Simon – try the Sl1 on your lid and bin the halogen.
Can’t see many people being able to go fast enough off road to run out of light when it’s on your head.
barmounted lights are just pointless for anything other than road riding IMO

Nah, it’s all good fun, just a little too pedally for either a DH bike or big soft compound tyres. perfect for a nice wee hardtail really.
There’s also a hell of a lot of uphill to get out the way before you even get to the first decent length descent.

GT is better in that respect, loads of short DH sections you can ride flat-out with just short(ish) climbs between them.. if you get what I’m saying.

Ps. if Glupton (or anyone else who knows the area) suggests doing the woods next to caddonbank rather than the drops – do the old XC course woods, that way’s loads better, fast tight, twisty and rooty – the way inners should be ;o) (and you still end up jpoining back on and doing the better part of Caddonbank anyway.

Rock3 – I’d stick to the DH tracks then TBH. the XC route’s descents are all pretty flat and pedally.

Yes there are are various lines ranging from piss easy to very technical,
all do-able on a hardtail tho so don’t worry about using your “short travel bike”

What is considered a short travel bike these days anyway?

FWIW I Have the 5 mode MTE P7 too – can’t see why I’d ever want more light, especially considering the condition my wallpaper’s in

So, have I got this right?
You bought a cheap light and found it incredibly bright and easy to use…
But even so you thought you’d order a different one aswell and now it’s arrived you can’t wait til it’s dark so post up a pointless review based on the patern from the wallpaper under your stairs but want comparisons from other folk who’ve bought exactly the same two lights as you?

    :?
