Nessun dorma when it was used for Italia ’90, if it can be classed as ‘a tune’.

I’ve had them in both my pairs of wheels for the last 6 months combined with WTB tough casing tyres. I fitted them after putting a ding in an expensive set of Mavic wheels first ride out 😕
Since fitting them I hear far fewer rim dingers and have not marked either set of wheels until last weekend when riding ‘the black’ at Antur Stiniog (very rocky) repeatedly and then only one small ding.

If you’re going to the Alps for chairlift stuff I’d just stick on a pair of Maxxis dual-ply tyres.

I also noticed that in the other thread and thought that this really isn’t a mountain bike site any more.
I ride my mountain bike for probably 95% of my rides, mainly because I find it a lot more fun than road riding and l can’t really see a point at which this will change.
I am just about to go out for a road ride, but only because my mountain bike’s rear shock is away for warranty work.

I use a thermarest and a decent sleeping bag in all seasons up in Scotland and have never been so cold I couldn’t sleep. Heavy rain has woken me in both my car and my tent and I’ve always managed to get back to sleep.
Sleeping in a car is not as bad as people think, but it is reallly only suitable for a few days.

I do it fairly often in a Seat Alhambra with all the rear seats removed, which provides plenty of room for a couple of bikes and myself. I generally only do it for one night and just park up at trail centres or isolated car parks.
If you can’t find a shower and you’re doing a few nights, wet wipe showers aren’t really up to the job, especially if you are out riding all day!……edit….it’s never bothered me, but possibly others 😳
As others have said, campsites don’t like people kipping in their cars.

Imagine one of those observation wards that are pretty small and have about 8 beds, now imagine it really busy at visiting time. This is when a junior doctor decided it would be a good time to ask me about my sexual history over the previous few years……and his parting comment as he opened the curtains…..”because I think you may have SYPHALIS”

…………everybody in the room was staring at me 😳

It turns out I has staphylococcus septicaemia (or something like that) from an insect bite and ended up in a pressurised room for a few days being pumped full of lots of anti-biotics.

The only person I know who has his cars remapped also tends to blow up engines. I’m happy with the performance of my Seat Alhambra as it is and hopefully it runs for many more miles.

    Chakaping.
I’ve pushed up Bealach a Choire Garbh from the bothy a few times and rejoined the Annat descent. I’m not sure I’d enjoy it as a descent…….is it not a bit ‘picking your way down’ rather than the ‘letting it go’ of the Annat and Achnashellach descents?

The lollipop route gets the two classic Torridon descents from their highest points. I had to google the mbr route and would not bother with it myself, especially if you’ve done the lollipop the day before.
Go and do Loch Damph on the second day.

Start off by making children more active. Isn’t it true that an active child is more likely to stay that way in adulthood.
    Loads of P.E. at school.
Make being active more interesting/cooler than sedentary pastimes (no idea how to do this).
Stop ferrying kids here, there and everywhere.
……make bullying the fat kid at school acceptable again 😆

    Torridon was pretty average today.
The descents were actually a bit too dry and loose for my liking

    Hose riding!

Simple solution, go for a ride on your own. If they want to go to a retail park, then let them.

Vigilante light high-grip and Trail Boss tough fast rolling for dryer and all day stufff
Convict light high-grip and Vigilante tough fast rolling for steeper/wetter stuff.

Ex Maxxis fanboi who is very impressed with WTB.

Rode the steep stuff at Ballater today. I was riding well until I clipped a tree which planted me straight into another one. I’d just mentioned to my mate that it was the first time in ages that I felt a fullface might have been in order!

    All glued back together now.

At the moment something by Fenwicks that has a blue lid and is waxy for the chain. When it’s wet I’ll put Finishline Green on for every ride.
Stanchions…..nothing. I wipe them down when muddy and service them regularly.

I finished nights this morning so went for an early evening spin on Corrennie Moor. The light was fantastic.

    I also nearly managed a full house on Strava…..managed to get 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th place cups in one ride……….I know, ‘cool starry bra!’

As with Scotroutes I’d happily concrete it over.

Driving is a chore that takes me to places where I’ll have fun or do essential stuff. What joy it would be to key in your destination and then spend the next hour, two or six chatting, reading a book, watching a film, admiring the view or getting some sleep.
    The sooner the better.

I bought one to replace my 26″ Nukeproof Mega TR and it was been a revelation.
It’s better at techy climbs, descends everything better, doesn’t hook-up through rough stuff…etc, etc. On my very first ride I was between 5% and 10% quicker on every descent.
About the only thing it’s not as good at are long fire road climbs…….like I care about them 😀

Absolutely lovely day today in Aberdeenshire, only slightly marred by an utterly miserable walker intent on an argument.

What did they want to ague about? I’ve ridden around there many times and never had anything but cheery smiles from the walkers.

This was near to the summit of Millstone Hill from the North.

Walker: what’s the point of pushing up here if you can’t ride down the other side?
Me: I can ride down the other side.
Walker: well you shouldn’t, it’s a walkers path!
Me: I know it’s going to be busy, so I’m going down a different path.
Walker: well what’s the point if you have to push all the way up?
Me: I can ride virtually all of it, this last 100m is all I can’t manage.
Walker: well I still don’t see the point of bringing a bike into the hills!
Me: isn’t it great that we’re all different

Everyone else just seemed to be happy to be out in the sun.

A nice and dry’ish ride at Pitfichie today. All the trails are running well at the moment.

No doubt it is going to piss it down just in time for all the Enduro’ists in a few weeks time.

I’ll probably ride local again tomorrow to take advantage of the unusually dry trails at this time of year.
