    I sold mine for £150.

It had just been serviced and rebuilt by SRAM / Fishers as it broke, so was basically new, with new stanchion

Foxes are mainly scavengers… And even if it did bite its finger off why would it spit it out and not finish the meal.

Sounds like negligent parents trying to blame something else. Probably trapped it in a door or let the kid play with scissors.

Mine lasted all of 6 month before it failed and the stanchion wore through.

Sent it back to fisher who replaced everything and sent it back like new… They said it was my fault and that I needed to service it more (6months use bear in mind!!!)

I pointed out there was nothing in the manual about service intervals, and asked if they could please advise… They didn’t, and I sold it shortly after whilst it was still brand new.

… Working better than my 5 month old Lyrik RLR’s then! Poploc doesn’t spring back and they don’t seem to lockout.. Gone exactly the same way as my mates Lyriks.

My rockshox on my hard tail did that after 3 month. Supply LBS said it was common and something inside, I sprayed with wd40 and it has been fine ever since. The lockou performance has always been questionable.

Free bikes, I’m sure they don’t care about anything others than getting the spare bikes off quickly as possible

We did Chatel / Morgins/ PdS area last year… It was a nice introduction, just way to busy, and far to man made… It was wet went we went in June and the whole place was a mess, with huge ruts and braking bumps that would feel big with even 200mm.

We’ve book Sainted Foy with thewhiterooms this year, hopefully gonna be much more natural and quieter, being guided it should be epic, heard nothing but good things.

Yep, no different to 60mph down a bumpy mountain A road.

They are designed for those forces, the frame not so much.

If you can afford a bianchi road bike in carbon, you can afford an £89 Thule fork mounted rack ;-)… They are much more stable too

I think gold floating rotors and hubs would be a bit to much… even on my brightly coloured bike. :(

I have a gold hope BB that I’m using as a paper weight in the hope that my current BB can last until spring lol

It’s not to bright or garish… I guess it depend on the colour of your bike though.

When your bike is neow yellow, no one will really notice another piece of small bright metal

    Matches the Kashima too ;-)

I had an almost identical break to the one you have posted.

I had my cast of 3 weeks ago and the hospital offered me bugger all in the way of physio, they just gave me a little brace and said keep it moving.

This weekend was my first proper ride where I felt I could go fast and hard downhill again.

Like has been said the worst part by far is getting the tendons moving again that have not moved for 6weeks+.

I bought one of those spinning gyro balls to strengthen my wrist, and just kept using it. The first small couple of ride it was horrible and hurt a lot, but then after a bath it felt better for it… you just got to use it.

I have northface Hedgehog GTX XCRIII

They do what they say on the tin, waterproofing works well.

The innersoles are really comfy, BUT started to fall apart on a climb up Le Tournette… by the time I got back down my feet were a complete mess.

Cheers PaulD and everyone else for answers, I suck at doing things myself but thought I’d give it a go. Hopefully have it running like new soon.

    My triple is 22, 34, 44…

I’ve ordered the first link then realised it say 42t compatible… Will this not work with my chain set? Do I need the second link?

I’ll only be running my triple as a double, but with a gamut bash guard, is that going to be a problem, I suck at this :-(

Brilliant except mine was damaged beyond repair after 6 months use… Only to be told I should have serviced it more, during that 6 months, except the Operation and Maintenance Manual says NOTHING about servicing requirements or schedule.

In fairness SRAM did replace it, along with a snotty letter saying it needs servicing more, but still with no guidance on when or how often.

I did love having it, but I’ve quickly got used to not having one again.

because on a 30 miles ride full leg protection is super uncomfortable.

even if your only riding downhill it’s still crap and never fits right, everyones calfs are different shapes and sizes, and everyone shins are different lengths, I’ve never tried any that fitted or were comfortable.

Great way to get stolen bikes for cheap, then sell all the parts and scrap the frames.

The only people who are going to accept rock bottom prices, are people that have stolen a bike worth £3k and want a quick £500.

Hope Valley and Ladybower are ruined and to busy :-(

Marple, longnor and Hollinsclough seem to be the less explored areas by the masses for some reasons, there is plenty of places in the peaks off the main routes.

They are awesome descents, the faster you go the easier they are.

They are not the usual peaks descents though which are usually loose rocks / boulders. Much smoother sand stone / grit stone. You have to watch out for 4x4s and scramblers at weekends though.

I found the POC helmets really uncomfortable.

The armour on the other hand is awesome.

I have the VPD2 elbow and knee pads, they are super comfy and work very well. Broke my arms at the weekend I landed that hard but the elbow pads and knee pads did their job.

I rode with a reverb for 6 months until it broke… Love it, thought id never go back. Ive been riding with a fixed saddle height for ages now and im more than used to it again.

The reverb always had play in it from new, so the fixed post feels so much better. Rode the full end2end and passportes with feeling the urge to ever drop my saddle.

Dying at the Manx end2end over the weekend… you can’t tell how windy it was riding up that hill :(

Passportes Du Soliel going back down to chatel

and as others have included water based activities, chilling on the wave at newark weir shortly after it decided to collapse and become fully enclosed

Not the best ride for me, came 601st with a remarkable 5hr 58mins 31 secs lol.

Looking at my Garmin I lost 38 minutes in the woods… I was stood at a standstill for 10 minutes twice while people that fell off on the roots got seen to. Was tempting to duck the barrier and run with the bike but everyone that did got abuse so I stood like a lemming :(

The wind was a nightmare, the last descent (with the wood work) was tough… if you stopped pedaling, you stopped moving, downhill. :S

The expert from Gardiner and Theobold who spoke at a Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) seminar I went to recently stated with confidence that wind turbines in the UK don’t even return the energy which was used to manufacture them.

Which is of course why many very rich, very well educated and advised investors and pension funds invest billions in developing wind farms. Because thats how they made their money, poor choices and decisions. Damn those stupid rich people.

I work for a turbine manufacturer Brycey, one you will be more than familiar with.

I’m intrigued by the yoyo system on that TP, looks quite different to the typical falcon / mansafe system.

I like then, and not just because I earn a reasonable living from them.

As long as the years of wind/weather investigation support the justification for the site, so that there is sufficient wind to make them worthwhile. There are some onshore sites that look awful though, I don’t like those.

Amongst other, I’m heaving involved in the construction of the 160 turbines in the Irish sea Brycey talks of, a site visit is fairly unlikely though to be honest.

These guys were a daily occurence on our trip, we saw them fly into Chatel town centre helipad 4 times on one evening alone on the Saturday PPdS day… probably because it was hot, dry and fast.

I ride in the peaks weekly, where to be honest the surfaces are worse (big loose rocks) rather than mud and small loose pebbles stuff, although obviously not as steep or for he same duration. You could tell the people that had never ridden surfaces like that before!

The twice I crashed was because the friends I was following crashed lol… once going into Les Gets down a fast tight single track with a drainage rut from the rain… slid on my face for 15m – 20m (yay for full face). Then once at the Morgins down hill going to slow down a steep wet rooty bit, again full face saved the day (probably)
