  • Hi Trout

Thanks for the tip just taken the lamp apart and yes one of the battery wires has broke off the board will re-solder it at the weekend and hope it was just that. :-)

Mmmm hope its not the bulb how can I check if its a cable or bulb?

Sorry about all the questions but would like to get it up and running again

    Hi Trout

yeh just checked and yes it is plastic. Do you do lamp fixes as well as mods. As I am not sure if its the battery or the head unit thats gone or a wire come a drift some where.

    Hi Trout

Can you anything with Light and Motion ARC lights as mine has given up the ghost?

Loving that old skool XC racing Vid. Tried to spot as many parts of the course that I still ride now.

I am sure back in the dark distant past there has been a NPS round held at the park, I will ask my work mate tomorrow if he remembers when it was could help with your case.

Have to agree with all the comment on here rode the new bits on Sunday and it has breathed new life in to the old trails. Liking the new big berm on the first drop in the singletrack no more worring about the big hole that use to be there but not sure about the kicky jumpy thing straight after it. Was also concerned about the off camber stuff come the wet season but glad to here you boys will digging it in.

While riding was thinkng about user comflict etc and also ridden some checky stuff in the past in Headdown Plantation which I think is Forestry land could there be scoop if things got more organsied that some thing could be done there which could be link to QE?

    Just found this http://www.hants.gov.uk/rh/qecp/southdowns1.pdf

    Hi Graham

I did a one way trip W-E just a couple of weeks ago by myself in 10 1/2hr but that was with meeting my partner at Cocking and Bo peep Farm and I am not the fittest person alive and it was the longest ride I’ve done. You will meet quite a few people to chat too and get encouragment from along the route. To be honest Some of the climbs are hard long slogs especailly the eastbourne end and there is not many just flat bits. I would also agree that a GPS would be a real help as some of the signage is not great in places.

Go on give it ago even if you don’t do it in the 24hrs at least you can say you did it.

Sorry about all the question Scott but you seem to know a lot whats going on. Are they happy as can be for the already existing off piste trails (Buriton Trail) to still remain or is there pressure to close these as there are new legal stuff and original trail renovation?

As said before I can get some spare time I will try and get involved more.

Cool I think I know where you mean will have get me arse in gear and have a go on all your hard work. Kept up boys I will have to see if I get some spare time and join you on your dig days.

With all this work you are doing is there any plans of pushing any new/recutting trails in other parts of the park like re-vitalising the old DH track that runs down by the quarry?

Haven’t ridden QE for a while but the last time I did saw some new bits extending the A3 singletrack going to the rooty climb. Where are the bits shown in the photo’s above?

Haven’t Canyon been doing this on there road bikes already?

Did a good 38 miler over Harting down and Cocking on the new bike brambles in full effect but trails nice and dry

My firts time at Checkendon too as mentioned before the open fields bit espacailly the last bit past the feed station/finish (Soft and draggy) was the hard bit for me must work on pushing the big ring but the rest was great real good test. Had a few straight on moments on the looser corners on the downhill sections. Was runnning Advantages F&R which worked great heard a few guys cursing the summer tyres on the climbing section.

    20 to 15 to 13 open
Course was a tricky one to keep a steady pace on with all the little hollows in the singletrack but loved that open little bermed section gave you a good idea how far tyhe next riders where in front of you.

Shirley Manson always did for me (goes off to have a quite lay down)

    Hi Pants

Loved the singletrack on this course but got a little boggy in places and the climbs really hurt 8O managed 5 laps came in with 10mins to go the mind was saying 1 more lap but the legs where having non of it.

any more course condition updtaes Pants

Cheers RichJJ brake pads should last then and I won’t be washing sand and stuff out of everything for the next couple of weeks :D

@RichJJ sorry should have been a bit more accurate in any dips hollows, flat section where water can’t run off.

@dobo yes its not working for me too

    Hi Pants

I have just enter the 4hr what the course like will it be as wet as the last round?

    Harrison

was it me or did anyone else see that interesting magazine article propped up on the tree at one of the first drop ins?

Not Cbeebies but my two love Ben and Holly. Nanny Plum must have been write with parents in mind

Yeh would like to know whats its like at mo too as went up Kingly Vale which is still snow bound but the rest is thawing to a sloppy mush

Was it the one with the chicken run around?

@Jimmers It was nice having a chat with you (I was on the Haro SS 29er) I did see you go straight on at one corner I was wonder what you shouted you where going well

@mdb Yeh it was hard on the SS but really enjoyed my first time racing it but my legs will be feeling it in the morning

If you want to see David Knight doing what he does best and showing Pastrana how its done have a search for Erzberg Enduro and also see a lot of people crashing

just had quick look at metcheck and its saying snow for saturday night and light snow showers for Sunday down in here Havant but we will wait and see but I will be wrapping up nice and warm.

I take it that the ark will not be require this year  Any really boggy bits?

Thanks for the info I will keep an eye on the web site for updates. I hope that it works as I have ridden the Mach trails in Wales which is a similar thing gives you a great ride without the headache of keep stopping and looking maps and is totally different to the graded trail centre stuff.

    Hi CG

just a quicky will there be maps of the routes available at Alice Holt or on the Website or do you need to be a member to obtain these?

    Cheers

    Harrison

I read somewhere that there was a study between MTBer's and roadies and the MTBer's have a better natural cadance due to riding offroad

Just listened to JC cover of Hurt by NIN and every time I do it give the massive goose bumps love it.

If you want to see some cool MX(enduro)action the Dakar has started 10pm on eurosport

Up there yesterday too a little nippy out of the sun. Have done that on the run on the XC bike but need to get there on the Jump bike for a play. It will be pretty slippy at the mo as most of it is down to the chalk. Best way to find it is from the car park round the back and take the main fireroad up to the top and keep looking up to you right and you will see the last big drop.

A half built GS500 engine and a barrel of unknown liquid left by the last owner

MX is cool but I would say the enduro guys get my vote for coolness especailly the Paris/Dakar type events proper big bikes and big terrain. :-)

Just a little bit muddy the start straight was a bit boggy. Had to pull out after three laps and i felt good but front brake pads had gone down to the backing :( :(

wouldn't touch it with a barge pole no info on bike just size
