Doesn’t he already have that bike brand relationship with Pinarello as he is personally sponsored by them hence the link to the team Q36.5 whos owner recently purchased Pinarello (Ivan Glasenberg)?

I can see how mismatch tyres is theoretically bad but with modern day ABS etc. I would imagine this has less of an impact in reality.

Best to speak to the pub if you have proof you made a purchase. From my experience they have the ability to call off the attack dogs.

As people have said, if I wanted to steal scooters/motor bikes, I’d just drive round in my transit and pick them up when I saw them. I couldn’t be arsed tracking them anywhere.

At my company, your death in service and any paternity pay (it is now 90% of FTE here for a number of weeks) is based on your salary, so it doesn’t matter that you “sacrificed” some of it.

Depends on how you prove your salary to the mortgage company, it’s not something I’ve ever had to worry about.

You can buy mechanical groupsets and they are better than the ones from the 80s and 90s. Disc brakes aren’t hard to bleed and if you are getting mineral oil everywhere then thats on you. Disc brakes are occasionally noisey if you get them covered in crap in poor weather, but they work better than rim brakes in all weather conditions and you will never convince me otherwise.

I think the major issue for “these people” is that they want the “top of the range” to be exactly what they want and completely ignore the fact you can actually go out and buy exactly what they want elsewhere.

You could go out and buy this:

I was a boundary pushing wind up merchant as a child and I took pride in it at the time. Everytime, my daughter stares me directly in the eyes and continues to do the thing I explicitly asked her not to, I have to respect her for it and accept that this is what I deserve.

I manage a production facility that installed cameras in production areas to aide in investigations. I don’t have time to be logging into the cameras to spy on people and if an investigation is required I am not looking to pin the blame on someone, I’m looking to find a root cause and implement a corrective action.

Adam Yates still at Ineos with soul leadership would have been a great addition to this tour.

The reason they say not to wax the quicklink is for safety. One of those things thats probably fine but a company is going to er on the side of caution and tell you not to do it. The quicklink is also going to be interfacing with a chain that has been waxed so there aren’t really any measurable difference I’d imagine from waxing to not waxing it.

Wish I’d never read it, word of warning, the daily mail article that shows an image of this woman also shows images of monkeys in cages, that I’d rather have not seen after reading the BBC news article and some of the daily mail one.

We had a similar barrier next to our factory and when opened it was even more dangerous as it was just a 1 foot grey square pointed towards the cycle path. We had the post moved so it was no longer pointing into the cycle track and had the end painted bright orange. The gate was already painted and had a reflective strip along it. This should be common practice really.

I usually make a joke about how I can understand that if you are a nervous driver then cyclists can be confusing and even quite scary but as long as you take your time and remember “mirror signal manoeuvre” you’ll be fine. Usually shuts them up or makes it awkward.

I think you need to be extremely clear you are out of the office and will not be contacted. If you are just missing the calls or left it ambiguous, which I am often guilty of, then it ends up being worse for everyone. I now make it clear that if you are calling me when I’m off, something better be properly wrong.

Is there anybody left who wants anything other than a change of government? It seems pretty hard to imagine anyone who is remotely interested wanting to continue with this grimness

Fixed that for you. Actually you’d need to be more than remotely interested. Most people I speak to are just furious at Mark Drakeford for implementing lockdowns and the 20mph speed limit in Wales. Outside of that they’re not that interested.

well given I’ve been booked up for a year and she decided to invite him in last few weeks I suspect they are just fine with it!

You hadn’t admitted to being fake friends with her when she booked it.

I think I could count on my fingers the number of times my doorbell has been used in the last 12 months. Do you just have people turning up at random times your not expecting? Is your house so cavernous you can’t just answer the door? I’m lost on the use case.

If I can finally convince work to set up a C2W scheme, then I’ll buy a fancy roadbike, Aeroad or supersix evo are the frontrunners.

He’s not actually smoking, it’s a strange joke. There’s a strange joke within DH about smoking, Gregg Minaar, Amaury Pierron and others have posted pictures of them smoking.

Based on everything that team-mates have said about him having a nasty temper together with the sketchy details of what happened.

Come on now, being a bit of an arsehole of a team mate is one thing….

He sounds like a nasty piece of work, though I appreciate we don’t have the full details.

    Based on what?

I don’t know why they don’t make the condenser easy to open up and clean!

Galbani is equal to that sliced mozzarella. To my taste the sliced mozzarella is probably better, I find Galbani very bland and quite rubbery for mozzarella. I’ve converted most people to 60% tesco own brand shredded mozzarella over the top of pecorino and parmesan. Theres a nice truffle cheddar which goes well with mushrooms by “Snowdonia cheese”.

Many people have mentioned the tomato sauce and the effort of cooking it, I’ve found that good quality tinned tomato with salt and pepper added and possibly garlic is the best sauce and use it raw out the tin. This is what is generally suggested for Neapolitan pizza.

Are you cooking this in your home oven? How high does the temperature go? Some home ovens go to 300c and you can use no fat. If you are limited to 220-240 then you will need a recipe with some oil in it.

Burrata is my new favourite pizza topping of choice:

I only like niche beers you won’t have heard of because I’m such a very special, sophisticated boy.

In fact, I have found their stuff – including their cider – to be insipid at best and putrid at worst

I’ve enjoyed a number of tiny rebel beers, your patter is insipid and putrid at worst.

I’d use a professional mechanic if a) it didn’t cost a fortune, b) I could get things done as and when I need them doing, and c) I could trust that it isn’t going to be bodged.

As with any job you are able to do yourself, it seems to expensive to pay for someone good to do and at the price point you are willing to pay, it will almost certainly be done badly.

Doing internally routed cables is just a fun Sunday afternoon puzzle, it’s all about mindset! The cable routing on a giant Defy is almost comical in the sharp angle for the front mech and ridiculously difficult portion through the chainstay for the rear mech.

Just as a counter point to some of the above. I had mine done at 18 with a graft from the patella and I snowboarded/ski’d/mountain biked/got pissed and never had an issue post rehab. It does take quite a while to really feel confident in it again but you do get back to it. I’ve never heard of someone getting back to normal sporting activity without the op.

My experience of a full tear was that it would definitely not support normal life, my knee would ocassionally feel like it didn’t line up properly and I’d end up on the floor in pain and it would take a couple of days to be able to walk comfortably again. I tried to live with it for a year, as the doctor in the A&E told me it was just soft tissue damage and I’d be fine. It wasn’t fine. Got a reconstruction, 9-12 months of physio, good as new.
