SPDs are fine just make sure you buy a shoe with a full carbon shank. I have just ridden the Etape (part 2) using my XT SPD pedals

Xavier and I will be coming again – hoping this year not to end up in hospital, I have the chain ring scar to prove it.

Fantastic crack last year – really well organised.

Apparently it might be a bit muddy , so bring plenty of spare dry clothes

we have had our dog insured with Petplan since we got her, they have always paid claims without quibble – but as someone said the real issue is the public liability insurance – you are responsible or your dog’s action ( but not your cats.)

If you are in London you are welcome to borrow my Saris Bones and if you like it I would be happy to sell it to you

Ah, I had heard that they were doing work and was restricted – but certainly hadn’t heard any suggestion it was closing…..

We have a Maxx Rack which can take up to five bikes ( needs a flange plate tow bar fitting ) – brilliant, also have a Saris Bones three rack which I hate. The Saris always gets great reviews , mine is three years old and they may have improved the design, but the strap and buckle system sucks – so avoid ( even if they do look pretty.

Single track did do a review of racks a few months ago – so maybe email Chipps and co and see if they have a back copy.

thanks, it has taken me long enough to make up my mind on the Contis, so now I am on a quest – there must be at least one pair somewhere in the UK

Thanks for the advice on spelling and shoes. Will now try to find a London stockest to have a proper look. I used to use 5:10s for climbing and they always had the best rubber technology going.

Thanks, there does seem to be a software bug – I have been spending hours in forums and it seems you need to manually copy the USERDATA.GPX file from the SD\garmin\gpx subdirectory to the SD \garmin\newdata directpry – unbelievable really.

Now I am having problems deleting the test tracks and routs I created on the SD Card – any ideas ?

    HB47

Yep I did , people are very helpful but it doesn’t answer this question. I must be doing something wrong somewhere as the track is visible in basecamp , from the SD card, but not in courses on the unit.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get better or worse ( depending on which way you look at things) the conrod in piston number 3 exploded , driving straight through the main engine block and piston number 4 – the bottom line is £6,500 for a complete new Renault Engine including fitting !!!!!

That warranty is looking pretty dam good now.

So I will shortly be selling a Grand Escape, ’05 plate with a brand new engine if you want one.

    The warranty ends in March.

We have an 05 Renault Grand Espace – what we actually have is a sthi car and a great warrenty – we extended the original renault warrenty at a cost of £800 for 2 years and it has cost Renault a small fortune, well over £4,000 ( turbo charger, power steering system, injet manifolds twice, water pump.). The warrenty ends in March this year (can’t be extended again unfortunately) and we will be selling the car asap. The one condition was that we did have to keep up the service record.

    Acid test :

    dry your feet
    put on socks
stand in bath of water for 3 minutes
    get out of bath
    take off socks

if you feet are wet they are leaking if your feet are dry you have sweaty feet

This was the suggestion which Seal Skin gave me when I called them with the same problem – unfortunately I have sweaty feet

what’s driving it is a general lack of yield in the market , so money is returning to the equity markets as fixed income offers such a low level of return. Also while the FSTE is the London index the companies generate the majority of earnings in the international market. The bottom line is the pension funds can only stay on the sidelines for so long. The equity markets are too deep and liquid to be squeeze – for that look at the softs and metals – try googling the bunker hunts silver market or hanimaka aluminium market squeezes.

The acid test is phone the Halfors team and tell them you want a Brompton – Brompton won’t sell to Halfords so they will have to advice you which other shops you could use the voucher in to get the “Brompton”

    HB47
    Full Member

Check the Letter Of Collection Voucher first – you may find you can use it in lots of shops – if it is the same as the one our company does then it is only Halfords which adminstrer the scheme – they just “suggest” you get the bike form Halfords – under our scheme you can go to Condor / Cycle Surgery etc.

    Well done, good luck etc.

My only real question is how much do you need a year to be happy on . I am still a few years away – but kids are now moving on to university, so the edn is in sight – guess now have to look at the next few years as the time to save for the rain days

Apparently the security guys are checking the CCTV and if they are found will get fired for cause – and all for a £40 specialized shirt – how stupid.

Levitine Lebanese resturant , in the hotel out at the end of the Palm – surprizingly the fixed price menu is reasonable and the belly dancing is good. Also you get to see the world's biggest fish tank.

If you get the chance drive up to ABbu Dhabi to see the Mosque ( not as good as the blue mosque) but still very beautiful
