2nd Dirk, don’t discount a damaged element. I attended a fire caused by a UFH mat in a conservatory. Clear signs of overheating in the FCU. People were lucky and noticed it quickly but damaged a large section of their floor.

Yeah that makes sense. Probably shouldn’t expect it to run exactly the same as my previous trainer. Thanks all.

Anyone else using it on Zwift seeing the above behaviour? I’m using a Galaxy Tab S8

I’m finding that in ERG mode mine won’t sit at the power allocated for the interval on Zwift. It drifts about +/- 10W ish sometimes a bit more or less. My last trainer would sit exactly on the interval power. Tried both firmwares, spindown calibration and Zwift is set to 3sec average but no change. Is this normal behaviour or potential issue?

Sounds like it might be defective. Any pictures? Perhaps the thread is stripped?

Does the screw come away when you pull the adjuster off? Or is it the part it’s screwed into that’s coming away?

Should not be able to pull it off. A bolt should hold both adjusters in place.

A non latching switch (or momentary) I think.

@rascal Got the 5 ltr. Took me a second but the hydration pack is easy enough. Slid the top clip off to the side and unfold the top. Shouldn’t take undue amount of force.

Went through the same thought process recently. We got a Bioethanol. Real flame no flue required or nasty ppm 2.5 particles or smoke.

Picked it up 2nd hand so pretty cheap.

Most interesting things so far have been

A lady in her underwear posing on a motorbike having her picture taken.

A machine gun nest set up just outside an army camp we then also road into.

A pigeons carcass just falling out the sky almost landing on me.

Got a pair of these and ride in then all the time now. Only in shorts when it’s warm. My bluegrass pads fit under them fine.

+1 on the Sentier. It’s great fun. Mine is also frame only build with 160mm Yari on the front and 2.8″ tyres.

Thanks, I’m happy enough to be refunded if they can’t/won’t fix or replace but I don’t want store credit. TJ’s link seems to say that the can’t make me take the credit/vouchers so hopefully they will see sense and just refund my payment method.

Just to temper those other arguments. I built all DT Swiss with straight pull on my last wheel set. Easiest build ever. I feel easier than j bend as all the spokes are basically pointing in the right direction already for you. I just bought extra spokes to keep as spares. I’ve broken about 3 spokes in 27 years of mountain biking so I don’t think it’s that big an issue.

Use the DT Swiss calculator and check out starbike for spokes.

Take luftkappe out and put the new air spring in. In know I’m in the minority here but I didn’t get on with the luftkappe in my 160mm Pike RCT3. I found they always felt harsh and was unable to use all the travel. The RS air spring gives a feeling that I like better.

Picked one of these up also, nice frame. I need to get forks for it and see the specs say 42mm offset. I can’t find 42mm offset 27.5 forks anywhere is it even worth worrying about?

I got one of these Elite Novo Smart from Halfords. With the 10% BC discount I think it’s great. My first foray into turbo trainers but it works great so far from what I can tell.

You can fix this, it’s a pretty poor design that lets crap get into the back of the piston. This then roughs it up and causes it to jam in the bore. I dismantled my lever cleaned it all up and it was fine after that.

I think the manufacturers are missing a trick by not producing something more slimline for use with open face helmets. I find my 100% googles also really pinch my nose. It seems to be possible to get mud behind most style glasses so googles were good but just seem overly bulky.

Chain and cassette worn? My m8s started behaving like this and new chain and cassette saw it back to normal.

Question about these bean to cup delonghi machines. Are the versions with auto milk frothier worth getting over the ones with manual steam wand? Seems like the manual wands will give hotter milk anyone with experience of both types?

    Couple of these
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321380802075 one bar one helmet (or get the 3 led version for bars)

And replace the batteries with these
    https://www.bikelightsuk.com/batteries/magicshine_mj6038_4400_mah_standard_battery_P604.html

And get a charger from there too. Will do the job nicely. I used the batteries they came with for a winter with no issues but after reading about a few issues I replaced them just to be safe.

http://www.gtbicycles.com/usa_en/2017/bikes/mountain-fullsuspension/verb-comp Specs say it’s fitted with an FSA Orbit C-40-B which is here http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/fsa-orbit-c-40-acb-1-5-headset-no-42-acb-/rp-prod84328 so looks like 42/52 If the CRC site is correct.

What about a hose kit from uberbike or similar?

    gt900uk
    Free Member

It’s really easy, remove the lever from the bike and disconnect the hose. Uncover the Allen screw(behind small rubber cover) that holds the lever blade pivot in place, remove it then push the pivot out. The lever comes off. And you can then push the piston out the body from the cable side to the lever blade. Dirt can easily get righting behind the piston under the lever and this seems to scratch the plastic piston body causing the piston to get sticky, cleaning and smoothing solve my issues and they were fine for ages after. The only fiddly bit is getting the servowave mechanism in and out.
