    So is this about right?
The 456 has more responsive stearing and climbs better, whilst the Summer Season descends better?

Ride most Tuesday and/or Thursday nights somewhere Farnham, Alton, Froyle, Roply way (south of you). Often ride up towards odiham, Farleigh Wallop direction.

May be able to provide a few gpx routes that go odiham, Farleigh Wallop way. Or drop me a line if you fancy coming out one night.

Normally meet at a pub, then ride approx 8:00-10:30pm then have a beer or two. Star at Bentworth is a regular start, also Royal Oak at Shalden occasionally.

It’s not suitable for very wet/muddy riding.
Tried it, it needed re-applying every ride and chain would rust unless it was dried and relubed straight after the ride.
Went back to finish line wet

    (Maxxis are great)

a garage with a non-digital airline does a good job, never succeeded with a track pump.

I did 6 months without punctures using ghetto. very impressed

“called paramedics but left the scene after providing scant details.”
so he was drink driving then?

also lied to police, claiming he had just stopped to help the victim and had not been involved in the accident.

The jump from one to two kids makes things much harder.

So how would a third affect things if you have two already?
    anyone?

It is important to get time away from family for both mum and dad and getting the balance is the key, It is expecially difficult with very young children until your in a routine. Mine are 2 & 4 and now it’s much easier.
I get one guarenteed evening/night ride a week when the kids are in bed, my wife gets the same to go swimming. Everything else is by negotiation.

I/We also tow them in the trailer at the weekend which is a very good workout.

No, I use an FSR or a tandem for towing. Neither of which have mudguards, not sure the tandem would take them either as it has a disc brake and a rack already on it.

Do you think a mudguard would help as even a full length one would probably not stop all the low down bits flicked up which are the problem

I believe it depends on the year

    05 – 07

    03 – 04 & 08

Very pleased with my SLX, 3 months in all going well

min age for trailer is approx 6-9 month but does depend on the child as they need to be able to sit up well first.
If you adapt it for a car child seat it can be younger, but you won’t get 2 in it.

no the touch can’t, unless there is free wifi where you ride 🙂

I believe an iphone can, then you could leave your phone at home too.

    worth checking b-tension

put in middle cog + largest sprocket then loosen b-tension screw until rear mech gets close to largest sprocket.

go to the showroom, and borrow some samples of what you are thinking about. They may look very different in your room due to different light, natural vs light bulbs etc

    Another tip…
It’s much cheaper to find a carpet fitter, and arrange for him to do the fitting and supply the underlay grippers etc. Mine even picked the carpet up for me as he works one day a week for the carpet showroom.

Had JRA wheelmilk in the tyre, although It had been in 4 months without top up.
It was a thorn hole, deflated the tyre in about a minute, I could hear the hiss riding along.
I’ll have a go and see if I get anywhere reusing it.
    Cheers

The rear is on wiggle but now also £78.25, to find it you need to search for “rear slx”

£55 without discs and adaptors, mind.

Got mine from wiggle last week and they came with 160 adapters

    HantsNightRider
    Free Member

    Another vote for SLX
Currently £55 an end at wiggle without adapters and discs, allowing you to select your own adapters / discs
don’t forget to update your details and get £5 off. If you do 2 seperate orders with £5 off then you can get a set of SLX brakes for under £100

NB Rear doesn’t show on website but if you search for it, then it comes up.

On a Tandem MTB, staying in B&B’s in 3 days, following the sustrans route. but Newcastle ending not Sunderland
Used big semi-slicks, am sure low tread summer tyres would be fine.
