Can I just remove the banjo bolt on the M8000 caliper and use the one that came with the zee,

I didn’t – from the looks of them, the banjo is wider on the Zee’s. I kept the Zee hoses on the Zee calipers and the XT hoses on the XT calipers – just swapped the levers around.

I’m in the same boat, but waiting for a Hello Dave. May arrive this week apparently.

Anyone put some miles on a pair of Isotope wheels yet?

    Can’t be long now!

Hope to be building it next weekend. If not, at least next week.

Running mine across two bikes, both Zee front, existing XT rear. One bike with XT levers, the other Zee. One setup and tested around Cwmcarn. All good – very pleased 😀

Just spoke (typed) to Dale at PX – apparently the Hello Dave’s arrive with them on the 11th of December.

I’m wearing 44.5 size in 5-10 (Adidas gen) and they’re just about big enough. 45 Vulcans going to fit or need 46 do you reckon?

Great. Can’t wait. What’s the score on an axle?

Also, what the dickins is a ‘Paging Post’?

Shame. Anyone spotted something similar elsewhere?

Only 120mm and no lever included, but same post rebranded – https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F333346940671

    Nice.

Parts have now all arrived and I’ve built as much as I can. Tyres on wheels, brakes on bars with Levers on stem on forks.

Went for Isotope wheels. Wanted ~30mm width and UK weather proof hub

    Have gone for :

Yari’s 150mm debonair (£350 new from Germany – may upgrade to Charge damper later)
    Old set of m785 brakes
Superstar Isotope wheels (£180 new w/ discount)
SLX groupset, much of which I had already have
    Brandx dropper (existing spare)
Magic Marys 2.6 front and DHR 2.4 rear
Ragley stubbing stem (my go to stem)
Charge Spoon saddle (the only option in my book)
760mm bars, should be 800mm but don’t have any spares that wide

This bike is “experimental” in my eyes (crazy geometry and my first 29er), so trying to keep the cost down. Frame will get swapped for a full suss frame next year if it’s not a keeper. Perhaps wheels will go too depending on how the ride/survive.

    What are others planning?

Yes, also keen for some photos. Last component (forks) for my build arrive this week. It’s going to be a long wait for the frame…

Stick with the hardtail. Much more fun. Full suss feels like cheating and not really riding when occasionally ride mine.

Also looking 29″ 150mm Boost forks. Haven’t found anything better for £400 other than Yari’s. Where did you see Pikes at £400 @subduedsupernova?

Go steel. Love my Switchback. HT without the harsh edge and vibration of Aluminium.

Anyone wondering if they should have gone for the XL Hello Dave? I’m wondering if I should have gone Large rather than XL

Shopping for user 29er forks – will 175mm steerer be enough on a Hello Dave XL with a 140mm headtube? My preferred stem has a 30mm stack.

Mine clamped at the post, but I installed it the other way around. It doesn’t look great but works perfectly and much easier to install :-)

@brant have you ridden the frames yet? What are they like?

I think they’ve put it back on hold whilst they unwind the sizing issue they have – they’ve emailed me to clarify.

Looks like they’re available again. I think they got marked as out of stock whilst they corrected the sizing issue.

It’s it true that the frames are 148 but will take 142?

I just used a regular bag and taped the dropper post with electrical tape to protect it from the strap. Worked fine.
