Yeah that’ll do it, especially with all the weight you’re getting out of it.

The Single seater is a fair bit lighter I guess so you can get away with coming off the power a little as you turn left back on it 100% once it’s on the apex then nailing the brakes and sorting it out down 2 gears while trying to maintain the momentum into it.

Quarry is a nice corner to stamp on the power as soon as you’re on the apex though, no feeding in the power business, plenty of tarmac to use and kerb on the exit. Not sure how that would go down with the new rules though…

SBD build a great engine! I’ve seen a lot in single seaters and GT’s at Combe, lovely sounding!!

The Clio will be a great little car, no plans to uprate the brakes? Or just planning on some higher performance pads?

While we are posting Castle Combe Quarry pictures :)

Me in the #3, it’s bumpy on the right! Best tip is not to try and get it left while on the brakes at the left apex which is also a rise, always spits you off left. Just aim for the right hander and pitch it right :)

Olly, I tried pond chucking, it didn’t go down well with the toddler or the mother… (It was my child)

Papier-mâché fort would be fun if you have space?

I’ve got mates working in the support paddock and they are very happy by the quiet cars, they can actually talk to each other now!

A few years ago in club racing we had the quarter flag that was used to slow the whole field to 50mph. It just meant everyone caught up the leader who dictated the pace and then racing was resumed once the green flag was shown. I liked it, not sure why it was changed to a safety car…

Regarding running people wide and off the track, bring back grass and gravel traps, then it won’t seem fair game! I don’t see how it’s acceptable to just take your line when someone is next to you….

It would have been being filmed by one of these Vlog kids that flock to London to see the rich kids driving around in their latest supercar. They make some cash out of it if it gets enough youtube hits…

It’s a real shame that there is so much distrust of garages. I’m about to take over the family garage that’s been established for 42 years and we are constantly getting people coming in complaining about unnecessary work that other garages have under taken without consulting the customer, dodgy MOT failiers etc.

It just gives us all a bad name, the best bet is to go by referrals find one and stick to them. All garages need to make a profit but some (Franchises particularly) seem to try to maximise it on a customers first visit and don’t care if they see them again. I would much rather a loyal long standing customer base that comes back again and again. If you’re in or around Bookham,Surrey you are welcome here.

As above though, there are a number of things you can check yourself prior to the test, bulbs, tyres, wipers, pads and discs, dampers are free from fluid, dash warning lights. Present it in the best condition you can and let the expert ensure it’s safe. If you really think they are trying to pull a fast one you ahve the right to appeal. We have had a number of occasions when VOSA have bought us a car to test that has failed elsewhere but we have passed.

By all accounts the 1.5l BMW blocks were the oldest highest mileage road blocks they could find to ensure they were as de-stressed as possible, and they were urinated on as there was something in the pee that helped the de-stressing process.

Must have been awesome things to try and drive with qualifying tyres!

I’ve used http://www.M-Techdesigns.com cases for a while now both on 4 and 5 iPhones as have a few of my friends. Lots of drops and no damaged phones.

Not waterproof though but lovely looking and great protection. Oh and my parents make em :)

We found a good one for hitting. Rather than react and tell her off for hitting (which resulted in her copying what we were saying which sounded aweful!) we started showing her what she could do as an alternative.

“Instead of hitting mummy and daddy you should be stroking our faces.” then hold her hand and stroke your face with it. Worked a treat, no more hitting and lots of getting her face really close to ours and stroking saying “helooooooooooo”

Oh and the choosing which colour knickers etc to wear was great until she started choosing blue so we would give her blue to put on, then she would cry wanting the pink ones!

She gets what she’s given now and if there is a meltdown it’s forgotten about within a few minutes.

Some things can be made into a game, teeth brushing was a real battle until I started asking to see her teeth and brushed my finger over them making a scratchy noise saying oh no they are all dirty!

Then after she brushed them I would do the same and make a squeaky noise and lots of praise about what a good tooth brushing she did, go and show mummy how squeaky your teeth are!

As above though, sometimes it just doesn’t work and the stress isn’t worth it.

She went through a phase of not wanting to get dressed, naughty step was employed a few times which was like an instant behaviour modification (After 3 minutes of sitting there) and mostly she lets us get her clothes on, or we make a game of seeing if she can do it herself if there is time…

    All good fun! :)

Blimey a lot of road bikes above! To redress the STW balance, I’m saving for a YT Capra because it looks amazing and will fill the gap between a fleet of hardtails and a great big full suss beast.

I currently rent and will be for a few years yet I should think. Looking at this help to buy scheme seems madness to me and as far as I can tell it’s helping to fuel the increase in house prices by enabling demand while supply is still too low. Houses in my street are all going for over asking price within weeks. (Surrey)

Presumably after 5 years the government loan will need to be paid back in addition to the mortgage. Are these people supposed to be saving during this initial 5 years to pay it off or are they hoping that in 5 years time they will be earning more and be able to stand the increase in repayments? In addition to this the inevitable increase in interest rates is going to further push repayments up.

I can’t see this happening in a lot of cases so I am guessing that in 5 years time there are going to be a fair amount of repossessions. My thinking then is that there might be some houses for sale that I will be able to afford. (Currently saving for a business that hopefully will enable us to save for a house…) If the bank owns them do they use an agent in a similar way to a private sale?

Also interested in how you’re cooking the meat. I have a honeystove that would probably do a nice job of it with a bit of wood burning.

I had a chap I see most days on my commute, also on a bike. He gave me the international wheel spin beware of ice gesture after wheel spinning away from the traffic lights out of Dorking. New one on me.

I bought some dry bags from PODSACS.COM and had to pay via bank transfer. Emailed straight away to say money had been sent and to ask for confirmation, nothing for 3 days then called the support number which turned out to be Planet-X.

Spoke to Jonathan who was very helpful but completely in the dark about the process for accepting orders for podsacs(he had just returned from holiday) he then went to chat with accounts and they too were in the dark about payments coming in via bank transfer from the new site.

Any chance of sorting the procedure out so everyone is in the know please Brant? Still no confirmation btw…

    Many thanks
    Matt

I’m in Carnaby 21st to 29th, meeting some chaps for a ride in Dalby on the 23rd if you want a lift. 28th would be good for a meetup too, I fancy a bit of a tour of the moors if anyone is able/willing?

Surrey Police have a text number this Christmas for reporting drunk drivers. A similar thing to report these sort of things would be good.

If a vehicle has a company name on it I have found using their Twitter very effective at getting a response too.
