Mark, the forum says “author” and displays the name of the last poster. Can you have a look at it once you stop defending the right decision which you made despite wrong reasoning behind it? Thanks.

A nice suit can be had for £100 from M&S, it’ll fit well and look good. Dress up, polish your shoes, wear long black socks and ensure clean nails.

If they wanted to see your Panama shorts and t-tank top they would’ve asked.

Let’s wait for our H&S Brigade to implement the rule over here. And let’s ban colours darker than bright red ;-)

Sometimes a stack of washers does the job, bit on the frame it won’t be easy. Ask at Retrobikes maybe?

I remember visiting my Dad’s friend who had this cool hi-fi system in the converted loft. I was into G’n’R, Metallica, Slayer, Sepultura etc. so she told me to make myself comfortable on a sofa, close my eyes and listen. And I heard the best till then and still one of the very best recordings – Deep Purple with an Orchestra. Vinyl LP, soft sound, genius. No CD has ever given me the same sensation as that vinyl disc. MP3’s don’t come near either.
MP3 format is convnient but doesn’t rock my boat. I’m too old for it.

Get the job. Blag, lie, con, just get it. You almost cannot be fired unless you make a serious effort over and over again.

I can’t do it either normally. Managed a wheelie twice last year for some 3 seconds either time. Even worse with a bunny hop :-(

I thought for a local boy you were massively too fast, then I noticed 500% thing. Good to know there are locals here (not only from Kingston or Surbiton, that is). Are you coming this Saturday?

    I can’t complain really either.
Only a bit of hassle related to my cycle training scheme’s insurance to deal with (anybody knows such things?) and a contract to renew (I’m in a strong position) to have peaceful 2-3 years ahead.
My family is happy (mother-in-law hates me though), my bikes are ok, my motorbike is nearly fixed. And the rent is not too bad either.
Maybe next year I manage to go skiing again…

I was in the same position a while ago when my GP decided I had asthma from riding my bike all the time. Some of you lot helped me with advice and… another GP says I don’t have asthma but a chest infection. Medications – have a cuppa, she said, and watch some telly. What it means MikeTually might be right questioning his GP, but unless he’s certain GP is wrong he should go and get X-rayed.
WCA, was it the same lady who had your “possibly mine” really fit daughter? ;-) Respect!

SS the bike, you’ll love it!. Get a proper wheel when you can too and a half-link chain from Charlie.
BTW Riding wet boarded walks along a creek on 1.25″ slicks and 20″ flat bars will be entertaining.

I’m coming for sure, won’t feel good at all – chest infection not yet cured, but miss my bike and really want to see the madness called STW Forum Live.

As I’m coming by train from Feltham, do I hop off in Ascott or where? And what tyres?

There is a good ski shop down the road from Kingston, someone surely knows the one – near a bike shop. Anyway, they used to support Team GB and when I was choosing my skis they told me to check manufacturer’s suggestions as they vary a bit. I ended up buying Blizzard SkiCross 10 or something from a shop in Scotland. Great on rough pistes of Poland as well as smooth well-prepared ones in Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic. Kinda Cannondale Prophet of skis I reckon.
Basically – seek help from good shops, take your time and buy skis you really want. Have fun!

Not sure about making P7 torches into dedicated bike lights I’m afraid. I sold my £200 Hope HID because the P7 torches offer more light for less outlay. They will last a little over an hour on a single cell & swapping cells takes a few seconds so why bother…?
I run with a P7 on the bars & one on my helmet. They offer about 1300 lumen for an outlay of about £70. Reality is an insane amount of light for the money, & mine are on the lower settings for most of my rides.

    Shopping list below…

    1 of these
    2 of these
    1 of these
    1 of these (Bar mount)
1 of these (Helmet mount – if compatible but doesnt work too well with a Giro Xen)

Pic of my bar mounted P7 with an extra large ‘O’ ring I use to make it a bit more secure.
Pic of the beam from mine. I tried to get an accurate picture but I’m no pro photographer so make your own mind up.

    Hope it helps.

Can regular rechargeable batteries and charger be used with it? I have loads of them for my cameras and gadgets so it’d be good.

I’ve been long sold on Manitous. I also had some Magura forks in the past and they were good enough for everything I threw at them. Having spoken to Magura guys recently I’d still consider them a good long-term purchase.

Would you like a chainset with a brand new bottom bracket? I can find ISIS in the box or chainrings if you prefer.
