6′ 1″ had a large. Found it a tad small. Stiill, rode it for about 2 years. Sold it and bought a large Giant TCR. Much happier.

Did OK, just missed out on top ten. Was more like a road race in parts. Little pelotons and attacks. Course was OK actually. The single track wooded section dried out quite nicely. Was good fun

2 of us are doing a similar trip in June.

We want to do the Telepgraphe, Galibier, d’Huez route (http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/T-l-graphe-Galibier-Alpe-d-Huez539453) but the logistics are hard since the start and finish are at different locations.

Any ideas how we overcome that?

But the equator is on the side of the globe so if you start there are ride due north I can’t help thinking that is straight up 😳

Never had an issue with Stans rims and Ralphs. I run PSI anywhere between 20-25. Not one problem.

Superfly 9.6 owner. Very capable bike, I’d quite like a FS for the more fun days but the superfly handles everything with ease that I ride so can’t justify it.

Here’s my Superfly 9.6. Stock apart from the Crests. Weighs about 24lbs. Where’s the best place to make some weight cuts?

Bit of challenging race in more ways than one.

Only just made the start line due to a long queue at the toilets. Once I got going I settled into a good pace and was really enjoying the course. Then 4 miles in my chain broke. Some trailside maintenance and 10 minutes later I was on my way again.

1 mile later and my temporary repair popped again. I briefly contemplated the meaning of life before a sulky walk back to the car.

Having travelled from Milton Keynes for the race I decided it was too far to have come for a 5 mile ride. So a more permanent fix was carried out back at tyhe car and I set off to at least complete a lap. I’m glad I did as the 6.5 miles was well worth the effort despite finishing with a flat rear. Great work by the Brass Monkeys team.

To round it off I then got a flat tyre on the car driving home.

Having missed last race due to manflu I’ve signed for rd 3. Low behold 1 hour after registering I’ve put my back out. Still aiming to race though.

Mine turned me away once because bike was too dirty. He told me to take it home, wash it and bring it back.

I did take it home, I did wash it and I fixed the issue myself.

The only trouble with parking there is the risk of upsetting the local residents by clogging up their road

I’m in. Although our 8 month old baby is ill at the moment. Sleep deprivation is kicking in. I’m not expecting much of a result.

If you can’t see your entire history then there’s no real point for me. And its something I certainly wouldn’t pay for. Therefore I’m out.

Can’t make this one but will be there for Rd.2.

Don’t suppose anyone from milton keynes wants to car share to save on fuel costs?

do people not wear lycra shorts under their baggies?

That is with a proper short underneath. I don’t like the scrunching up of material that you get with baggies. Never noticed it until I went just lycra. So much free-er 🙂

    heavy_rat

Lycra all round nowadays. Never thought it’d get to that stage. Used to be baggies man but compared to lycra they are a real pain in the arse and pretty uncomfortable.

I had a 2008 Meta 5 which I loved and found it was made for me. The inevitable happened and it was replaced by a 2010 frame. The bike was never the same after. 🙁

Superfly is a good shout. Slacker head angle than a Giant XTC and still very rapid when you want it to be

Bike is still pretty new and its been happening since I bought it. Should have took it back to shop but we had a minor disagreement.

Will check slackness when in smaller cogs

As much as they are boring, they are sometimes the only option.

I normally watch something on the laptop to ease the pain.

I would rather put on a gore tex jacket, warm tights and embrace the elements. I used to go on the turbo but try to avoid it now. It’s not good for you.

Even when its 8pm in the evening during the middle of November?
