If in doubt email PX, I did for the Silk Road frame I bought a couple of weeks ago. Mentioned I was looking at hope headsets, got a reply in less than an hour with spec, hope part numbers and links to the correct hope headsets (not sold by PX so links to Wiggle).

@HobNob what are these repeated issues you talk of?

Looks nice, I don’t suppose you weighed the Selcof before fitting?

@avdave2 have you got a link to those forks? I’m looking on the PX site but not seeing them. Cheers.

Just because you’re asking the question doesn’t mean you can’t do it. Quick 10 minute video on YouTube, order the olive, insert, hose clamp (not 100% necessary but makes it easier) etc and go for it.

@easily if you do buy those Alex wheels, could you please weigh them and the WTB wheels, as I would like to know if they are a kg lighter. Or if anyone has any real world weights I’d be grateful if you could post them.

    Embarrassingly a full bike.

Bought a Lynskey built PX road bike, plumped for full Dura Ace pedals the lot. Zip carbon bar and stem, titanium and carbon wheel skewers, cut out seat clamp with titanium bolt etc. Got carried away with saving weight, unfortunately did all this before I realised road bikes weren’t my thing, so if I round up its probably done 50 miles, so currently an expensive albeit shiny ornament and a reminder not to get too carried away.

@funkmasterp just changed the Tyres on my Fireline, pair of Vittoria Terreno’s to reduce the weight and rolling resistance. Just plumped for some carbon bars in the Use sale, only 660mm left but for my use should be fine, again looking to shed some weight for not much money.

I spent £1 on a loaf of bread 2 years ago at Asda, can’t remember exactly what type of bread it was. Said loaf has now long been digested, is inflation devaluing my £1 / now digested bread then?

Stay clear of those Argos metal sheds.
They come without a base so water seeps in.
They are so thin and flimsy, I’d compare them to Meccano.
    They rust.
The doors are stiff to slid open.
The doors only have plastic handles to put a padlock through so effectively no security.

I had one but it was awful, got as Asgard now and there is no comparison, you get what you pay for, which is why the Argos ones are cheap.

Pulled the trigger and ordered one last night, still had a pair of tyres in my basket so thought why not treat myself.

    Thanks.

Sounds spot on, understand you don’t have anything wider than 2″ but is there pleny room left to accommodate a 2.35″ tyre?

I got hit by an uninsured driver, he gave me his contact details and fake insurance certificate at the scene. Police and my insurance company were both useless, save yourself the hassle and make the claim on your insurance and get on with your life. On renewal my insurance company wanted 50% more (I had protected no claims), shopped around and got it for for the same price as previous year. My claim was regarded as my fault as I correctly informed My insurance company that the other driver had left their lane on a dual carriageway, which apparently unless they admit to it (uninsured driver now in the wind) goes down as a 50/50 as a minimum.

Does the 10% discount work on complete sale bikes?

I’m 5’10” / 5’11” ish so right at the top perhaps just over the recommended size for the medium and right at the bottom of the recommended size for a large. A deal on a pre-built bike with same day dispatch came up on a medium so took a gamble. Pleased I did, size seems spot on for me, average size legs, body and arms etc. Hope this helps?

I hadn’t really noticed the geometry but you’re right it’s Hello Dave esq, albeit the seat stays are curved.

Usual odd PX pricing at the minute, £2000 for a FireLine or £1500 with a dropper post included plus they’ve just added a MRP fork’d version for £1600.

Just read that report, she was also ordered to pay a ‘victim surcharge’, in this instance and in many other reports on similar ‘non victim’ offences that I’ve read, who is the victim that receives said surcharge?

I got one last month, bought it for leisurely sea front cycling so can’t really report how it would fair on the trails.
I can confirm it looks the part, the welds etc look spot on.

PX currently have one of the other Titus frames on sale for £500 if you’re looking at stripping the wheels and forks, might work out more cost efficient.

I’ve got a 9×7 Asgard shed, plenty of head height to stand up, but even with the vent slots it does suffer from condensation on the roof during the winter.

I’ve got electrics in mine so run a small fan on a timer to circulate the air and stick a load of silica traps in it.

They’re very solid, easy to build and I rate it highly.

Specialized Renegade Control also on offer at Merlin, same price but a shade lighter, which do I go for?

Sorry to ask a stupid question, are those Vittoria Terrano XC Race G2.0 TLR able to run with tubes?

Just got a new bike after a good number of years without, came equipped with WTB STi 30 rims with Panaracer Firesport 29er 2.3 tyres. I bought it for beach front leisurely rides with the wife, just looking at shedding some weight (on a budget) and reducing the rolling resistance. Don’t worry, I’m not looking at starting a tube/tubeless debate.

Any other tyre suggestions welcome 😁
