*All content approximate and cross check

Understand your liability – with a Limited Co – Liability is limited to the company (ie not you). Self employed – i **think** you are liable (ie house), not sure how partnerships work

With a ltd co you need to register at companies house and require at least 1 director (shelf name cheap, custom 200ish), >60K a year turnover = VAT registration (*understand what VAT flat rate means – you can under cetain conditions makea small profit on it), you need employee and employer Ins, prob liability for your 'product' insurance, books by accountant (750 per year)

There probably are govmt agencies/websites etc offering advive. HMRC are about as much use as a fart at a clean air convention, do not **** with the vat man.

poor, car appears dead (non starter, 186,000, MOT due 2 months) it's VERY irritating as it's electrical – ie it could be a loose wire, garage bill now 2 hrs, I really do think if it had gone bang I'd be a lot happier – dead is dead – possibly dead is a rather unpleasant trade off between keeping an old friend going and possibly wasting more and more money or cutting possible losses

Currently pricing berlingos, anybody want a previously mechanically sound 306 HDI ?

Assume you mean coolskin and Achitect/tas or whatever (3 heads that you load with fluid)

I use, with can gel std gel – cheaper and appears to work, found the old 7780 or whatever it is (ie not the thin neck carry on) good, new three head on a thin neck (8260???) or siumilar (*1/2price boots maybe) not quite so good but tried a braun cruzer 3(??) and actually threw it out after trying for a couple of weeks.

I was on Orkney once, biking round islands and decided I wanted to go down this path on a farm to a broch. Knocked on farm door (with light in window), knocked again, then louder, loder, then really went for it, door bending on hinges.

    yep
kite buggy – sold – required too much space that was free of people dogs, trees etc
windsurfer – sold – I live inland and only went out in force 4+, twice a year
mountain board – selling – self employed and old enough to have stopped bouncing
enduro bike – too much cost/hassle vs pleasure (MOT,Tax,Ins for about 3 time out a year)

Still do keep fit, floorball(indoor hockey), surfing (no real cost once you own all kit) and mountain biking, some walking.

a plug in timer will probably be more useful, won't require a cage, and won't crap everywhere, mind you I suspect that teaching a fan heater to say 'Polly wants a biscuit' may take a fair amount of time.
(why not nick a jumper off them)

Heater on all the time sounds pretty wasteful and heating on 1.5 hours sounds pretty tight.

1 – lots of short everything on journeys are a drain
2 – they go suddenly (e,g me – cold morning, started fine, work, warmer afternoon – dead as a donkey – AA start and then Halfords)

8 yrs sounds ok to me for a battery

if it's a clever oven, it might be because, door not closed, timer on, in function mode, …. …………… so read the manual

if not google on make, model etc and fault and you might get lucky and get a related post, alternatively google on make and model and you might get a manual or diagram.

Presumably it's not a gas one that has to be lit manually (probably a strange hissing sound and smell if this is the case)

Already fixed up somebody on here with one

If you can email (profile) me with inner, outer, diameter (of rubber) measurements I can pop some on the post.

    mx is much more fun.

I can't believe that mtb can possibly be cool. Riding around on bikes, just the three of us blasting through the forest, a thin drizzle seeping through the trees, the noise of my 50 horse2 stroke shrieking away, the huge roost spaying up from the rear, and the occasional wheelie – how can thrashing around in lycra with a lump of steel strapped to you possibly compare?

View it like microwave food, it's expensive but somebody else has done all the work. Good way to meet active people.

    I used Exodus.
Routes an my (specific tour guide) was great
    BUT
    – overpriced
    – chicken tagine 3 times
    – enforced carpet sales visit
    – enforced shopping visits
    – bad itenary (*New Year – boondock 0 horse humpty. buzzing lively village, lightening visist – should have done 2/3 night there awesom)
    – cold showers.

Rapture surf camp Morocco – recommnded – accom (bunks, foods, AWESOME)and about 1/4 Exodus price.
Don't know what bike routes like nearby but as a base providing bed+food – MUCH better than Exodus).

As a teenager I couldn't afford petrol (motorbike) and fags so the bike won (most of my friends smoked), as a working young 20ish (so 30 years ago) I was a 'social/weekend' smoker (only waccy stuff), as I got a bit more into drugs I stunningly remember a conversation in a pub – with a bloke who'd done drugs all his life – he was so ***ked that he could start a sentence and forget what he was talking about after about 5 words. I gave up drugs the next day.

chain splitter and spare links/ jointers etc along with multi tool with pliers etc zippies, etc, spare gear cable + brake cable ??

    – preride brake block check – If they're thin and it's gritty they'll be metal (yes that is over the top, car dead, stuck at gfs, bored)

extra drinks bottles and barley sugar/mars bars type bits

suggest an oval/circular route with start point dead in middle as it makes baling out easy and shortening easy – (maybe take extra maps etc so allow bailouts – but with only 4 I'd suggest sticking as a group).

Suggest a spare T per person and make last bit down hill/flat if poss (so they can swap Ts) – cold and wet generally means not enjoying (A black bin liner can have arm and head holes put in it and be a surprisingly effecive windstopper)

Change of clothes/pub/flask etc at end point (towel, changing blanket etc or pub toilet)

    patience and tolerance

    have fun

In IT, I once (for a female friend who sat opposite another '23 year old data analyst secondee' in summer – and did't like it) put a bar of soap in his drawer with a note attached ("Use externally, twice daily".)

It's difficult to understand the position and a company from your email, so apologies if I'm barking/wrong tree but you've confused me as from the 'senior finance job – reporting into the FD', and 'payroll system down, fixing it' would only go together in a very small company. 'in order to get the hundreds of staff paid for Xmas' – shoots that to hell, at that size I'd assume an IT department and an IT director – and I'd want to know why they weren't doing their jobs.

I'd strongly suggest not sticking your oar in. I'd suggest you get her to write down what she should be doing and what she is actually doing and then to try to understand if/why she is getting extra tasks (or if she can't or won't delegate what she should) and to start getting the extra pushed back to the proper owners (in writing) OR getting junior staff to take on more. If it's just her boss being unrealisatic/twatt then I'm afraid she has to broach that with her boss (in an APPROPRIATE manner – that's down to her she knows him better than you – sometimes gentle negotiation works, sometimes shouting at some people does actually work) – tell her to prepare for this meeting throroughly and properly) and to try to get her workload reduced. (Keep a diary, tasks, hours etc).

It sounds to me as if the boss values her so I'd hope he would also listen to her.
