they are almost certainly talking crap. sadly there’s nothing you can do other than complain to them or ebay. you can’t force them to send the item.

Some people just don’t think that sometimes things don’t sell for wht they want and that’s what a reserve is for!

Son ” after he was telling us about how he was bullied as a child and its a bad thing he said that God gave us our hands to do good things with, not like Jimmy Saville.” ….wtf…

    Or even Hardeep Singh-kholi

“Kohli, 43, is still dealing with his spectacular fall from grace. In 2009, he was suspended from The One Show for “inappropriate behaviour” towards a female production colleague”

The proximity of some of those ‘observers’ to the cars makes me think that there’s something not right about the amount of bird crap on some people’s cars!

Why on god’s earth would you show the whole country what a bad parent you are?

I suppose it’s the same as those folks who like to show their manky fannies and tallywackers on national TV but god forbid going to the GP!

I do love some of these Daily Mail reader’s posts. they’re so obvious!

That’s where I’ve gone wrong in the past then….

It is the same for any meat. It infuriates me when people think that putting bacon into a cold pan is frying – heat the bloody pan you fool!!!

would adding a (curved) shelf above the radiator direct the convected heat ‘into’ the room

It would still ultimately end up rising to the ceiling and cooling before falling. depends on where the rad is in relation to you I suppose.

Make sure it’s room temp before cooking. get your pan REALLY EFFING hot. salt and pepper just before cooking. spread a little oil on the steak – not the pan. Fry for as long or short as you want, job done.

Unless your radiator gives out radiated heat ie is it one of them infrared heaters rather than the convection heat a standard convectir gives out

Erm, Heat IS infra-red radiation. convection is the process of heated air rising. if you get rid of the air your radiator will still feel hot because of the heat from the water which is RADIATING infra red

my coke fact is that it takes 4 litres of water to make just 1 litre of coke (I very nearly typed ‘cock’ for some freudian reason or other)

I can honestly say that I learned quite a bit doing the course last month. The person delivering the course was very qualified (they are all ex-driving examiners etc) and knew his stuff.
I’d highly recommend doing it over the points and fine!

Oh and less said about Hannibal Rising the better, truly terrible book and film.

Agreed, I was thoroughly disappointed with Mr Harris for publishing that.
Hannibal, the book, on the other hand was brilliant. I must read Silence of the lambs!

I like Manhunter but Silence of the Lambs is an excellent film – watched half of it last night before I got too sleepy.

I live on a 40mph road and the DG we had put in has had a noticeable effect on the volume. I wouldn’t write the property off on the noise as you do get used to it.

Unplug the router, reboot your computer and don’t click the ‘fix’ tab on the pop-up box from BT again as it always turns my wifi off on my computer and has probably done the same to you.

why do we have to give something up – just because a book of fiction tells us to is not a good enough reason for giving up something I like.

I think we should tke something up instead. spend 40 days and nights learning a new skill and then come good friday you can say you learned something new. I think I might call this period ‘Borrowed’ as you might have to borrow something like a guitar to practice your new skill

strart off slow. dont be tempted to increase the distance/speed too quickly. your legs wont forgive you.

My personal opinion is to not start running on the road. find somewhere with a softer base like grass or sand. Tarmac can be very unforgiving.

Get a pair of shoes with enough support but not too much cusioning it means you are running on stilts.

I believe if you are contractually obliged to work three months then they can force you to work it…

That is certainly not true. they cannot force you to work – that’s slavery.

if you have a firm offer that starts before your notice period ends then you would be wise to negotiate. if negotiations don’t work then just don’t go back though this will burn any bridges with your previous employer.

There’s very little they can do apart fromgive you a bad reference

They can only give positive or neutral references but not negative ones. they can, however, blackball you but if the OP already has another job in writing, there’s not much chance of that happening.

It’s basic contract law. the only thing that is changed is the companies involved in issuing these invoices now don’t have to prove who was driving. the owner becomes responsible. if you refuse to pay the invoice the can take you to court but that will cost them more money than the invoice is worth if they lose (likely considering some of the tactics used by them).

    Ignore ignore ignore.

I cancelled mine as soon as I signed up but after I had used it on an item. I couldn’t see me benefiting from it in the free period and I knew I would forget to cancel it.

Try emailing them explaining your frustration.

Any thoughts on whether I should go with just a smoke test as advised, or go for a flue

I would definitely line the chimney. your fire will be more efficient for it and you have piece of mind knowing all the gases are in a sealed pipe.

I am currently doing my PGCE. the interview, one to one with the tutor, was very relaxed and I was honest about my views on teaching and what it meant to me. most importantly I was able to get across the reason WHY i wanted to be a teacher because I’d been told to prepare for that question.

the other major thing covered in the interview was my subject knowledge, what I knew, what I didn’t etc. againl I was honest and said I needed to refresh some things but felt prepared to teach up to KS3 at that point and with a bit of studying I am now teaching upto GCSE KS4.

The work load is intense and at times you will want to quit but as long as you are organised and prepared you will be ok.

Good luck, any specific questions, drop me and email (in profile)

It’s possible you are right, but it’s meat, MEAT i tell thee! he can’t be frightened of meat; he’s a dog FFS – it’s kind of like finding out your son is a road biker!

The issue a lot of people have is that they see the fact it comes under building regs and think that it cannot be done DIY. nothing could be further from the truth. Building regs are there for safety and make sense in the most part. Bulding control can be very helpful. There are many misconceptions about installing a stove the biggest being that it is hard to do!

I learned the adjective, Refulgent the other day. quite why we have so many words to describe things, I don’t know. not quite as nice as it’s synonym, Resplendent but slightly easier to say.
