Iolo – I am meeting my BiL and his family and the salt mines are on the list – esp if it rains… 😀

    BiL is from Vienna….

Though not too sure on MTB places….

Kaprun is 45mins away…..so very do-able….did you bike hire from Kaprun?

Bit more digging suggests no one seems to really know….

Some comments about the 63 to 66 being for FS bikes and 66 to 69 being for 29ers…..

I assume no-one of here sure either??

The way they are specific to the stealth, accounting for any variance in design, is amazing. Thanks.

I also like the way they advise you on retaining oil to try to avoid a bleed. So again, thanks.

They are building back orders this week………..apparently……been bugging them for a couple of weeks 😀

Rims arrived last Thursday……building wheels filling back orders since……end of the week if you/we are lucky……..

Have we considered that this is a made up story with the objective of seeking attention due to being bored?

Agree – it is a people thing and not an activity thing.

Sherwood with the family today and plenty of nobbers hare-ing around over cross sections, going the wrong way on the trail and past the kids making them wobble (more)……

It is just people…..many are fools.

    Poppy-cock. 😉

Jacobs is a great descent and the climb up to Mam is fine (in the dry).

Any which way….if you can do potato then Jacobs will be fine all rollable and if you keep to a speed you are comfy at then all bail-able or do-able on inspection…..

Watch the drop / steep roll right at the top. It is on the cusp of rollable…..IMO

    Enjoy

PS Cavedale to by far and away the hardest descent that I have seen and done in Peak….

    OK.

    Had a weldite repair kit.

Used a patch – just bigger than rip.

    If this fails…..any better kits?

Gonna be mud wherever you go…..its just about minimising it.

I would start in Hope…..but if from Fairholmes:

Up to Hagg Farm from car park just up from main FH car park
Down Hagg decent across to that BW you mentioned
    Up that BW you mentioned
    Down to Roman Road
    Up to Hope Cross
Across and then down Potatoe Alley
    Up lockerbrook farm climb
    Down screaming…..
    Done.

If not enough then would be tempted to fly down the roman road into hope then climb back up it.

The path was drying up on Sunday and was rideable just. Seems to have got steeper since the logging.

Dry all this week so far so I would say that it would be a good link up to the RR this weekend.

The BW down is a bit gloopy as are sections of the Hope Brink…..will take a while for these to dry up.

WLT will surely be a good route to avoid if you have trail survival in your DNA……

Not done Glentress or Inners, no.

In a location where it is likely to be cold and wet as we go in November……..it is nice to stick to way marked trails…..that way you know where you are going and know you will be back on schedule…..

Usually ride the Peaks Trail Centres 😉

Horas 2nd piccy does not look like it is at that South Head BW/path juntion…….but hey ho.

The black dotted line indicates path and not footpath though, right? So as it is not a red dotted line it goes under ‘fair game’ in my glossary of terms….

Hora – where is that second photo? Is it the footpath above the Rushups Edge BW??

That black dotted line is a good way to cut out a pretty ordinary part of the loop. Boggy first part but the slabby climb is quite good fun…….The relaid first third of the climb to Jacobs was fresh when I last did it and the bike just sunk into it. Not rideable for me.

I do like the ‘natural’ climb up otherwise but the first part makes it worth cutting out IMHO.

    Wear and tear, yes.

But if things don’t work……should they be sold as features that do work in a sales pitch?

He taken it back and the guys comments included….

‘its second hand, what do you expect?’ 😀

I had already given my mate a bit of ‘fit for purpose, you had said it all worked’ kind of comments to use….

My mate is now on hols for a week and the guy said ‘we will discuss it when you returns’…..though he did also say ‘we will see what we can do’. Car has been left at dealer.
