As Simon above said avoid when wet, there is some great riding but it is a watertable……unsure if that is the correct term…..but holds water, some of the peat bogs are deep. But it is a great area but limited bridleways…..booo

I have a litespeed kitsuma ti ht and currently a titus supermoto, with a riduclous amount of travel, last summer it was an ellsworth moment, summer before just a ti hardtail.

I love my kitsuma funny lively and made my local trails more intresting and challenging, i ride it with a suss post due to back and neck problems. At the moment I am riding full suss and due to above injuries i will for the next year, will I sell the Ti no, coz even if i ride three times a year it brings a smile to my face.

If i was you I would get a steel frame and then ti. I bought a dialled bikes Prince Albert loved but got ti, did not need to really as they are great bikes.

Nickc no a cc, I have A titus supermoto which is a similiar bike to the fr, looking at a cc to be lighter all dayer. just wondering what travel forks people are running, I have some pacefighters 130 to 150 mm thinking that 130 to 140 mm will be okay? :?

1991…………..I could not ride a bike, never learned when I was a kid  the doctors told me I would not be able to play rugby or football again and I should take up cycling I was like cannot cycle so my wife bought me a 21 inch KHS mtn bike (massive bike) at a auction for a fiver and taught me to ride that summer…………………been trying to learn ever since :D……..alsoit has been a really good excuse when I have bought a new bike “well you did introduce me to mtn biking.”
Sold the bike to a 6ft 5 bloke for £30.00 I am 6ft that is how big the bike was

EU directive……imperial for weight…..meteric for travel????

Have for the last two and a bit decades used hiking boots with my flats, you can pick up light weight goretex or similar for £30 ish if you do not mind shopping around and are not a brand snob. Try T K Maxx, I use Raichle but others in my family use Hi Tec, been very good. Also used Nike?Adidas/Karrimor/Berghaus/Merrel (worst of the lot). Vibram soles tend not to get as shredded as others and are stiffer. Warter will go in eventually and will sit there I have use sealskin socks …….horrible…now use wool socks.

Glad they work for you, in our family all 4 were useless………………..well they make good but expensive dusters.

Maybe they have improved in the last 3 years

Sorry also have a very old but still great submerino from ground effect

Try TK MAxx, dri as a bone ones for 20.00 looked nice.
Personally as a zidane tpye sweating individual I prefer merino wool and have tried several for me what works is
    Surly brilant
    nike grand
kona tfiosi went like felt and was rubbish
    endura halcoyn ok
Howies complete tosh and drivel, no properities at all cold wet and shapeless.

On the ‘helly smelly’ side I would recommend Decathlon gear especially the skins stuff high quality and cheap works better than 75% of merino wool tops

Could I suggest a titus some great prices out there, i have a supermoto only one ride old but impressed, the elgaupo was I think Ben Howarths selected bike seen them hardly used for 600.

Hecklers are good but horst links better :D

For me horst link with a walking rocker, like turner not the old intense tracer fsr is the best design ever followed by VPP like trance, single pivot not a fan but simple faux bars evil

    hicksville
    Free Member

Evolution has taken place………… the urt had gone think to fishers and orange of yore………….klein mantra……….some have systems have survived Horst link, look at the specialized pitch and the old turner rfx very similiar, ellsworth moment fantastic bike………….VPP is great and improved suspension design…………..single pivot lower postions now lower compare the bullits and work better for new shocks……….faux bars were a cheap patent way around horst link the latter two work better for new clever shocks so for me biggest improvements have been

clever shocks and forks….though the old fox vanilla rear shock coil and air with RC is a great shock

    better frame geomtry

light materials…..I think my first bike in the 1980s weighed 40lbs in the early 90s 30lbs and in 00s a 6 and 6 travel 31lbs
    so progression

I had the older trance a 4 model, bought as a frame only blue with spots. Built it with pace forks 130 and xt kit, great bike, in its second version i had pikes on and very capable, lightest buils was 28lbs i would guess and it rode great, excellent suspension system really grips in on climbs, very neutral going down in a very positive manner. at 6ft got a large always felt it was too big, frame weighty at 7lbs I think but it is a great bike cpapable of letting rip.
