I fitted the fsa one earlier in the year to my cannondale jekyll, not had any problems so far.
Tapped the old bb out from the opposite side then pressed in the fsa with the loctite supplied.
First ride on the new to me Whyte t129 today , easy ride to make sure everything is ok with it . Just need some decent tyres before it does any proper rides . Felt good straight away , needing only a few tweaks .
Thanks guys, I’m really looking forward to getting out on it when it arrives . No doubt it will be a noticeable difference to my 160mm bike but I’m going to be doing more natural Xc rides in future and maybe some non competitive events if fitness allows.
Thanks for the replies so far , @ digger95 thanks for the reply , im also in South Wales but im coming from a 160mm bike. Looking for something more xc/trail and like the look of the 129.
That’s the one , thanks both. Apart from the link to cotic do you know where I can get more info please ,tried pedalabikeaway site but couldn’t find anything.
The rear mech can cause issues with back pedalling on the largest cassette cog if the b screw isn’t adjusted properly as the jockey wheels can foul on the cassette teeth.
Thanks for the offer but I’m in South Wales . It will be replacing my 27.5 160mm jekyll as I’m not doing the riding to warrant it anymore , will be doing more natural Xc rides in future.
I have a xt 11-46 on my bike and it doesn’t drop the chain when back pedalling. The b screw is normally the culprit it tends to be sensitive to adjustment.
The only ones I can remember with that type of fitting was the eveready ones, loads on eBay. More up to date retro style lamps are available if your prepared to use a different fitment or make some type of adapter.
