Both myself and SO now live within 6 miles of our respective family homes. In a rather small hamlet near Royal Tunbridge Wells, eldest goes to local primary and now talks like he has swallowed several plums, daughter goes to nursery at the castle and is developing much the same way. SO definatley posh, but not as much as her granny, and my acsent seems to change depending who I am with, posh or very much not.

£168 for family of four, peak membership. Pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, big gym, 4 studios for classes, childrens outdoor play area, creche, 18 hole golf course. I like it and more importantly SO uses it alot so value for money.

I posted 59.56 for a 100m freestyle and 4.47 for 400m freestyle, and I was an average club swimmer. Now I coach at my old club 3 times a week and take the dry training sessions. Will post up more later, got kids to bath now..

Well if you want to loose it, point it in my direction as I need to put a stone on, for my channel swimm in September. I am failing to put weight on, as on a SEE FOOD AND EAT IT diet, but still training and buring it all off.

My first car was a vw beetle bought for 1500 quid spent about 3000 on it over five years, lowered big engine roof chop, respray. Spun that plenty of times in the rain rear wheel drive 1.6 and 1.8 litre engine, even managed it up hill. now have a very middle aged ford c-max which costs me over 1200 to insure but then I keep crashing cars so what should I expect. Latest is flood damage puddle was a lot deeper than i thought. Buy the car you can regret it either way, not buying it , or buying it and it breaks you and the bank.

My Broinlaw invests, my pension, other family members, old business collegues. He is super anal, and has only ever passed his exmas first time. So i would be happy giving him my money. I also used to work for him for about 6 months, the bro inlaw is not really the issue.
Its more living with the MONSTER in law, i guess staying as seperate as possible and trying to save like mad. Just better get sky multi room installed first.

We would still pay for share of Gas, lecky, water, food, but would save on council tax and morgage payments, house insurance contents.
But would have to think about renting after the year if nothing was on the market we liked.

Kids love going to grannies, and she easy to get on with did 3 months when we had the extension. But that was temporary, what if we dont find a house or they fall through could be there for years. That is my main worry.

If we are getting one ups, I know someone who did it straight through in singles, just to prove it could be done.
My club has won the team entry in the K2’s before so I think I could speak with some authority on this subject.

I have been paddling for the last 20 years at a very high level and I would not take this race lightly. My boat only weighs 7.5kg and by the time you get to portage 67 it wont feel that light anymore trust me. Can also help with club if southeast based.

    The brick
The aerial looks interesting, and the cables conecting to the aerial are coroded at the point of contact. So think it all really needs replacing and directing correctly, just don’t want to become another Rod Hull…..
I quite like the idea of getting the extra cables and running freesat through my olde sky+ box, and getting a HD box for down stairs, I do watch Sky 1, 2 quite a bit and the kids have their package.
The SO just wants to watch tele in bed occasionally, which she cant do at the moment.
Think I will ring independant sky installer and see if oliverd1981 option will work.
    Thanks STW

Pay £126 joint membership a month, including kids at a health and country club, does’nt include the golf though. Massive gym, 20m pool, sauna, steam room, jaccuzi, more classes to shake a stick at, 2 bars childrens play area outside, wii, xbox area, creche ( which the wife loves £3.50ph)has been a godsend. Been members for about 10 years now, probably use it 2-3 times a week the misses goes every day, so think we get value for money. Open 6am til 10.30 most days.

Sorry to jump on the wagon, I’ve just been offered a 54 plate C-Max 2.0 tdci with 58k from my bro-inlaw for £1800 with fsh, tax and MOT til May 12. Its a bit scratched and got a few small dents, I need a winter car, so I can garage the Corrado Storm over the winter. Does this seem like a good deal?

If you ever get stuck in an avalanche, the best way to get out is to dribble what ever way the dribble goes, dig the other way to get out. FACT

I too have great neighbours, terrace of 6 houses, couple on the end great retired just so still very active, share an allotment with them. Other side guy works away in Cardiff on some TV program thats just started a new series Dr ‘something’ can’t remmeber, his misses great always bringing food round, as just her most of the time and loves cooking. Next Evil satan lady with her hounds from hell, sprays Jays fluid everywhere to cover up smell of Dog piss, permiates the house if you leave any window open at the front ( could devote whole post to her), next guy only comes down at weekends, gave kids easter eggs, cant be all that bad. Spinster at the end, walk her dog, and do a bit of gardening for her when I can.
So 1 out 5 not bad I guess.

Can’t remember why but after a heavy session at uni decided it would be a good idea to jump of Kingston bridge into the thames at about 3am, as dare, on the way back to halls. Suprisingly shallow I remember thinking as my feet touched the silty mud on the river bed, who knows what could have been under the water, luckily I popped back up to the surface. Beckoning my friend to follow me which he duly did. both surviving another day. Scary thinking back on it now though.
