I’ve noticed that recent Pixels (6 & 8, I’m a fanboi) can be touchy about cables in a way other phones aren’t, so a “proven” cable may not be as good as you think. As a suggestion, try clearing the bottom of the port using a fine wire, it collects dust and the like, and it probably won’t harm to try IPA (the alcohol not the beer) to flush.

Yes, I had thought of converting as the obvious answer, but…..

Don’t underestimate the challenge of riding much slower than natural. Riding around with this littl’un I managed to have a full-on sideways clipless moment a while back: “Grandad’s fallen off his bike”

Then, which? I have two possible candidates, both Croix de Fer, so theoretically entirely viable for the purpose. The stainless one is set up for touring, has guards and drops, is my go-to for rides. Off road enabling would make it a fairly major faff any time I wanted to use for its intended purpose.

That leaves the titanium one, which I have built from ground up into what (IMHO) is the ultimate commuter…. has to be an excuse to post a picture. Groupset is the Shimano Metrea, a commuter specific oddity a few years back, 2 x 11, – not sure if it is still made. Those bull horns? They’re hydraulic brifters.

Anyhow, that’s got guards on, too, and the gearing isn’t really going to be great for off road, although as I no longer commute it is a real option. But, as it is a total blast to ride on the road, I’m not that keen. Had I still been working, n+1 would have been a slam dunk, but now I’m retired, that is no longer a convenient option. So, a swap seems like a sensible thing if viable. It needs a like-minded but MTB oriented person to make it work, which is why I joined here.

I’ve got a personal affection for my Boker which is a gentleman’s knife, as it is only 2 1/2″ blade, and a cyclists knife as it is titanium. It’s also illegal because it’s A lock knife bit you can’t have everything.

Ok, to be honest I’m not that concerned to tell everyone about it, but I do need to find out if I can actually post to this forum, this seemed as good as any for an excuse.
