I’m 5’11” and my DH and miniDH frames are a couple of inches longer in the seattube (spenshin links an that in the way ) Shall I just call you Shitstalker for short? Oh.. no.. that’d be longer, lets just stick with Slywanker 😉

Don’t these track cyclists realise 1×10 is the bollox and you should wear baggies over lycra? They obviously need to spend more time on here 🙄

Mboy – EN521s are nowhere near as strong as 721s

5.1s are an awful choice for DH, not just because they dent like playdough, I actually folded one turning in a rut.

I wouldn’t run a miniDH bike tubeless. It just doesn’t work for hard riding.

721s or Flows drilled to take shrader tubes (if flows are stiff enough for you)

I’m taller than you (just) and have a 14″ seat tube on my most used and most versatile bike.
I choose frames by downtube length. It’s the only measrement that makes sense. BB height, HA and stay length are v. Important to me. SA doesn’t actually matter too much (unless wildly out) and why ride an 18″ seatube with it’s reduced standover height and only 200mm exposed seatpost for full leg exension while climbing etc. when 410mm posts are commonplace

DH bikes kinda have done for decades with adjustable drop-outs, Al.
Varience in Hardtail chainstay lengths gives differing ride characteristics, I personally wouldn’t want anything other than short ( or super short) stays for the way I ride even though I’m well above average height.
Looking at the aesthetics of almost all mtbs I don’t think anyone in the bike industry (other than 29er marketeers) really GAF about properly tall riders.

You’re probably not hitting the descents all that fast anyway TBF.
What rear rim/tyre (and pressure) are you using to ward off all the hits your huge forks sort out for you?

Drill a hole right thru the post where head/clamp’s pressed into the post, a nut n bolt thru hole will stop it rotating.

sorry but that is 100% rider error, your foot didn’t slip all by itself and once it had your pedal was “where it was supposed to be”

learn no footers and one footers if you don’t want to repeat it.

cranks will remain in the same position if you learn to no footer properly and the weighted pedal will always drop when one footering unless you remove your rear foot and hold the rear brake or table or whip while your foot is removed.

once you can do both at will you’ll always instinctively know where your pedals are.

yes, learned both at the age of 5 it’s much easier the earlier you start. my 2 yr old can drop kerbs on her balance bike confidently already and jump her scooter.

good on you for giving it a go. 😀

Taking a dump would be more constructive than anything in this thread.

But now someone’s come along to tell you your H/A is actually already half a degtee slacker than your self appointed ideal geometry are you going to fit a 0.5deg steep cup headset? I reckon it’s time to get a CCDB on that badboy, I can only imagine the performance gains a genius like yourself will be capable of dialing in

Why call them cotners in the first place? 🙄

The correct place is where I look naturally (no bad habit to fall into) this is where you and Juan need to aim for.

Seems perfectly fitting with their usual inconsistent approach

Not surprised you struggle jon. 😆
Even if you can see 3 corners ahead you should NOT be looking 3 corners ahead. You need to be looking to the exit of the corner you’re riding but also need to know the lay of the next few corners to make sure you are exiting the corner you’re riding correctly positioned for entering the following corner and so on.. this is where scanning the trail ahead comes into play.
If we’re talking about riding a trail blind you need to scan ahead a little more than a trail you know well (seems Juan is having trouble on trails he ‘should’ be familiar with.)
Scanning a trail needs to become natural to you instead of something you have to force yourself to concentrate on to become faster if you are telling yourself what you ‘should’ be doing while riding you’re not fully comitted to what you are actually doing.
