My mate does and it sounds awful. Cannot power proper floorstanders, sounds flat and boring. For audio I prefer Rotel, home cinema – Denon. Given a choice I’d skip Onkyo and chose Marantz, but that’s just me.

SKF ISIS bottom brackets have been on some of my bikes for a couple of years plus and no problems ever. With Middleburn cranks, when I forgot I’d removed the bolts, there was no play for many a mile. Get some!

What happens if your riding one of those £69.99 full sussers from Halfrauds you’ll have to find somewhere to fit the tax disc

If that’s the case than you don’t ride, you have a bike.

WCA is loooovely, serves gin and rides a weird bike. Clearly, the same sensible bloke from the forum ;-)

The CRC don’t have them in stock whilst Mtn Trax will do it for not much more than cost. Besides, why not support the shop so strongly recommended by C_G?

I’m down in Hampton TW12, but as Mountain Trax are so nice (and one of them is present on the forum IIRC) they’ll have my money. Thanks for the offer anyway.

My local bike shop wants £12.99 for each hose plus 1hrs’ labour – £50. No way! I’ve just rung Mountain Trax, spoken to Chris and they’ll do it.
Why not do it myself? Hoses, oil, time and patience – all missing. Besides, if a BS earn a few quid I won’t suffer whilst I might contribute to the local economy a tiny bit. Besides, I’ll have a good reason to go there very soon :-)

Miketually – to get a British passport is a piece of cake. Pretty much anyone can have it.
RB – so why do you Brits allow them to call you whatever they please if they’re so blooming sensitive?
It’s the British belief that as a former Empire you should feel guilty, if the media are to be trusted (I know, a big IF). Therefore, if you go to Pakistan you obey their rules, if you go to USA, you respect their laws, but if you live in UK, you don’t give a monkey about not hurting natives.
If you tried it back at home it’d be painful. Here, in London at least, a through-and-through Englishman is victimised constantly, especially by local authorities and officials.
    Enough, off the topic.

UK os so PC it’s boring. There are the Frogs, the Poles, the Jews, but try to say anything about a non-European and/or their culture and you’re called a racist.

You lot will end up without right to say anything whilst people like myself, foreigners, will be allowed whatever they choose.

The young Prince said what many think but are afraid of saying. He’s NOT stupid, malicious or wrong. It’s the BBC, The Sun and politicians who should shut up, not him.

And just the fact you talk about someone saying what Lib-Dems find offensive is worrying.

A Scott Octane frame. Shock – Manitou air something (I have it in the spares’ box so no expense there).

Dekerfer, the brake is fine, check the rotor/wheel interface and the rotor itself. Also, is the caliper properly aligned?

You want to see crime against humanity or civilians’ slaughter, you go to Auschwitz Birkenau. When you compare the atrocities of WW2 to Gaza 2009 you’ll see your comparing Jews to SS sucks.
There are plenty of well-educated people here, but sadly Britons’ knowledge of history, even the recent one, is generally poor if it didn’t involve you directly. It means you are great talking about the BoB but not so about the Eastern Front. C’mon guys, google the subject before making such comments.
Have a look here for some pics from AB by Strykowski (website in Polish, but the photos speak a universal language). They might be disturbing, mind.
BTW In no way do I support, morally or otherwise, violent actions against civilians.

I always used to ride with my parents across fields and hills as a kid. Never was a mountainbiker, I just rode my bike wherever I could.

C_G, thanks for a wonderful day. It was my maiden ride there but I shall be back for more.
Wearing shorts was rather an interesting experience, bit cold standing, fine riding. It wasn’t till I got off the train that I realised it was stupidly chilly.
I must also add WCA should be in Top Gear, I really love a Merc coupe as a bike carrier. And your gin was really good too. Would you post your recepie please? You’d be fabulous alongside May :-)
Overall, it was fantastic, well worth the effort and I want more. Swinley pt. 2, when?

XC – you’re allowed to ride an off-the-peg aluminium bike, eg. Trek.
Trail – you can only use On-One or Cotic hardtail, steel/ti.
AM – you must read MBUK and ride 7-inch 42lb tripple-clamp forked full sus with Maxxis tyres whilst wearing white gloves.
Freeride – you can only sit and talk about how rad you normaly are but your 2 weeks old Iron Horse Sunday is so not-good-enough that it’s impossible to ride it at all.

As long as everybody wants a Rock Shox fork they can do it. Service your old (2008) forks, ignore the hype of new being better. I can bet Peat on a rigid Kona would still be faster and smoother than I ever will no matter what bike I ride.

    Jim, Samsung is Korean IIRC.

    Prophet – over 35lbs.
    Scott FS – 33lbs.
    456 SE – 27-33lbs (wheels, tyres, bits).
Kona A – 8.6kg (whatever that is in pounds).

Mine is Vanilla RC (also on a Prophet) and it’s fine, maybe too complicated already. I’d go for the new shock over a more advanced (supposedly, needs to be said) one.
