I have this issue with my VW Golf and it does my tree in. Had the car checked for any leaks etc and it was completely bone dry. I’ve had ice build up on the inside so I’ll invest in some big bags of Silica and get the screen as hot as I can before driving off.

Are you guys all putting the cars in a garage over night? I ask this as I wash my Golf R with Autoglym products and I use the HD Wax and the issue I have is moisture then appearing on cold nights and icing up really really bad. Yet neighbours cars who never wash or wax their cars are virtually free of any ice and oil proper does my head in. If it doesn’t ice up it’s always fun having waves of water coming down the windscreen when I brake at the first junction. Oh the joys of not having a garage……….

Nothing but oxygen stealing scumbags. It’ll get to the point where bike shops will not stock high end bikes any more as the insurance will be too much. It’ll be bikes to order which is not ideal.

That’s Audio Research at £9k NOT Audio Analogue lol

Mr Woppit the Nait 5 is a very capable amp but there is life outside of the Naim brand. I owned a 5i and replaced it with an Audio Analogue SE which was easily equal to it and both were bettered by the Audiolab 8300 in a system I’m running now.

And I can compare them against better kit as I run a NAC282 and NAP300 in my main system so I sort of can judge them equally and fairly. The source will always be the most important factor so always bear that in mind choosing any amp. Plus don’t neglect some decent speaker stands and locating them in the best optimum place you can.

You’ve been recommended all the good ones but if you want something factual to watch I can wholeheartedly recommend The Vietnam War series. I grew up to young to remember anything about it so it really opened my eyes to the horror and futility of it all.

Because headset bearings are a nightmare with different sizes and angles the best thing to do is trip it down and measure it/look for any codes on the bearings. It’s a pain but it is the best way. We do various bearings at BETD so maybe we have the right ones you need.

Yes they take 6902 2RS bearings and we have them at BETD too.

You get what you pay for. If its cheap there is a reason why. Roadies like ceramic as they do spin a bit better but they don’t seem to last long when used in crappy conditions compared to standard bearings.

I run a V2 Bronson C and I’m looking at getting a newer one soon. I always said I’d never get a carbon framed bike in case I stacked it and then you cannot see the damage inside compared to a good honest dent in an alloy frame but the ride is so good I’m past caring what happens to it. It’s incredibly quiet, which if you’ve ridden carbon bikes which resonate, is a huge bonus. You really think your on a alloy frame. The geometry is spot on and the reason you see so many is because they are good. I remember many years ago at the beginning of the trail centre revolution seeing lots and lots of Turner 5 Spots and I wondered why until I bought one and loved it.

I did the DW thing with the newer 5 Spot and I’ve owned other VPP bikes in the past and there’s very very little to chose between them and each has it’s strength and weakness and both are very very good. As for Jungle and their help you cannot fault it and so if your thinking of getting one go for it and you won’t be disappointed.

The most common length of countersunk screw is 8mm NOT 10mm as 10mm could actually be too long and will protrude on the frame not allowing your wheel to fit. Best thing to do is remove the good one and measure it. Send us a large letter stamped addressed envelope to BETD c/o Paul and I’ll ship you 2 out.

Went see U2 on Friday and I went Reds True Barbecue and it was very nice indeed.

I would hazard a guess they are M4 x 8mm countersink screws. That is a hanger we at BETD do not currently make but we are going to do one for the Bossnut soon.

I’m 56 now and can it be called a “midlife crisis” but mine has been my car, a VW Golf Mk6 R. I went for the Mk6 as there’s so many Mk7’s due to the PCP deals and I actually prefer the looks of the 6 over the 7 and mines a lovely 3 door in silver that I’ve fitted OZ wheels to, currently running a custom Stage 1 tune, Revo Intake and Miltek Cat Back exhaust, plus some Bilstein B14’s that have been lowered by 20mm front and 30mm rear for a nice stance and it handles far far better now too. Going Stage 2+ next with a Wagner Intercooler and APR HPFP it’ll be pushing almost 400bhp hopefully.

I love the car, it’s a bit individual and does everything I want from it. Stonking performance and still economical too which is a blessing. I don’t have to worry about running costs as I’m financially fine and so it’s a toy I don’t mind spending money on. I’ve got other toys like expensive watches, loads of camera gear and exotic hi-fi but the car is the one that makes me smile the most.

I Googled places to park when I went see Noel Gallagher and used one of the companies offering different places, paid £10 for a fantastic place. It was about 100 yards from the Arena. Locked secure parking and will definitely use again when I’m back down there.

I’ve run Burgtec bars for years now and love the shape and width of them. Quality wise I cannot fault them either.

Blue mist from him sadly today and he let himself down too. I feel more sorry for Jack as he made a huge decision start on slicks and then had the rest of the field change their tyres from wets. He deserved more than 4th place but he took it on the chin and well done to him.

I hadn’t been driving for a few years so my No Claims ran out so it cost me £360 for my VW Golf R which I was more than happy with. It’s going be Stage 2+ re-mapped at some point so it won’t get much cheaper I guess. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest as it is my toy and I love it. Best car I’ve ever owned by far.

I only drive a Golf R so where should I shop? I never knew the vehicle you drove dictated your shopping. Go figure.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ good advice and bang on too. Seeing as you didn’t say what type of speakers you have (bookshelf or stand mount) that will have a huge say on where they should be positioned/mounted. But being honest seeing as you said it’s an 80’s Technics system the gains will be very small anyway.

The tools are really useful for steel frames as bending steel does not affect it’s structural performance but I would not recommend trying straighten out a cast hanger as the grain structure is coarse and it will snap quite easily and for the cost of a replacement it’s not worth risking.

I thought the last season of Top Gear was actually good but Sundays show was dire. Far far far too scripted and the actual car content was poor to say the least. Chris Harris is actually a great driver and knows his stuff but he’s just not the same guy as his videos on Youtube. Grand Tour is miles better and I think even the Beeb know as they said Sunday that this series is only 6 episodes. Why?

So you’ve put the hub through some use which saw it submerged a bit and through lack of care you wonder if Halfords or Boardman should sort a “warranty issue” out? Fascinating. I think you can draw from the replies your getting where the responsibility lies. Hope your plan of stripping it down helps cure it’s ills.

All he had to do was let him catch the ball and tackle him. That error will haunt him for years. Just like on Ace Ventura “laces out” haha

If you don’t mind used have a look at the Longines Hydroconquest. I had one and I think it’s a stunning watch. Classic looks, just like a Tudor/Rolex and has the lovely sweeping second hand too. You could find a mint one for that money. I wear a very nice TAG Aquaracer Calibre 16 every day and only sold the Longines because I couldn’t bare it just sitting on a watch winder even though I have other nice expensive watches doing the same.

If you get one just look after the bearings as if they start sicking the VPP does not work as well. I bought a used one once and the ride was transformed with new bearings and fresh grease.

Lots of bikes use the same hanger so we at BETD do try list as many as we can that we know fit a frame as if it’s wrong then it’s a pain for the customer to return it and then get another/or refund. The best way is to send us a picture of your hanger even if it’s broke or bent and we can match it against our stock. We even get riders sending pictures of the drop out area as they have no hanger and we can still identify it from that image. Hope you find one any way.

Do the bearings have a code on the seal on them? If so let me know.

One thing I found with Gumtree is that when I put my phone number on the ad, I got scammers trying it on. I was selling some expensive gear but regardless, it was a pain. Once I removed the phone number all was fine. At least it’s free unlike rip off eBay and it’s fees.

Hateful until you hit a rock with your expensive bike and it saves the frame by breaking instead of the dropout/chainstay/seatstay

Well said rocketdog – or when your on a trip abroad and you break it and you’ve no spare.

I set myself a budget and it started off as a Mk5 GTI, then I thought sod it get an R32 but in the end totally blew my budget and got a Mk6 R and I absolutely love it. One owner, 28k miles and it’s just ace. Even economical on long runs and put it in Sports mode and it flies. It’s got a 12 month warranty and when that runs out I’ll get it re-mapped to Stage 1 for a bit more “economy”

Those Airdrops do look very nice. I went down the second hand route and bought a Bronson. A few months ago I was looking at Bronson that was completely blinded out, ENZe wheels etc and that was going for £3.5 so bargains are out there if you look.
