    This

When I started shooting I bought one of these, it’s a Colt Python .357 Magnum, 8″ barrel with scope and one of the US gun mags went out Wild Boar shooting with one of these and I always always wanted go over there and have a go. You have to get very close as even the .357 is just about good enough to drop a good “tusker”

It depends when the item gets taken to the post office. We post items out and they’re handed into the post office about 4 ish and first class generally gets there next day BUT it’s not guaranteed and Fridays is always a bad day post as everyone wants their stuff by Saturday so there’s lots of post and it’s generally 50/50 if it gets there Saturday. We do RMSD but even that doesn’t guarantee next day before 12 on a Saturday but we can offer an option for guaranteed before 12 on a Saturday but it’s expensive with RM.

There are an awful lot of Jews in the US who have money, power and influence so hence their support of Israel. But the States as with a few other countries will “support” any country who they would like to influence or want spend money on US arms and technology. Remember, Iran was the only country in the world to buy F-14 Tomcats, along with the Phoenix long range AAM in a huge multi million dollar deal. Luckily when Iran fell out with the US the planes were basically useless due to poor maintenance and they could only use them as long range radar systems instead.
I don’t trust Israel and I don’t trust the US either. They supported the IRA yet we are supposed to have “special relations” with them now! Sorry no.

Saw some film footage of him on the news singing and I wonder if he sings “Don’t Stand So Close To Me” when he’s on stage?

This isn’t the end of this saga. He’s being charged by the FA over the case with Ferdinand where he was found not guilty. So the FA want to over-turn what a court of law found not guilty on? So IF the FA find him guilty, can Terry be charged again in a law court for racial abuse?
But while this is going on it doesn’t look good for England and setting aside Terry’s absolute (blind) loyalty to his country and playing for them and being captain it will disgrace us as a nation and so he has to stand down – rightly or wrongly. I have an opinion on Terry and I truly believe he believes he’s totally innocent in anything he does and doesn’t see when he’s wrong – case in point the sending off in the semi final of the Champions League where he said he didn’t knee the fella in the back. I just hope the sorry affair goes away for good very very soon.

At a hospital close to where I live there was an emergency in one of the wards where a patient needed resuscitating. Two nurses and a doctor made their way down to the corridors where they were greeted by a woman who asked for directions to leave the building. The senior nurse gave directions, talking to the woman and using her hands to show her the way and the woman said “thank you” and carried on her way.
When the senior nurse reached the ward where the emergency was she was greeted by the doctor and a nurse in shock and unable to grasp what was there. It was the woman they’d all just met only she was dead in her bed!
When an investigation was carried out, they found CCTV footage in the corridor showing all 3 hospital staff going to the ward and it showed the senior nurse apparently talking to someone and using her hands but there was only the nurse in the film, there was no one else. It looked like the nurse was talking to herself! Since the investigation I know there’s been mental issues with the staff involved and one of them hasn’t returned to work and is undergoing treatment for mental problems. I know all 3 members of staff had to sign legal documents as well to say they were telling the truth which I know doesn’t mean a lot but the CCTV footage doesn’t lie and it seems a very strange thing to actually make up as well.

b r – any rifle with scope rails will accept a diopter sight but if you wanted decent advice log onto the AirgunBBS site and you’ll get lots if useful help over there. Lots depends on what he wants it for really as well as well.

I bought some Nikon Monarch 8×42 DCF NEU and honestly they are superb. Fully waterproof, crystal clear optics and aren’t huge and heavy. They’re not cheap at £195 but they’re well well worth the money over the cheaper Nikon models. I’m not Nikon biased either as all my camera gear is Canon.

100 yard shot and killed a pigeon???? I guess your man members about 2 foot long too pmsl. I think you need actually measure the distance and you’d be surprised that your 100 yard was nowhere near so forget the ultimate sniper comments and stick to reality. Otherwise go onto AirgunsBBS and tell them on there how good a shot you are and let them laugh at you. You should have been shooting at the Olympics dude.
More to the point though, why would you even try shoot something that far off shows the measure of your responsibility as well.

There is no “best” Gorehound as there are many good rifles out there and it depends on your budget as well. Even the “best” calibre for those two bring up many debates. I still prefer .22 as it hits harder whereas .177 has a flatter trajectory for greater range but I used to tune my rifles so they were over the 12ft/lb limit anyway but for me my HW80 was a fabulous hunting rifle but was producing 17ft/lb but was incredibly accurate as well. Not legal though but I shot on land where I had permission and so no one was ever going know it wasn’t legal as it just looked like a normal HW80.

Have you ever worked out just how much you’ve actually learnt or is possible to learn from watching tv? Tv is a great visual learning tool as well so I think not having one for your children isn’t a good idea but they’re your kids and so it’s your choice.

If you like the feel of the DW-link then why not look at the Turner 5-spot or Ibis Mojo SL special blend?

Exactly. Both are very very capable bikes and are real mile munchers and great all round bikes. I plumbed for the 5 Spot as I just prefer alloy frames compared to carbon but I guarantee you”l enjoy either.

Really don’t want think of the day she goes from our lives here but i truly hope it’s a long long way off form today. Hope everything went well today and chin up and remember all the good times like those before have said.

So please tell me what’s difficult about the mountain biking event then? Pedalling and steering? How hard can that be?

    Hadge

Careful now. Hadge is a bit confused and he has a gun, don’t make him angry!

It’s my age I’m afraid and yes I have a gun but it’s not like the ones I used to have hehehe. I know I should let stupid remarks go by but it’s easy pick on a sport you know nothing about and I was just defending one I did and know the level required to compete at the very highest level and please understand, it’s NOT just about holding something still.

I’m with mountain biking as it’s basically just pedalling and any idiot can do that surely? This forums full of people who say they can lol.

If Bolt runs 9.5 seconds in training it won’t count as it’s not at a recognised event – now do you understand? But it’s not that easy and you know that. What I was trying say is people who don’t do other sports really don’t understand what’s required to compete at the very very top and be involved in such things as the Olympics. Just as any idiot can ride a bike, any idiot can shoot – but to compete at the very very top level isn’t easy and we all know that. I’ve done shooting at the top level and I know racers who compete at the top level and it’s NOT easy to do.

World Records are set in certain championships, just as in any sport like running so you could possibly break a record but “unofficial” if you know what I mean. You had to get very close but breaking them sort of guaranteed a position in a major championship and that’s all I’m trying say.
I’m sure there are plenty of people on shooting forums how think it would be easy race in the Olympics in the mtb race after watching todays race but we know it’s not that easy.

    pistol shooting?

Seriously??? Sorry but it shows complete ignorance at just how good you have to be in another sport but you can make flippant comments. When I was competing many years ago to compete in “major” championships you had to achieve scores that broke UK records. To compete in International events such as the Olympics you had to break world records. So put that into context against another sport such as the 100m race hey. Our sprinters had to achieve a time that few people could ever ever do so please understand, shooting is exactly the same.

I have a CR-7A and I can vouch it is a better machine than the Dragon and makes astonishing recordings. Sadly I don’t use it anymore but it’s till in perfect working order but I’ll never sell it.

Remember Rossi is nick-named the Doctor because of “his ability” to put the bikes right when they need sorting. Well the Failed Doctor is now off to Yamaha with his tail between his legs and what everyone may be missing is maybe age has finally caught up with him and he may not be the great rider he once was. I am big Rossi fan but all good things come to an end and his dummy spat the time he left Yamaha may have been the writing on the wall and the marriage made in heaven failed miserably. Maybe it was a class of ego’s – Ducati’s against Rossi but the Italian press certainly didn’t like the coming together of the 2 beloved son’s of Italy and the rest is history. I hope he does do well as the lack of top “Aliens” has diminished MotoGP lately and it desperately needs some riders fighting for the top spot.

The Dr is leaving the house – official. Oh dear the Dr hasn’t been able to cure the Ducati and is leaving with his tail between his legs to a bike he knows can win. Mmmmmmm shame he failed to do what Casey did and win a world title on it. I am a Rossi fan and I must admit it was sort of the marriage made in heaven but it failed miserably and so lets hope next season things change.

Being an engineer I could easily “tune” my guns and did so to my Weihrauch HW80 where I polished the internals to a mirror, enlarged the transfer port and fitted a special spring and it was er slightly illegal. I did use it for FT shooting when it was in it’s infancy and they didn’t check the power of the guns then. But i took it a game fair and Airgun World had a stall and a famous writer was testing guns for people and so I took mine in for testing just to see. Well it came out at 17.2 ft/lbs which is way way over the legal limit but the guy was amazed at it’s consistency as it varied hardly anything per shot and he offered buy it there and then. I said no and then went on to finish 3rd in the shoot that day with it. It was an incredible rifle with a big 8×56 Kassnar Beta 3 scope on it and was a joy to shoot – illegally though!

Head shot a pigeon .. you would have to be an Olympic standard marksman to hit it anything further than 20yds or so.

Do you heck but I was in the National Squad so I was pretty good :D. A good air-rifle, well set up will easily hit a pigeons head out to a good distance with a decent marksman behind the sights. If your not confident of hitting the head then get someone who is as like I said, body shots on a pigeon are not good and the last thing you want is one flying off wounded into a neighbours garden and be found by them and you then get reported to the police. Remember, the police do NOT like firearms offences of any kind and they will take action against you and the punishment is severe.

What’s behind your garden as in the backdrop? If it’s fields fire away but if it’s houses or public pathway your a bit stumped. Although if your a crackshot like me you won’t miss 🙂
On a serious note though only shoot for the head and yes it’s not a big target I know but there’s a very good reason. Use a .22 rifle as .177 calibre could rip straight through and I say go for the head as hitting the body is a big no no as if you hit the crop the pigeon will just fly off and have a painful death so be humane please.

Can’t stand the bloke, never liked his “music” if that’s what you could call it. Now he comes out with this – I think he’s missing the limelight especially after all that crap he came out with about the Falklands too.

I mulled over having one, it was a 2,7 diesel model. They lovely to drive and are very well built too. My uncle has a big petrol engined one and I hankered after one when I saw his. They don’t whiff of the “old man’s Jag” anymore as they are so well specced and very modern too. I couldn’t afford the newer 3.0 litre diesel so I bought something else instead – a 535d M Sport which has been re-mapped and er goes like stink.
If I had the money though and could afford run the thing I’d have a petrol engined one any day, I do think they’re that good.

Look in the classifieds as that might help. I run some 32 Vans on my first 5 Spot and some Float 32’s on the second one. Ideal fork length if you ask me. You should get some decent Vans for that money and some older Floats as well.
