Can you wield a spanner? My now ex-girlfriend did about 50,000 miles in her 205 1.8 diesel with me as head mechanic. Known to most as a “unreliable french car”.
Think I only replaced was a drive shaft, both wishbones and the brake pads and brake discs. Which in my opinion isn’t alot. The car cost £300 it did 60-70mpg and the parts to fix it were never particularly expensive.

I heard the 106 xnd is of similair stock. 50-60mpg. I’ve got a 306 Hdi at the moment and get a solid 50mpg but I did have to replace a drive shaft for the mot because the ABS ring had corroded away. This cost around £100 + some other bits and bobs. but it’s never actually broken down!

So depends if you think changing a wishbone sounds like a nightmare, or an hours work 1 sunday afternoon.

Having the hydraulic ram on there is pretty dangerous in my opinion. You can use a power steering rack with this removed no problem, but it is beyond heavy trying to steer with no pump/fluid and the ram still attached.

    It’s dangerous

re-read and noticed the point about 3k jump to 6k fees. Changing course within the uni would avoid this, so that really is your best option.

The replies in this thread are shocking. There really is no need to do a course you hate or a job you don’t enjoy. I’m guessing you have no dependants so you don’t need to ‘knuckle down’ or ‘bite the bullet’.

You do need to come up with good solid reasons why you don’t enjoy your course and decide on a course which would suit you more. Don’t worry about the poor A-levels, transferring within the uni is much easier than reapplying.

I’m not sure how hard your uni course is, mine has been a lot of work. If I didn’t enjoy it I don’t think I could of stuck it out all the way to the end.

Absolute rubbish generalisation. If you get a cheap frozen battery turkey from the supermarket it will be totally tasteless like any other cheap, frozen, high intensity farmed meat from the supermarket. If you go to a local producer, butcher or deli that does Norfolk Bronze or Norfolk Black free range, non frozen bird it is a totally different experience. Lots of taste, firm juicy and will still be producing sarnies etc for a week.

Cock is even better, and goose is good but as said above, very fatty and pretty small

It’s not absolute rubbish, I know food and I know that turkey is god awful. It’s only eaten at christmas because the yanks told you that’s what they do! If you think a turkey is as equally tasty as a goose/duck/pheasant/chicken/peacock/swan/pigeon/guinea-fowl or pretty much any other bird then you probably have zero taste buds.
If you speak to a chinese man about the breast of a bird he will tell you that it is the worst/cheapest meat on the bird, and he is right. It lacks flavour and is dry (I can already hear the cries of “Well you obviously can’t cook” I am talking in comparison to the dark meat). A turkey is made up of mainly this dry tasteless bad textured meat. A goose on the other hand is all the good stuff with the added bonus of some lovely fat to cook the potatoes in!

We had rats break in and run rampant in the loft of our old house. My blood ran cold. Especially when I could hear their eyes flapping (as they shook their head(s) etc.

Their eyes flapping? How very odd.

Anything but turkey!! It’s bland dry and useless. Turkey is available all year round but you wouldn’t buy it because it’s a terrible bird to eat. So why eat it at christmas?

Goose, Beef, Venison, Boar, Duck, ANYTHING BUT TURKEY!!!!

Well if anyone knows what caliper half would fit post mount with a 203mm disc or just a list of what all the caliper half numbers mean then I would be sorted. I can only find old post on forums with google and someone always directs them to a now dead link.

Go for a weekend in an american city with an apple store and buy one there? Remember to unpack it before coming back to avoid paying the tax on it!
