Is there anybody going who’ll be driving down A316? It’d be nicer to fetch a lift than a train from Feltham.

That’s what a mate uses all the time. But choosing an mp3 player better than winamp also helps. Foobar seems louder and clearer.

Yuba and Kona, can they be used off-road? Can a rear disc be fitted?
Where can I get just the frame?

If I launch rockets from my flat onto your neighbourhood, will you tolerate it? Will you be talking about rights of minority? Or will you bomb the hell out of me with the biggest bomb/rocket you have?

If my memory serves me correctly, the Jews lived there some 2000+ years ago, something I read in the Bible. Palestinians lived there too, but saying that Jerusalem is a holy Islamic-only place so the Jews need to be killed is a bit rich. And that’s what Hamas seems to be saying. Why rich? Has anybody bothered to check the origins of Islam as a religion?

Muhammad (c. 570 ñ June 8, 632) was an Arab religious, political, and military leader who founded the religion of Islam
as a historical phenomenon. Muslims view him not as the creator of a new religion, but as the restorer of the original, uncorrupted monotheistic faith of Adam, Abraham and others. In Muslim tradition, Muhammad is viewed as the last and the greatest in a series of prophets ó as the man closest to perfection, the possessor of all virtues.[35] For the last 23 years of his life, beginning at age 40, Muhammad reported receiving revelations from God. The content of these revelations, known as the Qur’an, was memorized and recorded by his companions.[36]

So maybe, instead of bombing Israel, who won’t give in ever, Hamas should re-read Qur’an and go back to peaceful co-existance, like they did it when Jerusalem collapsed undertheir siege.
I don’t condone anybody there, but given Israel have nukes I’d think at least twice before attacking them.

I’ll do my best to turn up. If my lungs stop hurting and producing green gelly men ;-)

BTW I’ve been off the bike for 5 weeks now, will it kill me?

I’d look for a complete bike, say a singlespeeded MTB. I sold mine a while ago for about £100, much less than a build-up. Check here, maybe even Retrobikes. Or ride the one you use to the ground and then buy something better.

I still think the original B17 by Marin was as good an any single-pivot Orange of nowadays. Shocks have made a massive difference, but the basic suspension systems (single pivot and Horst Link) are still brill.

I’ve posted frames from my local PO no problem. But it’s cheaper most of the times to use someone like Parcel2Go (they use DHL service).

Riding along a creek last Spring I unclipped my right foot and tried to put the left one down. Waist-deep in March, lovely :-)

RR is right – a Fox fouls the mount, just checked mine. Lovely bike butthe post is ugly. Surely someone can make it prettier, can’t they?

I have no experience of XTR chainsets so decided to ask. Following the information gathered I’d be mad to go for it. It’ll be XT from Brant or SLX from Stif.

BTW An acquaintance of mine is selling her M960 and I can have it for £75 posted. She rode it for a few days only (of which I’m sure). That prompted my thinking of it.

    Thanks a lot!

Just don’t get any points – I have 5 and the cost of car insurance stops me from buying one. Motorbike is cheap though and can kill you more easily so a better buy ;-)

That isn’t good news. Will need to get down to LBS (Craption Bikes) to see. Or maybe, God forgive for I am about to say, Evans.

And I think SLX looks nicer.

SLX can be had new for £80, XT new for £120. The only 2nd hand alternative I’d consider for my wife’s bike (it’s a birthday pressie) is XTR M960/970 that on ebay sells for approx. £80.

Will I be buying a better chainset if I choose the last option or shall I go for the SLX? I don’t want to buy a new XT as it’s over my budget (if she doesn’t like my choice she can have my XT anyway).

So, a brand spanking new SLX or a second-hand XTR? Why?

    Hairychested

New XT is too expensive for my liking. SLX or even LX of old is much cheaper. M970 sometimes can be had for some £70 hence the question.

Crickey! So it’s between a 2nd hand XTR and new SLX. Any suggestions?

Azonic Stealth is wide. Got mine from CRC and it’s now on a can’t-be-bothered-to-be-sensible bike. It’s my 3rd set BTW.

I started learning to drive in October 2007, passed the test in April 2008. Took the practical 3 times before succeeding as I was a real muppet behind the wheel. Terry, my instructor, was from AA and he’s great. Bit more expensive than some, £300 for 12hrs, but a new car, loads of patience and very good teaching skills.
I’d say go for a fully accredited and qualified instructor. There is a massive difference with cycle training, so with driving it must be even bigger.

If I convert the hub to 10mm axle, what should I use to hold the wheel in dropouts? The bolts?

Sorry to be jumping in but what can be done to a Prophet? The hub can be converted to a 10mm thingy, but will it fit?
