Nope. When the traffic plays up, which is more often than not, it’ll take you forever to cross the river.
I’m in South Ockendon (Brandon Groves, decent estate), which is very close to grays, and can still take an age to get near grays at times.
Thorndon and Epping riding is ok.

Saw the Marlins last year. Good experience, seemed very surreal taking in the size of the stadium, then realising it was fully air conditioned and under cover.
Few beers in the Clevelander afterwards. It does get a bit dicey around there later in the evening though.

only now have we been able to develop the technology to prove that he (and General Relativity) were right.

Technology, which is developing at a stunning rate when you actually step back, look around you and see what’s going on!

The first part of this makes an interesting read:

You will be surprised how quickly the 1tb drive can be filled.
We plumped for the 500gb console and hooked up an external 3tb USB3 drive.
Faster than the internal Xbox drive too, which is nice.

Mini rig is okay, but mine is at the back of the man-drawer since buying a “Sharkk Boombox” from Amazon, for £44.
    Crap name, amazing sound. Recommended!

    with lockable lid, Really?

Yup, really. Supposedly to stop kids from dicking about and falling in. Or drowning kittens. Or something.

B&Q are selling a 210 litre butt, with lockable lid, stand and diverter kit for £27. Worth a punt at that price.

Aye, it does provide some comfort igm! I had Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance fitted this time last year, and it looks like they will be one of the few that I manage to get decent mileage from!

The 163 is basically a remap of the 140 lump, i think it was to give it some more oomph probably due to emission controls. I thought the 140 drove better.

Oh, and factor in £2-300 for a new pair of front tyres every year. The 2.0 Tdci is a heavy engine, and eats tyres fast. I’ve had very few brands that last much longer than 12k!

I’m currently looking into this as well. I looked at the Swann gear, and from trawling cctv forums, it seems you can do better price wise for the same specs.

There’s a decent 4 channel 720p camera setup on Amazon which looks like a winner:

ANNKE 4CH 720P PoE NVR HD 1280*720P CCTV Camera System and 1TB HDD w/ 4 Weatherproof Superior Night Vision HD 720P Security Cameras System (HDMI Output, 1 Megapixels Hi-Resolution, Vandalproof/Weatherproof Metal Housing, P2P Technology/E-Cloud Service, Smartphone QR Code Scan Quick Access, PC Easy Remote Access)

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00NZWIZYS/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_a-xzvb0QRARH7

Its ONVIF compliant, and uses power over Ethernet cabling. This means you don’t have to use the supplied recorder to access the cameras, but can use your home PC network, with whatever software you choose.

The PoE cabling is a nice touch.

Other than that, I’m looking into individual 1080p PoE cameras from a company called Hikvision. They are about £90 each, but come highly recommend.

Galaxy also has opening windows for the 3rd row, and a beefed up A/C system over the Smax.
Smax takes forever to cool down due to the huge interior space, and never really feels cold due to this.
I have an Smax for the record, originally wanted the Galaxy, but decided this was a touch more practical for day to day duties.
Been reliable bar needing the turbo replaced due to being coked up, thanks to short journeys by the previous owner.

Yep. Have had their TV and fibre BB since they were Telewest. Currently have s TiVo package which I find pretty good. Broadband has always been rock solid. Not had many issues with their service, but when I have, they have always been resolved quickly.
Whether that’s typical or not, who knows!

I have found Barrettine decking oil to be just as good as Liberon, only much kinder to the wallet at £25 per 5l.

Sadly not. Its a bit out of the way, on the fringe of a downtown neighbourhood. There’s a restauranty / bar area outside, which obviously sprang up to cater for the hotel, but it all feels a bit fake and ‘ghetto’. Incredibly expensive too.

Hotel is big. Prepare to spend aaages waiting for the lifts to arrive at your floor.

I’d advise swerving some time there if you can and get a local taxi (not the luxury ones they practically force you into at the lobby) and head into DC. Do the touristy bits, see the Whitehouse, Capitol Hill, National Monument etc. oh, and the National Air & Space Museum is a must see!

Depends, something upright with a decent motorised brush bar if you have mostly carpets, or a cylinder if not.
Our Dyson died after 10 years of stirling service. We replaced with a Sebo, which didnt seem as good, so we replaced that with a DC55 Dyson. Happy with it, though these newer ones definitely feel a lot more plasticy / fragile. Performance is really good, so hopefully my initial concerns will prove wrong.

Sounds exactly like “pompholyx eczema”, which my son suffers from. He’s had it on and off for a couple of years and has been told by a specialist that he will grow out of it.

Can flare up really badly on occasion, and always clears up when we go abroad on holiday, due to the increased UV exposure.

He has worked his way through an armoury of creams, the ones keeping it in check when it does flare up being:
    Fucidin
    Betnovate / Betamethasone

That in combination with regular moisturising seems to do the job.
It’s an unpleasant thing to suffer with, so I wish you the best in keeping yours in check!

Enjoyed reading many of the above, oh and Bill Brysons “Short History of Nearly Everything”, I read that twice, back to back.

    Also, some faves this summer:

Jim Butcher – The Dresden Files

Ben Aaronovitch – Rivers of London

Ian Tregillis – The Milkweed Triptych

    Ramez Naam – Nexus

None of teh S-Max models has fixed rails as standard or as an option.
Only the removable gutter-mount bars are available.

Shame, as my old Focus estate had permanent rails as factory fit, and I always found it damn handy as you could alter the bar positioning for various loads.

It’s something I have toyed with installing too. Here’s a couple of other options that are on my reading list:

“Tado” offers some fancy features above that of Hive, including the control of heating by geofencing:
