    they kinda do.

only available as a Mavic somethingMAX wheelset and cost silly money.

normally replace my chain, chainrings and cassette together about a month after the chain starts to slip on the cassette under power.
running 2×8 means replace the whole lot costs about the same price as a single 10speed chain.

721s def do have a braking surface.

they’re different in many ways but the bottom line is a 521 is not anywhere near as strong or well made as a 721 but loads cheaper.

you “should” get away with using the same length spokes for each.
    I have re-built a 521 with a 721 re-using the spokes

    want to sell the 721?

    does she have scooters?
two wheel scooters teach balance/confidence fairly safely.
by the sounds of it, you might need to start her off on a 3 wheeler tho.

Kids unsupportive partners do stop you doing things to some extent though. For example, I want to do the great divide race. Not happening for a good while, neither is going out for an all day ride on a Saturday or going away for races.

I want to sit around all evening watching TV without being bothered, that’s also not going to happen for a while

eh? how do kids get in the way of this ^^

Just seen the other thread, you’re not seriously contemplating putting stabilizers on a balance bike are you?

Balance bikes are not a hit in this house.

try leaving the house with it.

if you are indeed a “Big bloke” I’d be thinking more about stiffness than weight savings.

seems foolish to employ Monkey as your mechanic.
Maintenance Tip: “Most of the time I just keep my fingers crossed and hope it goes well,” Monkey says.
So far Gwins been left chainless and brakeless in finals runs this year, what’s next?

why do you want a high volume tyre on a hardtail jump bike?
are you going to ride it on beaches?

    What happened to Gwin?

Brakes pulled to the bar apparently

Doesn’t sound too fussed about Worlds

I’m not banned, just been on an all weekend bender

That amuses me greatly! Also proves a point slightly… Cos on here, they were always first to defend each other and help each others argument out. Absence of an audience has obviously driven then to argue with each other!

Nah, all it proved was that the guy (not TJ) has serious issues!

TJ’s sound and should never have been banned, all he’s ever done is give his honest opinion (on everything) if it differs from others opinions, so what? You’re not allowed an alternate opinion? pathetic!

the rules here make no sense.

    48″ chainstays FTW – turning is over-rated anyway ;)

After watching an awesome video once on you-tube I headed straight down to Aberlady and asked a bloke in the dunes to show me a submarine.. opened more than my eyes that day I can tell you! 8O won’t be doing that again in a hurry ;)

sit down ALL the time then URT works works.

    or stand ALL the time.

Works better if you only do one or the other with concentric bb pivot bikes too.

If you care about weight why on earth would you choose a material with as poor weight to stiffness as steel for the heaviest component? :?

    they’re ugly

The male member is a fairly ugly thing but I’d still rather have one that does it’s job well over a smaller/weaker one that’s more likely to fail to perform in use.

Should have made it clearer, (cheers Dean) I meant slam your saddle and leave it slammed for quite some time.
It won’t take long to instinctively weight the bike correctly, trust me.

Ignore skills course catch phrases unless specifically being told to follow them after assesment and being taught how and why a good instructor.
There are too many tight/lazy bastards these days trying to teach themselves to ride through poor parrot fed online forum info from shit riders high on the buzz of their first skills course.

Toys – seriously, get a grip!

This thread is about 4yr olds, an age of child I just so happen to have a huge amount if experience with, Not me.
Naughty step for you (and put all 19toys back in your ptam when you’ve calmed down.

Wow! Toys, get a grip of those insecurities.

My question was whether the gloves were for warmth/comfort/protection/confidence/other. Hece my recommendations.

Some of my kids do NEED gloves to ride Some for warmth, some comfort, some protection and some like me just don’t like or need them.
