some things are just not worth saving a few pounds for!

I just use whatever is cheapest. no problems here – any new filter is better than any old filter!

i’m just sick of it being slow and it keeps asking if I want to kill or wait for a page to load. other than that I love it still and wouldn’t go back to IE or FF. I tried opera but for some reason it wouldn’t render STW properly. might give it another go.

Lighting doesn’t draw as much current as sockets so 20 would be plenty.

I am currently in the process of replacing three window lintels. got two in and waiting for mortar to cure to move onto the last one before we insulate and dry line the walls

Damp proofing is pointless unless you know what is causing the damp in the first place. Damp proof ‘specialists’ will only tell you what you don’t want to hear to line their pockets.

Don’t be surprised when you invite a ‘specialist’ in that he recommends the most expensive thing on his van to solve your problem as they know you don’t know rising damp doesn’t really exist! though now you do!

There’s more risk losing your foot due to gangrene from a borrowed pair of shoes than a 2nd hand Karabiner failing on you. I’d go as far as saying the same applies to a used Harness.
I’d 2nd the notion of buying from UKC as you can generally rely on the fact that it’s not just some chump selling something they don’t know about.
That said, if you’re new to roped climbing, i’d buy soft goods new to quell any concerns you might have.

Most of my metal work is second hand and I even piked up a shunt, a HMS crab and a descender from a car boot yesterday for the princely sum of £10! The Krab is worth that on it’s own!

Pretty deplorable but not prison worthy though IMHO.

If he’d have left the racial adjectives out he would just be another idiot who likes attention but because he included them in his tweets it shows he’s obviously a racist with issues untold.

They should have given him community service to work with black people – this would be much more beneficial.

I could deliver to a mutually convenient point within 50 miles of Southend on Sea but I will not be going into any dodgy areas or delivering to blocks of flats

I suspect it’s stolen but given the seller knows the word ‘Mutually’ and convenient has both spelled them correctly used them in a legible sentence makes me think otherwise.

Although it is a good idea to reduce the risk of transportation of spores you cannot discount the fact that these spores can be carried in the wind.
It was the same with the whole foot and mouth debacle where people were asked to wash their boots/car tyres etc when the disease can be spread by the air much more easily than people think!

I suspect the people at the school who afford this company a platform to (mis)sell their wares are either too stupid to realise it’s a scam or don’t care. good on the OP.

First aid kits only need to be basic – you’ll not be performing heart surgery on someone!
Have a think about what major injuries you might come across on any ride:

    Blood loss – Bandages bandages
Heart attack – Aspirin for the person to Chew on while you wait for Paramedics
Broken bones – Sam splint but only useful for certain breaks and not always the easiest to pack.
Head injuries – well not much you can do other than stem any blood loss and comfort them until help arrives.

That said, in my first aid kit is numerous bandages a vial of saline, some compeed and some zinc oxide tape.

Having knowledge of basic first aid is infinitely more useful than anything you put into a first aid kit!

you need to speak to a heating engineer really as we don’t know the layout of your house/fireplace.
Anything over 5Kw requires ventilation hatch in the room, and you might need a chimney liner (highly recommended anyway). All waork has to comply with part J of the building regs and as such is notifiable to Building control unless you get a HETAS engineer to do the work as they can sign it off. it’s not just a matter of opening a fireplace and installing a stove and will cost you a small fortune – even for a small fire!!

measure the length of cable you need, using the old one as a rough length.

the leftover bit can be use for the front mech

this is assuming you have the snips and ferrule to cut and seal said wire on the trial!

    highclimber

so it’s one really long wire with a nipple on either end? what would it take to snip this in the factory or is it that this was a second’s product that skipped QC at the factory?

Protest – tell her you refuse to do the washing up unless you have a bowl to do it in. She can continue using the sink but you won’t touch a dirty pot unless there’s a bowl to wash it in.

I agree with you sir, Bowls have to be more hygenic and are certainly more convenient.
