A school is not a public place there for whatever the owners of that space decide to ban is banned.

The school is technically owned by the people, not the council as they are an elected set of twunts with nothing better to do than to ruin a young girl’s fun.

it went up Snowdon on the train but it was carried by that famous (read: money grabbing) mountaineer, Chris Bonnington.

its very sad that the council find the need to censor (and it is censorship) this young girl from doing something as harmless as this.
I get the impression she didn’t have an agenda e.g. trying to highlight poor food standards etc, she was just trying to share her experiences with everone else which is what being a child is all about!

Sad, Very sad. Shame on the Council

I’ve never really understood why HR need to be involved in recruitment at all (unless you’re recruiting HR staff).

to make sure you are not being racist/ageist/sexist or plain old discriminatory to other groups of vulnerable minorities

I don’t think your relationship, whether blood or otherwise, comes into the moral obligation you feel you have to help. if you know they are going hungry and they weren’t related to you in any way I think I would still feel obliged to help where I can.

although it doesn’t solve your problem I think you should name and shame them! either that or the ubiquitous Bombers treatment seems apt.

“so why do you want this job?”

that’s an easy one – I billz to pay innit! plus the fact I have to fund a massive cocaine habit, oh and then there’s the hookers too, I have to pay them!

I think all interviews i’ve ever had bar one has been performed by imbeciles as they spend more time following the HR line of questioning to ‘determine’ my suitability for the role.

Why can’t interviewers just make it more informal and ask questions about the job in hand – i am more likely to be myself rather than a gibbering idiot trying to think of something to say other than some cliche but inevitably says the cliche thus making me sound like every other candidate!

When you came off your bike last, did your head hit the ground?

I really wouldn’t risk it. As mentioned, the nearest hospital is 30 miles away and it is wet and quite fast (and you will want to go fast because it wants you to)!

Edit: I came off the other there yesterday (probably because I was going too fast for my current abilities)

The stock response to any contact is to cup their face. Hit the legs: cup the face, hit to the chest: cup the face, hit the….you get the picture.

I suspect (just a suspicion) that the seller KNEW it was cracked and was relying on the buyer not noticing it in time for a refund!

given the time frame (excuse the pun) he was, quite rightly, banged to rights and has refunded no quibble because he was caught out!

I got my parcel, finally. They delivered it today…. to my neighbour, because apparently I wasn’t in even though I was in the garden at the time they went past. My neighbour said that the driver said I wasn’t in because there wasn’t a car (there was!!). Total fcuktards

it’s probably to confirm you are the card holder rather than who the issuer is.

it does seem a little bit OTT though.

Messy – get a jam jar half fill it with white spirit, plop your chain in it and shake it. Take it out, wipe it off lube thouroughly and replace on bike. Job done!

Who’d have thought there was this many people in Blackburn and Darwen that had the Internet and could work out how to use it?

I think you are confusing Darreners and blackrunians with the Dingles and oswoldtwislers!

I thought this thread was going to be about the cubicle doors opening the wrong way – I experienced one of them that didn’t have a lock on it so I used my foot to hold it closed but it just swang wide open for all to see me hovering (not wanting to place my bum on the seat) to do you know what!

But, yes, I too think about all those doors that you have to open once you’ve washed your hands! problem with them opening outward is that you could quite easily boot a door and there be a person going to pull it open from the other side. this would with hit them in the face (worse-case) or break their hand!

did you dig those uprights into the ground and set them in concrete? I’m contemplating adding to my Chopped wood store with something similar for when we get some un-cut stuff drpped off.

Hire a stump grinder or get someone with one to do it. if you are looking to save a buck try pouring some diesel on to it – I’ve heard that works for most trees though some tree huggers might not like that. Then again they’d object to you needlessly slaying a harmless weed
