you need yellow tape, valves and sealant. Not sure if the valves of the stumpy would work with the Stans rims

    Hi Noodle,

I live in Froyle, the other side of Alton. I normally ride 1-2 evenings a week starting at 8 with a few others from around the Alton area. Rides are at a friendly social pace. Normally 12-17 miles in about 2 – 2 1/2 Hours depending on who’s out and trail conditions.
Few routes here – website is very much a work in progress, but does have a few around the Alton area.

You are welcome to come along and try a new route or two out, and a beer or two after.

PS. Think I know the boggy bridleway you mean near Chawton 🙂

IIRC from a few years ago

    (Price + postage ) +
5% duty on bike parts +
20% VAT on top of that
    + handling charge.

so for $600oz that would be $156oz + handling charge

Note, does depends what they are classified as
duty on bike parts is approx 5%
duty on complete bikes however is somthing like 18%
Not sure if lights will classify as bike parts or not.

I imported a frame + parts and had the Spanish inquisition as to if it was parts or a complete bike.

You also need a cone spanner and a 10mm allan key, but you can use an old chain instead of a chain whip.

Given whats involved, £40 seems reasonable. I would ask if it includes new bearings.

May be a good time to upgrade to a better wheel?

not worth me driving there, it would be quicker cycling than putting the bike in the car

I go to the main car park with the kids, but I have an annual permit to park there free.

I ride there as I am local, not worth driving.

You have to pay for parking at the Alice Hot Cafe/picnic area, but there is limited free parking on the south side of Abbotts wood. Just above the d of frithend on the 1:50 Map North end of Cradle lane. You can start there and visit the cafe mid ride, the cafe car park also closes at night.

Cradle lane has a nice ford to clean your bike if required 🙂

    Devient,
I drag my kids up the zip-zag path now 🙂
The side of Selborne hill that the Zig-Zag path is on is all footpaths. The route I do goes over the back of Selborne Hill. I start from the car park at the bottom of the Zig-Zag path, taking a road around to the bridleway. From there to Noar Hill,Hawkley etc. email me if you want a jpg of the OS 1:50 route

That’s Abbotts Wood enclosure, that side of Alice Holt is all wide fireroads I thought, maybe I need to explore off-piste

I have both 1:25 of the area I frequently ride and 1:50 of a wider area. I agree 1:25 is very useful for fiddly criss crossing trails, especially at night if you get a bit lost.

I bought viewranger with about £25 of 1:25 maps and got £15 over the air downloads which I used for downloading 1:50. This got a big area of 1:25 and a huge area of 1:50, with spare credit for 1:50 downloads as required.

If you want online 1:50 OS map route creation, checkout the new ViewRanger site. The my.viewranger.com site now allows you to create routes online using your purchased 1:50 OS Maps, then save and sync to iphone.
    Couldn’t be easier.
You can sync recorded tracks back, tweek them on OS Maps and save as routes also.

Yes, some of the deal extreme lights come that sort of battery
They are heavy, and on mine the LED display broke within days of receiving it, however, the battery does still work.

You did everything correct, except go for a ride, this continues the sloshing and will seal up any leaks.

Second hand Ridgeback Scoot (from STW about £50 IIRC) has served my son well.
Just need to get him to ride his bike with pedals now he’s 4 1/2, he just loves the balance bike too much

    Relube with finish line wet.
If bike is very dirty, chain gets hosed with water rest of bike, wiped dry, GT 85, wiped, lubed with finish line wet. Job done.

I thought the section from Frensham Manor to Great Pond was fairing the weather well when I rode it last week. It’s been much worse in previous years, but it has rained a lot in the last week.

Interested in the meetings, but 6:30 is a really difficult time for me due to having kids, if it was an hour or so later it would be much easier to get to.

    <hijack>
I regularly ride this and surronding area’s with a group of friends normally Tuesday nights, all welcome.

Glad to hear it still lives on

SSS well impressed, not sure I'd attempt that on a solo, deffo not on a tandem.

When I first took our original tandem out, we went down the road and failed to make the corner at the bottom, as my girlfriend (now wife) tried to keep the bike bolt upright which prevented it turning the corner. Was a steep learning curve. Most important things is communication.

Current Tandem not used often as new little-un is too small, and trying to work out if a childseat and 2 in the trailer is gonna work 🙂

how big is the original file, and what format do you want it in?
May be able to do it for you if it's not too big using OJOsoft total video convertor.

It's more economical as our current scenic, being diesel not petrol, co2/tax is slightly more however.
807 (2003-) got 5 ncap stars c8 and fiat haven't been tested but are the same chassis/VINs as the 807 so says the ncap report so should also be 5 stars.
Our current scenic gets 4 stars
So it's safer than our current car
our other little car (my commuter) only gets 3 stars!

Yes, the 4 1/2 goes on a booster in the middle as we have no other choice, the 3 yr old is in an isofix front facing seat on one side and the 0yr old is in a rear facing car seat.
It takes a long time to get them in the car, doing the buckles up is very difficult as you can't get to them as the car seats are in the way.
And then the double buggy (3 wheeler twin) doesn't fit in the boot with the dog.
Currently have an older shape French Renault Scenic, and only bits to fall off have been due to me scrapping the car against stationary objects.

like Moses said, Statutary Declaration is the way to go, easy and Cheap.

My wife and I changed our surnames after we got married adding the Mc from her surname to mine to make McRiley.

Had a few issues with Orange refusing to change the name on my mobile, but they saw sense eventually. Apart from that it was easy to change it with everyone, you just send them a photocopy of the declartion.
