Bring back Earthed is what I say.

I still watch them every now and again, 4 and 5 are brilliant.

Modern stuff, ‘Vital Raw’ is the best by far for me.

Anything north of Inverness seems to be a lovely mellow Scottish accent with a hint of Scandinavian the further north you go, beautiful.
A strong scouse accent physically repulses me.

I witnessed something similar many years ago, although the fall backwards was caused by a punch. I didn’t have to do a lot, other than moniter, as, although totally unresponsive, the guy still had a pulse and was breathing. Unfortunately the guy died a few days later from the massive head injury he sustained.
For a while, like you, I wondered if I could have done more, but eventually I realised that he was probably brain dead when his head hit the floor.
At the trial the judge thanked me for my efforts and outside the court the lads mothers stopped me and thanked me for trying to do something.
As others have said, the guys family will be grateful that you acted.

A quick spin on the steep stuff around Ballater tonight. First time I’ve ridden the trails since I knocked myself out on one of them. I felt a little tense to start but was beginning to relax on the last run.

Probably High Burnside and Laggan tomorrow and Wales next week 8)

30×32 really isn’t a sensible option for anyone other than a strong rider for loaded touring (which the bike is designed for!)

Tourers definately need nice and low gears. I did a wee tour of the West Coast of Scotland a few years ago on my Genesis Croix de Fer with its original gearing (34×25). Rather than a leisurely cruise it felt like a ferry to ferry time trial each day.
Lesson learned for next time. 😆

    M62 J12 heading West.
Its nothing special, but when I get there it means that I’ve made it through the chaos of the M61/M60/A580/M62 interchange on my way to Wales.

In the past you’ve talked about having issues riding steep, rocky, fast trails, the risk involved and the possible consequences. Maybe, subconsciously, you don’t want to ride the new bike as it is putting you back into that position.

The only things that have broken in 12 years are the little tags on the zips, replaced by cheap ones from Mountain Whorehouse.

……..”honestly I only went so I could empty my sack” 😯

Although I’m surprised they touched it………

there’s some mould stains where it say dirty and unloved for 6 months after a crash.

If it’s any consolation I spent 10mins trying to force brake fluid up from rear SLX calliper to the lever, before realising I’d attached the bleed funnel to the front lever…..

Also guilty of this 😳 😳

Genuinely, my current one, a Vitus Sommet Pro. It is better, at just about all aspects of the riding that I do, than any other bike I have ridden.
My riding mate says that it is noticeable how much more relaxed I am on this bike than all my previous bikes.

This evening on Millstone Hill in Aberdeenshire.

If it’s unclipping as you move about that you are worried about then have a read about HT pedals.
I thought about trying something other than Crank Brothers when my last set wore out, but just ended up buying another set of Mallets.

I don’t know how to do GPX stuff, but that is a link to the ride around Bealach Horn that I did in August ’15…….although I started from Kylestrome and added a wee bit more.

There will also be the Tollie Path and Loch-na-Oyde ride from May this year.

If you can’t see the link send me a follow request. Edit….assuming you are on Strava 😀

I rode the Tollie Path and the Loch-nah-Oidhche out and back as one ride, starting at Gairloch, earlier this year. The Tollie Path is not in that bad shape with only a couple of get off and pushes from me.

For me the riding was about the views. Sorry about the poor quality of the camera phone pictures

Took my boss and his son for a spin around Pitfichie on Friday. I think I’m going to be getting all the crap jobs for a while after convincing them to have a go at the DH track
Bennachie and Millstone Hill solo today and feeling really good, 22miles and 4600ft of climbing.

I bought a SKS Rennkompressor track pump which i guess is relatively expensive. I’ve had it twenty years and other than one new head it’s been trouble free and showing no other signs of giving up on me.

Mine is only about 12 years old, but has had a lot of use.

Quick spin around Glenlivet after work on Friday with a work colleague who has just started mountain biking. When I say quick, I mean pretty slow, but he did well and managed all the climbs……..he nearly puked though 😆

Solo on Millstone and Bennachie for me today trying very hard to go fast and realising I may have reached my descending limits, I seem to have plateaued and just cannot go any faster 😕

    Drumtochty or Scolty Hill tomorrow.

They should just ban the blooming things(possible exceptions for Police /rescue dogs and sheepdogs, guide dogs etc). Get every dog in the country neutered, stop imports and the problem would be over in around 15 years. The parks and streets would be cleaner and there’d be a lot less whinging every November too.

I got snowed in there for three days when heading to Las Vegas with the RAF in 2007. I basically spent three days being given money to go and drink beer in the Salty Sea Dog. For some reason I don’t really remember a lot about the experience…….other than the beer in the Salty Sea Dog was good.
    Sorry, not much help.

Bizarrely, the best piece of advice I was ever given about the opposite sex was from my first boss (female and hot)……”beware of women, they are all out to trap you, be careful!”
I think I may have taken it a little to heart.

If you decide to hike up Halfdome in Yosemite take grippy shoes and grippy, rubber palmed gloves, the rock and metal rope ladder are polished smooth. If you do go for any hikes set off very early to avoid the daytripper crowds.
    Edit
Halfdome wasn’t balloted when I went…. I can understand why it is though, there were huge queues at midday and it looked chaotic and dangerous.
