    Bang goes that theory then!

I missed about 15 years of MBUK whilst I was tossing about with cars.

Grizzer – You have to give the bic pen end caps a little tap with a hammer to get them in if I remember right.

If you are not running splined discs, you'll need a rear one or a splined to 6 bolt adaptor (a mate couldn't get the mavic adaptor to work).

Grizzer, yes Sir, the little caps in the end of the pen, not the pen lid thing. Just steal 4 pens from your work mates desks. I was going to use bolts but they looked like they would rub on brake hose.

The little plastic caps at the end of a BIC biro fit a treat!

…and it's great. I rode it this afternoon. Super flowy, as I believe the young people say, with big berms. Thank you to all who put in all the hard work – well done. I was giggling like a ****t at the bottom!

    Donation made BTW.

The Dears – No Cities Left is a great album.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre – you used to be able to download all there records for free – don't know if you still can. Worth starting with Take it From the Man or Give it Back.

    Have fun.

    Thanks Del,

I bought the bike second hand and didn't appear to get any of those – looks like I'll have to rustle something up!

    Thanks again.

My OEM 2009 XT's (sorry don't know the M number) had the blanking plates hidden behind the displays when I took them off – it clipped into the back of display. Which was nice. Would be worth a look.

Have to say, I was the marketing man for a bike company and distributor about 10 years ago – we had no/very little advertising budget and very rarely advertised. We did however always supply bikes and products whenever we had something that would fit in a group test and our products usually got good, fair reviews (we even won the WMB bike of the year one year). I know it does help if you have a good relationship with the writers, but I don't think it's all about the budget. Most of the big advertisers are big, well funded companies and most make really good, if often mainstream products.

    Thanks for the replies chaps.

Am using a single speed hub so sounds like a 107 or 110 then.
