I just want keep you guys rolling as there’s nothing worse than not being able find parts to keep the bike going. We were kindly loaned a mech hanger and want plan get those made now. If you guys could contact me on my works email addy paul@betd.co.uk then it keeps everything in the same place. Cheers guys too.

We’ve made bolts for bikes like Yeti 575’s and some Iron Horse models and they weren’t expensive really and being stainless they are better quality too.

Are these just specific to the Czar or are they applicable to all current DW Turners? If there’s a big enough demand for them it’s always something we could manufacture at BETD. If anyone can help please email me at paul@betd.co.uk

I believe there’s a difference between the 2. Hopefully we will be making some soon at BETD.

Remember carbon can be weaved in many ways and this has a big impact on how it performs. For instance on the Ducati MotoGP bikes the swing arm was made from carbon fibre and they struggled get the right “feel” from it and the way it’s constructed had a massive impact on how the rider performed with it. So it’s not just about saving weight.
That said I’d say in wheel rims for mtb and road it’s more about weight saving but there will be a difference in how they ride compared to alloy rims so best thing do is try them. We’ve sourced some rims from the Far East to build some wheels up and will be giving them a go in the hope of maybe offering some cheap wheel sets at some point but that’s all for the future.

The bearings should have a number on the rubber seal and we will have all those in stock at BETD. We are looking into making some replacement parts for the FS bikes like shafts etc as an upgrade to the current ones fitted. If it’s kits 12/13/14 then we already have those upgrades in stock.

Hi Hadge, at the risk of hijacking your thread – I spoke to BETD a year or so ago about the possibility of getting a stronger hanger for my Boardman FS Pro. We discussed making one that wasn’t drilled and countersunk for the (inessential) mounting bolt. I was told this could be done when a batch was being manufactured but never heard any more. Is it someing you could look into for me? I break about 6 a year!

Neil could you email me at my works address paul@betd.co.uk and please tell me the hanger number too. Thanks.

Cheers guys for the positive comments and they are very much appreciated.
Speshpaul could you email me a picture of your hanger sometime, taking pics of both sides and I’ll see if it’s something we currently make but if not we could definitely help you out. My email is paul@betd.co.uk
As for the Middleburn issue we will see what we can do as it would be a shame not to be able to keep the cranks running and the chainrings available.
Tomhoward I will have a butchers at that thread and see what’s what.
Once again thanks for the comments and support guys.

any plans to make your mech hangers better value for money? i.e. lower the price…. one of the biggest rip offs in the bike industry imo

For the cast ones people buy I’d definitely agree, they are expensive for what they are. The ones CNC machined from a solid billet I’d say were good value for money and they do the job they were designed to do. Saves your expensive mechs and wheels from getting ruined so that’s a small price to pay – in my opinion of course.

Cheers Stoner and best thing I can say to anyone who would like a product that’s not listed is to give us a call or email us. If there’s a call for something and we can make it in an economical way, we will do it. This is one way we add new mech hangers to our range and with new bikes if anyone has a new model (or even old) that mech hangers aren’t available for, we can sort something out so that some are made. We’ve had customers bikes before so we can build hangers for and now we can scan them and get dimensions for them. Anyone who loans us a frame or hanger then gets some free ones from us as a thank you gesture. We will keep the flag flying and thank you all for your support too.

Gents I’d like to put some posts right but Taz has stated some facts. BETD Goldtec is still going and very well too. We have moved premises and have some new backers (KMF) and we have access to some incredible CNC machines. We are still producing mech hangers, hubs, suspension linkages and many many more parts. I should have answered earlier but work load meant I missed the posts. Anyone who needs any help regarding parts please please contact us and we will be only too pleased to help. We will also be at the NEC show so come along and say hello to us.

I’d second what flaps says and that the Boardman is a stinking value for money bike.

You can order them direct from us at BETD here and they are much much better than the standard cheese one. Also have the linkage available that slackens the head angle in blue and black too.

unless he has a license its illegal to shoot birds. Personally I’d phone the police if it was one of mine. what would the legalities of having a target set up in your garden as well.

That’s not true at all. For instance shooting pigeons you would need the landowners permission that’s all. Obviously garden birds and many many others it is illegal to shoot them.

He’s a shit shot. Because to kill a pigeon humanely with an air rifle of 12ft/lbs a head shot is the way to do it. It kills them instantly. When you shoot at the body it will go into the crop more than likely and that’s a painful slow death for the bird. That’s when they fly off after being shot and hence land in your garden. If they are on the roof of neighbours houses and he’s shooting them then that’s clearly against the law. At the end of the day he’s a dork and needs to be made aware he’s possibly breaking the law.

We at BETD can make “one off’s” but sadly it’s not cheap. Have you checked our website? Please send me an email to paul@betd.co.uk and if you even have the broken parts we will do our best to sort you out. We need images both sides too. Don’t give up yet.

Northwind I applaud your choice of Les Collins. I live close to Stoke Speedway and so I was always going there. I’ve watched Les race endless times and he was brilliant. I was even there when Peter Collins raced Phil Crump for the Golden Helmet, obviously arranged by Les to boost Stokes crowd. Have loads of autographs too of all the top riders from those years.
Anyway for me I’ve always been a huge huge Barry Sheene fan and even though I love football and endless other sports he’s always been my hero. As for legends there was just one and sadly he passed away today.

The RC213V-S I don’t think will be much better, if anything than current Superbikes there as the track bikes benefit from endless amounts of data and track info which it won’t get at the IOM. It could also be a bit fragile whereas the other bikes have been honed over many races and are sorted against what the track throws up at them. Can’t wait watch the races this year.

One of my all time favourite memories was seeing the gold mask when the King Tut exhibition came to the British Museum a very long time ago. It definitely is a once seen never forgotten thing. Stunning.

Love my Burgtecs. They are very grippy indeed and solid as being fully CNC machined from a solid billet. I’ve a spare pair going if your interested in Blue. Email me if you are interested.

I honestly thought it was rubbish. Evans was a complete tool and as stated endless times, shouted everything out like Mr Cillit Bang!
And please look at the audience as they didn’t look comfortable at all and most looked like they didn’t want to be recognised by the original TopGear fans. I won’t be watching it any more and I do think that it’s a dying duck now.

My first Linn was a 83 model Valhalla with Ittok LVII and Asak cartridge. What I liked about the “old” Linn was its ability to produce great detail but most importantly great music. It has a sound like no other TT. I’ve partnered my Linns with arms from Zeta, Origin Live and each obviously gives different results, as do the Miriam of upgrades (Lingo PSU, Trampolin etc) but for sheer fun and a “cheap” LP12 the early Valhalla takes some beating and the Ekos is a fine arm plus the Troika is a damn fine cart too.
Seeing as you’ve found a pre-Valhalla you could either find a Valhalla and fit it yourself (easy do plus loads about) or fir something like a Lingo or Hercules PSU which will make a big difference and a better sound. Oh and my first brand new Linn cost me the princely sum of £375 for the motor, £257 for the arm and £207 for the cart! How times have changed.
