@john_l yeh that last lap broke me today crawled up that long gravelly climb but still enjoyed the challenge. What gearing where you running?

Done keep up the good work

Does anybody know if any one was taking photo’s at the event

agree with DrP really good course all ridable on the SS missed out a couple of the nasty climbs that they used in the past thank god as they would have got me walking. Got myself a 11th place in my cat for the 6hr really really pleased with that as it the first it I have race the SS for that length of time. Oh and a little bit sun burnt too

@bartimaeus I have to confess that one I did walk up and Truleigh Hill

Did a good 60 miles on the SS to devils dyke today seemed to a constant head wind all the way there nice reward of a pint of cider and then the train home :)

Had one of those rides this morning at QE mechanical’s galore and that wind at bit of chill in it Brrrrr. Also coming in to the switchbacks some kind sole had decided to put a branch in the middle of the first berm, as I moved it a shifty looking old couple was walking away they must have heard me say “that was a long way for that Yew branch to have blown”

    Hi Mattbee

    Cheers Chakaping

Was thinking of getting these tyres for my next set does anyone know how wide the 2.2 or 2.4’s come up in relation to 2.35 high rollers?

Move along there’s nothing to see

Yes it is on the A3 side it quite steep a the begining leading to what was a big gap jump, cross a fire road then you into nice bit singletrack

Did a bit of bimble around other parts which I haven’t done for a while nice to see the old DH trail down by the quarry being revived.

Was pretty slippy in places there today had to have a quick lie down half way through my ride :|

Don’t worry Piemonster I have just taken up the sport of hand making bread had a bit of a disaster last loaf forgot the butter :( Do you use the method of have a roasting tin of water in the bottom of the oven when baking?

make sure its a sram compatible 1.1mm cable

4 hr race for me to have swapped to Knobby Nicks, was going to SS it but not sure on what is left on the pads.

always follow your finger, never sit on a straw and never trust a cornflake especaily if it has crunchy nuts.

A few words a wise sage told me.

Hi Bikebouy your route sounds nice and would be doable for where I live do you have a GPS file for it?

You can get stop-go guages for checking the BB shell is with in tolerance from FSA which also do loads of BB30 stuff. Aslo it may not be the instaltion of the bearings that could be at faulty but the actual chainset itself.

Does anyody know if there was anybody doing photo’s etc for the 4hr race last night

Come on you firey ball in the sky show your face I don’t really want to change my tyres

Did it last year in a day started a 5am from Winchester did it in around 10 1/2 hours long day in the saddle but a great sense of achivement though

Cheers for the offer will be trying a large out tomorrow I will let you know how I got on

    Harrison

    Hi Foxy
    Cheers for the reply

Dam me and my funny shaped body I have relatively long arms and legs compare to my body about a 34″ leg so would need to go for the large to get the saddle height right without a yard of seatpost. Will see if I can fit a shorter stem as they come with 110mm and not sure if the reach will be a little to long as standard

    Hi Foxy

Just had a quick scan of your blog and the bike looks very nice. I am getting an Edict to but only the Elite verison  but slight unsure of the what size to get. What size is yours and what is your inside leg measurement and how tall are your if you don mind :-)

    Hi Guys and Girls
my employer I think runs the C2W scheme rather than the Cyclescheme does anyone know if they also offer exstention of the scheme like the Cyclescheme?

not sure wether to stick with the part worn madusa’s or fit the part worn advantages :(

Right I will be the first to ask so what are conditions like up there after this bit of rain?

I will apologise now if the weather turns grime for this one as I missed the last two and the weather was great. Was thinking of running some 2.2 advantages but if it turns damp will drag out the madusas

Had a muddy slog to QE park this morning then spent an hour with the QEPC trail builders mid ride felt really good giving a little back to the trails I have ridden for years

Muddy ride around the south downs which was ok but having a slipping seat post, snapped chain and the final insult of a puncture took the shine off it slightly :(

For me doing the whole of the SDW in a day, long day in the saddle but made bearable by the wife and kids meeting wave home made banners towards the end.

    *Waves back at aleigh*

For my sins I too live in Havant its not three bad as in a about 10 mins I can be out on the southdowns but Portsmouth/Southsea I don’t get the fasination wih people wanting live there.

I used to live onHayling Island its where old people go to die bit like an elephant graveyard.

Hay MattBee I too was once a resident of Wrexham and it did have it redeeming features like its own brewery :D
