Loads to look at so far , thanks all.

Walking wise I guess would be between 5 & 8 miles of moderate terrain, and mtb routes would be anything up to a few hours riding. I’ve been looking at a cottage in Hope , is there much there in the way of pubs etc..

Thanks guys, we’re looking into accommodation in those areas suggested, any other ideas are most welcome.

    thanks

As a warm up I would do melted welly into bluebell into bush whacker, then sixtapod into willy waver , after that if you confident with those any of the blues and reds would be good especially Terry’s belly , have fun .

Thanks , I’m not fussy at all , don’t mind shopping around for different bits . I’ll have to widen my search I think. Thanks again.

Deore probably is the answer but I’m probably looking in the wrong place as I can’t find much in the way of 10 spd .

Don’t mind whether it’s 1 or 2 x , reason for 10 spd is my Jekyll didn’t run as smoothly as I would like when I fitted a 1 x 11 on it so that’s gone on my t129 now.

I was feeling exactly like that for a long time not just in the winter , just after xmas I started taking a liquid iron and vitamin supplement and I have already found a notable difference. It is called floradix if you think it might help you.

Thanks for the replies so far guys , loads to think about there. I will be trying before I buy so I’ll be looking for a localish shop , somewhere in Cardiff will probably be my best bet. Thanks again.

I’m surrounded by mountains where I live so hopefully once I get my fitness up I’ll be running up those.

Not sure but maybe the freehub is on its way out . My formula branded hub did something similar.

Having not ridden much at all this year for one reason or another I have set myself a goal for 2018. After I get a bit of fitness back I’m hoping to complete a MTB ride I have in mind through the Brecon Beacons which I think would be around 75 miles, which is far more than I have ever done before in 18yrs riding . Wish me luck

I had a very bad bout of sciatica a few years ago , I had a job to walk let alone anything else it also kept me awake at night . Got fed up being stuck in the house and decided to give the bike a try , to my surprise it was the only thing I could do the was virtually pain free. I’d say go for it but be careful as everyone is different.

I’m now pretty sure I’ll be getting the flyte , I’m swayed by the 28000 breathability rating as I’m a heavy sweater .

    Thanks guys

The flyte does look like a really good option and still on budget as well.

However, my recent purchase of MTR II shorts has put my faith back in Endura once more, so I’m tempted to look at their jackets, but I wouldn’t expect much for £60.

It has a rrp of £114 so at £57 it’s half price.

I wasn’t expecting it to be one of those boil in the bag jackets considering the rrp, another option was the madison zenith waterproof, 15000 waterproof and breathability.

I’m currently looking at the 7idp m5 , looks nice but can’t find much in the way of reviews yet . Might just go ahead and get one anyway.

The most comfortable liner shorts I’ve used are the troylees which came with my ace shorts , not sure if you can get them separate though.

Butcher/purgatory grid on my 29er, had the same combo on my 650b jekyll , great tyres in my opinion. Had a wtb trail boss at first on the jekyll and had trouble with pinch flats. I’ve learnt my lesson over the years and stick with what I know works for me , the money I’ve lost on other tyres which I haven’t got on with far exceeds any savings I might have made .

Has anyone got any good recommendations of books or podcasts that have helped them during bad times?

Just found these , not looked at them myself yet though.

I’m a bit far away from you but if you find yourself in South Wales ( I’m near cwmcarn ) give me a shout , I’ve also suffered from depression for the last 16 yrs.

P.s I also love coffee and cake :-)

I think the spesh hillbilly is over the kilo mark, I use butcher front purgatory rear both in grid , gripton versions.
