Likely to be marketing and related to the fact that some twunt invented the powerflushing device.

Anyway I've previously done it myself – non power flush (Fernox products – use flusher then cleanse with water then refill with inhibitor) on an open system(header tank). (All my rads have drain cocks thta I can fit a hose on). Not sure how good it is in comparison to a power experience but it cost me about 25 …..

1 – best one way/dropped off (You might get bike in bus boot) start here
    http://www.streetmap.co.uk/idld.srf?x=118708&y=911528&z=120&sv=118708,911528&st=4&ar=y&mapp=idld.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=850&ax=118708&ay=911528&lm=0
follow dotted track W to white road heading south
2 – here is the one I was referring to http://www.streetmap.co.uk/idld.srf?x=117393&y=900193&z=120&sv=117393,900193&st=4&ar=y&mapp=idld.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=850&ax=117393&ay=900193&lm=0 E immed N beside loch/blue footprint, E + then SE on yellow road, dotted track W along coast

    as above
ask about subsidence in the area from estate agents etc
if it's the original boiler it might fancy retirement
understand clearly whats included (yes some people do take light bulbs)
any extensions etc should have PP
    ask about flooding (*sorry)
check for damp(mould etc, peeling paint type stuff) on walls and get into loft for a nose around (bring a ladder)
get heating running and check all rads warm up no banging etc
try all built in appliances and make sure they work
I'd understand noise – ie you might get pissed off by neighbour + vice versa – living with hostile neighbours can be VERY draining and deemoralising

Regarding homeownver surveys – you may get more details via google earth.

West coast, islands are – fab – but a long way, I've done it in a week and to be honest I was pissed off driving … and moving….

Try Glentrool (SW)it has camping, hire caravans etc and I think lodges and is nearish some bike trails, also Loch Ken might provide some variety as well as the sandy beaches on the S

    Hi
tough luck, it's a hard place to be
    I ended up:
    – set freeviewbox to record anything userful overnight,
    – bed
    – get up normal time (about 7.30am), news on telly (*not 'daytime tv')
    – down library (free newspapers and free internet access, may also have list of clubs etc that you could look at) so job hunting etc
    – I found I could get on free IT courses – so did Excel (LearnDirect I think)
    – about midday Sainsburys cheapie bin – lunch
    – afternoon , watch recordings, , get bored, walking etc

Other ideas – my local paper has a volunteering section, see what free courses are available to unemployed, DIY…….

    luggage strap or rope.
Tyre on, strap round middle of tyre, start tightening strap and encouraging tyre edges towards rim on both sides, compress tyre centre into rim well, continue tightening and encoraging edge towards rims, should reduce leakage and volume. pump like buggery….

    yes,
get an all party 50 year plan, anybody who deviates has a methane extractor surgically attached, and see which of the renewables does actually work then start a planned and realistic migration strategy.

(* also maybe charging for power along the following lines might help
    – below 3/4 average use @ 3/4 price
    – 3/4 – average use = price
    – 1/4 above average use = price + 1/4
    – above that price + 50% etc etc

yes, by shopping around I've gone from 'we'll take it away for 0' to £125 (Reading area). Pick a local bloke [no travel cost] – or get a mate to tow you there.

ps – what car is it, check on eaby, as certain non runners are going for as much as £400 – if it's a 'desirable' then you might be surprised.

*ps spoken by someone who know *all about current employment law

ditto, why a grad, why not anybody up for it with a bit of go and gumption, personally I think compting skills can be taught – people skills, gumption, initiative etc seem harder to learn ….

could you use skills upgrade and paid training as a job carrot AND TIE THEM to a fair payback deal. (ie when I got a certain v expensive skill – I was on pro-rata for 2 years – if I left before 2 years I paid back x/24th of training cost – after 2 years home free – I see that as fair)

you could try a 20 rising to X DEPENDENT on:
passing Quaif eaxm 1 by ..
    et etc – ie
    type carry on
ps – need to be fair to both sides

I flushed mine myself (something like below – ie time to do it again)

    A couple of fernox/furnux products.
Flusher/cleanser/sludge remover (Sentinel above rang a bell) – fill into system and run for 8 hrs *read the destructions
then drain/flush with water till clear
then add with correct amount inhibitor

As all my rads had drain cocks I just used a hose to drain down.

(*have you tried balancing – ie on one side should be a flow valve – slow the flow to rads thta get hot quickly, increase flow to rads thta are cold.

(*also presumably you've bled etc etc)

I sort of agree with it (previously – not taxed/not insured = 5 day wonder = diappearing act = waste of time)

Feel a bit sorry for someone who makes a genuine mistake (£105 recovery plus £12 per day storage I think), probably more than you get for mugging a pensioner.

(*PS anybody ever seen DVLA prosecuted for a failure on vehicle management – thought not, nothing like fairness – boom boom)

    very hard question

*marry someone on a public sector final salary pension is a more realistic goal

1- what is your genetic life length like (ie at what age did you parents, gparents etc last to), the point being with current law (as I understand it) you MUST buy an annuity at 75 (ie your money becomes somebody elses) and pensions are of no value if you can't take them – understand how much annuity 100,000 money pot buys)

2 – depends where std pensions go and where means testing of pensioners go

3 – you get tax relief (currently on) contributions – but this may be cut to save money, hoever money is ONLY available at pension time (and 25% tax free one off)*Will you be able to contribute a;ll your life or will you have kids that impact your finances

4 – depends what they will do about age expectancy going up (mind you IMHO that may plateau when the obescity generation start getting older)

5 – *assuming you have a private pension it will be invested where you say/agree to, the sales rep gets commission on getting the sell, they DO NOT GET COMMISSION on subsquent performance, so YOU MUST do your own managing/checking/fund switching. Annual growth of 5% might sound good BUT if management fees are 2% and inflation is 3.1% thn you may ish to re-evaluate.

Do a LOT of research, and if you're going in go in ASAP (compound interest)- read up on annuity/annuity purchase, money purchase scheme, tax relief, higher rate tax relief, annual management fees, commission, % growth, fund manager, spreading across funds, risk spreading, age balanced portfolio, track record, fund switching, 25% tax free lump sum and keep your eye on the law………….. (I'd probably also unders ISA as that is another investment vehicle)

    sorry, bit rushed din dins.

well dad worked there,so I know you can get a mini bus down it.
it's also a military zone and the road gets closed (exercises on) – so I'd do some checking on that – also ferry times. *Check ferry price dad thinks it was £15 – can go round base of inlet (very old sheep track they used to use) but ROUGH …. there is APPARENTLY a tea room at lighthouse – but needs checking … one iffy bit on road – locals call it wall of death – dad says on very windy days it was dangerous

*track From Sandwood bay (camping no facilities – river water)to Kinlochbervie hotel is nearly all rideable on a 'cart track' bit steep up from beach, however from lighthouse to there is probably prety shit, that it's tussocks, marsh and quite hard esp if wet season – but has been done.

    Thanks
