they work fine if you know what you are doing

Temporarily strangling your dog to ‘teach’ it not to pull?

they can cause untold damage to their trachea even if you know what you’re doing.

Did someone mention This performance already? I couldn’t imagine anyone else in this movie!

Make sure your saddle is at the right angle:the tip should be slightly angled down such that the seat is slightly off horizontal.

well blow me down with a feather. That is cheap then! The last time I got a taxi to the airport from Cornbrook where I lived 18 months ago it cost £25 one way!

online quote of £26 return for a taxi. will go with that me thinks

there is no way on god’s earth that’s from the airport! it would cost that one way!

I lived in manchester for over 8 years and I can assure you the best way is on the train/tram! (Unless it’s a match day when it’s a nightmare)

Train to Piccadilly, Altrincham Tram to Trafford.
Top Tip though it will only save you a few pence is to use your train ticket on the tram to cornbrook then get off and get a return ticket from there as your train ticket is valid for travel within the city limits.

I picked one up the other day, a farmers labourer off into town for a few drinks. quite an interesting fellow who happened to have worked in my home town of Darwen (bear in mind we are now in north wales)

Sounds like copper around your veg patch could be a lot better than nematodes, if you want to keep the birds happy.

Screw the birds, I got herbs and veg to grow! I put enough seed and suet out for them greedy feckers!

I was listening to gardeners question time the other day and there was an article on using nematode worms to control pests, namely slugs. not sure how much a treatment costs but apparently its very effective and doesn’t poison anything else as they are specific to species.

The OP said he was doing the Llanberis but yes, the Ranger will be all but deserted in the eve.

please tell me you used PP?

Should be easy to do it in the eve at this time of year.

Much better to do it in the morning as most of the people you will encounter will be facing towards you going up rather that late in the eve when everyone is heading down.

give yourself a good three hours to get up. you can walk the Llanberis path in about 2hrs if you’re fit and with a bike it’s always going to be slower!

I meet this thread with complete indifference. could they have chosen a better date/time? yes they could. did they come across as rude and obnoxious? not in the slightest. is this thread going to top 1000 posts by the end of today? yes more than likely!

I think there was a watchdog article about certain phone companies claiming non-working phones had water damage when they didn’t it was just the markers that indicate water damage were so sensitive that a slightly steamy bathroom could trigger it.

Trading standards would be my first port of call.

unless there are obvious stalks of knotweed captured on your bike i highly doubt you’ll spread it to your land. Take it to the nearest jet wash and rinse it off – it’ll be fine.

take Deet and waterproof shorts/socks etc and you’ll be fine.

Waterproof shorts?? really? whats wrong with being wet for a couple hours?

went to Penmachno the other week after some wet weather and it was a right hoot (as it always is). there are a few trees/shrubs that could do with cutting back but nothing too much that gets in the way although I did catch my pedal on a rock hidden in some overgrowth which spat me off my bike. it was ok though!

    Plus the ban is ‘voluntary’…

    and it’s a bridalway, not a footpath!

That guy is obviously exceptionally nobbish. I walked down the Llaberis path yesterday and there were people riding up BEFORE the 5pm curfew – do you reckon he’d have a go about that too?

I’d just let it go – he’s obviously jealous!

Blatantly wasn’t assault but he’s a knobber nonetheless. he should be fined/banned/both for a short period.

An MOT is a standard check and I will always go with the place that has them at the lowest price. If you know roughly what it MIGHT fail on or get an advisory for then it’s often better to get these done before the MOT as you’ll most like be forced into making a rash decision about getting it fixed/replaced.

Lesson: QR Levers on disc equipped bikes go on the right. If it’s not in ‘the rules’ it bloody should be.

    Mine are on the left.

A good homeopathic remedy for teething.

Homeopathy is generally regarded as quackery. rub some Gin on their gums – no more harmful than benzocaine!

For sitting around enjoying a beer you don’t need the super-strength-melt-your-face DEET, just get a repellent with some DEET in it – it’s not more effective in higher concentrations, just lasts longer on the skin. if you were doing anything that meant you sweating then get the stronger stuff.

they don’t have clones working for them so it’s rather disingenuous to tar all Evans’ with the same brush. Some stores are good, some bad. Lets be a bit more specific when ranting about poor service from a national company with many stores. I.e. Name and shame.

Failing that, send a complaint email to Head office
