Thanks for all the replies! Didn’t expect to get such a good response as quick as this!

Dropped @Nixie that message but whilst i wait i’ve found these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fox-36-Talas-R-Downhill-Forks-26/114534760352

36’s may be almost as heavy as what I have now though!

Seen captainclunkz! Do those ones fall into the top trail fork category as jimi says? my knowledge of Rockshox was poor before I quit riding for 4 years!

I didnt realise that there were 12Sp HG hub cassettes!

I’ll have a look at what it would take to service my existing wheels then, even if you are all dashing my noisy hope freehub dreams!
If I was to stick a 11-50 Sunrace HG 12 speed on, paired with a SLX mech and XT shifter, what size chainring would be reasonable? Looking at going for an Oval ring from Superstar, would 36t be fine as its 26″, or would I better off with a 34t?

£200 for the evos on Flow Ex’s, £75 for a Microspline hub adapter + £30 new bearings.

135QR rear with 20TA up front currently.

I’ll have no use for a spare 1×11 mech when I eventually replace this set. I was thinking i’d just relace the Pro 2’s onto 27.5s and minimise waste and cash in the longer term.

I did think about doing that, however the wheels on there already are starting to seriously show some age anyway. Im not sure how much a rebuild and retrue on some straight pull cup and ball bearing hubs would be. Theyre XT m778’s with the 22.5mm internal rim.

    @Shermer
Yeah, I found a chainguard that looks suitable here: https://www.velovitality.co.uk/products/velo-orange-polished-chainguard-48t?contact_posted=true#contact_form

Your suggested one seems to be shown with a 3x crankset in all photos I can see, so I worry that the offset from the BB will cause it to stick out a fair amount.
The Velo orange one also fits well with the aesthetic of the Mango, which isn’t necessary. But it’s a welcome addition!

I’ve found Crud Road racers which seem to be ideal for what I need. I’ll compare the mk2 and 3’s to see what is the neatest solution for this frame, the Mk3 seems wider and heavier than necessary for a 25c bike!

Air force actually! But yes, cycling around base in all weathers in flying boots and a set of Nomex flying pajamas that I need to keep clean. I’ve managed to write off a set of Meindl Desert fox boots by getting oil on the heel already

Thoughts on using paraffin wax in place of regular chain lube would also be appreciated!

    The Pushmi-pullyu

The pushmi-pullyu (pronounced “push-me—pull-you”) is a “gazelle-unicorn cross” which has two heads (one of each) at opposite ends of its body. When it tries to move, both heads try to go in opposite directions.

    yay! Dr. Dolittle FTW!

Procrastination/laziness and I’m FAR too emotional for my own good. I tend to seem detached and unemotional most of the time, But I find myslf bottling emotion to the point where it festers into anger. I then find myself seeing red every couple of months and hurting someone. Last happened during the summer hols where i threw a Billie can at someone and it hit someone else in the head causing massive bleeding. I then ran off and cried. As of late i have found a girl who i can talk to frankly and share everything with. sort of like a gay best friend but I’m a guy. I’m too empathic and I’m prone to depression. my depression i ease with my guitar and anger i ease by running and music. i live in the chilterns so its plenty hilly and i can stick 10 miles and 7 hill sprints in before i a calm and capable of totally rational thought again. I love far too much, unrequited love is a massive problem for me. i can go on. Thanks for reading all of that if you did :)

“I had a Boss ME-70 and then sold it to get a Line 6 HD300. IMO, the ME-70 isn’t as versatile and doesn’t “feel” as good. The HD300 amp models are much more detailed than the ones in the ME-70. There is also a noticeable difference? in touch/response. The Line6 software that allows you to edit your sound via USB is a big plus”

Boss are good. Line 6 have the HD series which is pretty decent as well. don’t forget your amp may have effects built into it.

My beliefs regarding childbirth and natural selection may offend so i won’t go into them but I do belive that abortion is fine until the detection of brain activity. i have my reasons but that is my choice not yours. Just think about rape/Incest/other pregnancies where the child is not detected until the deadline has passed.

Hmmmmm… not sure quite what to make of it. A couple of laughs but i think cat has lost a fair bit of fluidity and style. (not that he really had any anyway) Polymorph, Polymorph II and the siren episodes are the best.

A decent laptop would work far better. My school is trying out a yr8 class with them and so far the study has shown… Epic Fail
Not compatible with anything and the class has frequnt problems with theacher sanding word docs to the VLE to be completed and not a single child being able to open it. If everyone used Apple then we would be fine but they don’t beacause they are stupidly explensive for what they are! they start from £399. http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile-computing/laptops/top-laptops-20-best-laptops-in-the-world-706673?artc_pg=2
may i point you in the direction of one of the above?

    Burny!!!
Burny, Tokai and Edwards are THE best in your price range! Have played £600 gibson studios that were FAR worse than a second had burny RLG55 how are you for Amps?
gibson and Epi are having workforce satisfaction issues and their quality is seriously hit and miss. i know a guy with a 3 year old studio that the finish is still sticky on. Talk to richard at richards guitars for your own sake!
