@centralscrutinizer on a laptop in segment explore? Are you sure? Which browser?

Ah… so it is still available when using the App. just the not the website?

    Ok.

Seems a bit of a strange decision by Strava.

Rarely use my phone. Never use the App and almost certainly wouldn’t want to be looking at satelite maps to plan a ride from a phone. Oh well. nevermind.

a lot of saints seem to be 83mm

    The 68/73 ones aren’t. 😉

    (1st gen = 800, 2nd 810 or 3rd 820) There’s no benefit paying more for 820 over 810. 800 are a lot heavier.

    hope that helps

That isn’t segment explore though. It’s just the Boxhill segment page

Ah.. had forgotten about veloviewer. will have a look there later. Cheers.

Although it’s not really to look at individual segments. more to get a jist of the area

I know you won’t listen. But assuming they are 15mm thru axle just leave the Revs at 120mm. instantly stiffer and suit the bike’s geometry better.
You might want to stick a spacer under your stem if doing so though. Which may or may not satisfy the consumerist motivation for the “upgrade” 😉

    not being weak matters more.

there was a thead about this the other day. Balance bikes for 18mth olds. not weak dads

Bazzer if you liked the Sunday. Put a set of 26″ wheels on the Capra for DH. Geometry is really close then.

As the Capra has one of the most progressive rear ends of any bike out there it’s actually way nicer than any other 170mm travel bike when your trail centre terrain is less than Gnar. Also because of this the support when hitting jumps is phenomonal.
They’re also light. Easily light enough for all day rides.

Deadkenny – if you mean it leaked. simply add a PVC plumbing washer and tighten it down properly tight. Otherwise. What the other bloke said.

Like every latest fad in mtb this “I have long arms” BS has become contageous.

Have any of you ever actually measured your arms? or just looked on some pointless APE INDEX calculator that compares arm span to height and doesn’t take shoulder width or hand size into account at all and decided your arms are long?

For someone to actually have freakishly long arms they’d also more than likely have narrow shoulders and small hands.

    FOR A BIKE 😯

Hot water makes cleaning any bike infinitely quicker and more pleasurable. Try it before pouring scorn because it’s not what YOU do.

    Have 3 mates riding Capra’s:

    1 – 5’11 on a Large = good fit
    2 – 6’1 on a Large = slightly too small
    3 – 5’9 on a Large = good fit

All depends on your body shape really..No it really doessn’t!
it depends on your riding style.

5’11” perfectly normal proportioned and a Medium Capra fits me perfectly.

Ride one. Then make your own mind up.

Full proper wash after every muddy ride. Have outdoor lighting, a hot water hose and a bike stand at the door.

Hose down bike getting worst off. Fill bucket with hot soapy water. quick brush/sponge all over. rinse. towel dry and lube chain.

    Whole process only takes 5mins.

I feared it would flop it has

erm… it’s the UKs’ best selling game this week. As was it on it’s launch week.
Making unfounded digs at a game you’ve not played seems really strange. Are you holding a grudge from GT6? I didn’t really get on with that either.

Anyway.. I’m absolutely loving it. So much so I just got home from Currys with a G29 wheel/pedal/stick (£154 on a black friday deal. Hurry if you want one at that price). Had been in a bit of a lul as far as gaming goes since losing interest in GTAV (and I do have the 60 car garage etc. legit) Most of my old GTA crew are now on GTsport and the online racing is fiercly competitive (but clean) in our lobbies/tournaments

Noooo!! Is GT really that bad?

no. it’s already the best GT to date and once even more of the (free) DLC rolls out it’s only going to get better.

I’ve been playing it pretty solidly since launch and currently have over 100 hrs on it. The bloke who’s slating it doesn’t have it.

Best £18 you’ll spend if you have a ps4 and are into highly competitive clean online racing.

Gran Turismo Sport – Best current gen online racer out there now they’ve updated it.
£24.99 in the store this week only

Last of Us – Best single player game ever made.

GTAV – ridiculously good (and quite long) single player. Online is brilliant but TBH I’d hate to start playing from Level 1 and no money when pretty much everyone else has been playing for 4 years, owns 20 cars, 3 appartments and runs multiple buisinesses.

Pay the extra for PS+ and you’ll get a couple of free games every month and discounts in the store.

Fallout 4 is rubbish but if you really want to find out for yourself I’d sell you mine for a tenner

The 18 rating in games has very little cosistency. it could be there for swearing, excessive bloody violence, sexual content or a mixture of all 3.

I must have somewhere between 60-80 18 cert PS3/4 games in the house. There’s not one my 15yr old isn’t mature enough to play. (including the likes of GTAV) But I have no idea what your kids are like.

Any game you have doubts about. Play through yourself first. it all seems a bit Daily Mail otherwise.

Yes because production costs are the only driver of retail price

You’re finally ready to admit price are inflated because of #Fashion and because there’s a fairly large group of afluent gullible cyclists craving latest latest shiny shiny.

Because longer reach isn’t better. It’s simply different. It basically forces you to change your riding position. Only you can say whether you like the change.
5’11” here. perfectly normal proportioned and wouldn’t ever want more than 425mm reach on any of my bikes. My Hardtails are actually a fair bit shorter as were all of my DH bikes and for good reason.
Try and pick up a front wheel at the end of a 200mm fork sat at 62 deg to initiate a manual with an extra inch of reach to the bars and you’ll quickly see why most DH bikes are not so long in reach as is currently fashionable. This is only accentuated if pointing downhill.
No doubt some slow guy will be along soon to tell you the exact reach of Minnaaar’s V10. or how I’m wrong without ever even trying out what I’ve just described.

wind your neck in and stop taking my opinion personally for a minute. I’m not complaining about modern mountain biking being terrible. I’m simply agreeing with Earls comment that it’s becoming a rich mans sport.

    it’s a thread about a £100 pushbike tyre FFS!

folk will pay £15 for an elasticated velcro luggage strap these days to strap their spare tube on their Enduro frame. surely even you must be able to see how silly this is?

    gwurk

I said your arguement with Earl does not stand up. and it doesn’t.
you’re just too blinkered and used to paying through the nose for the latest trends in mtb to see why.

No Mike. I know exactly what events cost to run

    gwurk

You’re putting words where I did not go @Superficial.
“Eventing” people like to enter events. But lets not kid ourselves on. The vast majority are partaking rather than actually racing. 10345th in the London Marathon is not racing in exactly the same way 253rd is not in an mtb enduro event.
The number of people partaking (I use this word deliberately) in amateur sporting “events” proves my point fairly well.

    gwurk
    Free Member

No Mike. I completely “get” the event goer thing. It’s just of no interest to me. Neither is what bike you own.

I simply have a different view point to yourself. Try to accept that like a big boy rather than call me names.

    gwurk
    Free Member

A simple “yes to all 3” would have sufficed.

But since you ask. I’ve absolutely no interest in doing “events” at all Mike. If you’re not at the sharp end of the racing you’re simply following the same route. Something you can do any other day of the year absolutely free with no need for marshalls, timing, medics or insurance.

Do you own a Santa cruz with expensive Maxxis tyres and pay to partake in Enduro events with it by any chance?
