The judgement at the Berlin regional court is not yet legally binding, Deutsche Welle said.

Going by the last sentence, is it a fact that they are going down, or is there still more to come in this case?

parading round the house after a road ride while the bath’s running with just my leg and arm warmers on

Knowing that we may have both been doing the same thing…at the same time….has left me feeling a little violated!

Right oh, lived in Athens for 9 years.

It’s rough around the edges, but it’s a proper hectic city and has crud loads of history.

Don’t hire a car until you leave Athens, use the Metro (probably one of the best kept things in Athens and dirt cheap). Cabs are dirt cheap too.

Get up the Acropolis, also go up the other hill “Filopapou”, nice walk, good views of the Acropolis and down to the coast, actually most of Athens.

Come out of Thessio station, few nice places for lunch, forget Monistaraki for dinner…very touristy. If you fancy a good fish place, catch a cab down to Micro Limano.

Gazi, loads of bars and stuff down there.

As for skiing, forget it, just not worth it, too late in the season and won’t really be worth it.

Head out to Pelaponisos, beach, mountains and pine forests. You’ve got Delphi (definitely worth a visit), ancient Olympia And don’t miss out on Epivdaros, very intersting for ancient stuff.

March you say, might be sunny, but won’t be overly warm, take coats and woolies just in case…the sea will be COLD!!

Best thing about Greek cuisine is having lots of bits. Don’t really go for starters mains, get lots of bits and bobs.

Just remember “Yia (ya) sas” when saying hello and goodbye and you are laughing.

    What a bunch of wingers…woe is me…ohhh I have a kid…or two kids…..

    :D :D

Diddums…3 of the little monsters here….I can’t even take a quite morning moment without WWIII kicking off!!

Any if any of you guys have 4 kids….you are Saddists!!!

Joking aside, of course we love em…but we also had pretty cool lives before hand….being active, getting out for rides, camping, trips etc.

It’s hard, we’re tired, have less time, more stress and we don’t really get a chance to do the things we used to love (well not that often and not when we just want to).

But slowly slowly it gets better and we get to craft kids who will hopefully also enjoy getting out in nature and appreciating a good bike ride with mates and perhaps a bit of camping.

Ours are now daughter at 7 3/4 and twin boys at 6. First years are really tough. Quite good when they are young, chuck em in the bike trailer and they fall asleep, they are still quite cautious so don’t climb high up trees, or hang over big drops….now it’s a bit tricky as they are testing their bounderies. Both boys have already had stitches in their heads!

But to be fair, they are now enjoying bike rides, nothing crazy, short distances and no big hills, but it’s a start.

Main thing, you have to organise a couple of times during the year where you, and or the Missus get a bit of me time. I normally try and get a weeks riding in with a good mate. He’s got 3 sprogs too so we just enjoy taking it easy and feeling physically tired instead of mentally tired.

I’m also lucky that I can commute by bike, makes a big difference to sanity.

My tips, don’t stress, kids pick up on that (especially babies), just makes things worse.

    Lack of sleep sucks
Sex…first time in my life (only twice or three times mind) that I had to say no…just too tired and not interested.
Being able to have an afternoon snooze at the weekend.
Man I miss laying in until 10:30. If I sleep until 9 I feel like I’ve been in a coma.
Being able to take care of my morning abolutions when the wife is out without the fear of arguments starting.

But as they say, little kids, little problems….I’m just hoping we do a good enough job to give them the skills to get through their teenage years unscathed.

If all your other pees are not 100% okay and you have a feeling that after a pee you need to go within 20-30 minutes because you didn’t empty your bladder you may have an enlarged prostate…also, when you shoot your load you may notice it’s not the same as it was.

Perhaps if you are waking up with a boner it may take a moment to kick things off..perhaps try running the tap.

With all that said, PSA test is very straight forward. Finger up the butt is pretty straight forward too….just make sure they’ve cut their nails…oh and ladies tend to have smaller fingers than blokes….just saying.

If it comes to the fact that it’s all okay, but you have an enlarged prostate, there are natural pills you can take, or prescribed pills. They work, although they will take a couple of months to sort things out.

Go to the quacks, better to get it sorted rather than worry.

I saw my Dad wither away as a vegetable over a year and a bit…with no chance of ever coming back (Massive stroke). No Sight, unable to really breath on his own. Pretty much no movement apart from the odd shudder.

They kept him alive as long as possible as he was in a private home and the government was paying the bill.

    Disgusting.

How in this day and age we have more care for cats and dogs than we do for Humans is beyond me.

If you had kept a dog alive like they did to my dad everyone would be up in arms.

Albert Hall. Laughed in his face when introduced to him thinking it was a joke, paid a heavy price as he became my manager eventually…

He wasn’t a sparks was he?

My Dad had a guy working for him (this is quite a few years back) with the same name.

Yep, been there. By Christ the few slashes after that bring tears to your eyes.

I mentioned it on another post, but my Dr (for this particular appointment) required the assistance of his receptionist who doubles up as a nurse…thank Christ I didn’t need to book another appoinment….pulled my strides up and high tailed it out of there never to come back!

I only went in for a sore finger.

When i said i didn’t have one, he replied ‘Not you; me.’

    Ohhh, that made me laugh.

All the best to the OP…I know it’s not easy but you are doing the best thing.

If it helps I had to have a camera shoved down my old chap and the “receptionists” who also double up as nurses had to assist (I like to think it was a two handed job)….thank Christ on that occassion I didn’t need to re-arrange another appointment.

Not sure if Jorvik is open – got flooded Xmas 2015

Hmmmmm, probably smells even worse than it was meant to….As a young lad I thought that was brilliant at how bad part of the exhibition smelt!!

Shame….I’m trying to introduce the kids to more British stuff as they have never lived there….and nothing is more British than our fair share of Invasions in our history!

Thanks for all the suggestions. The boys are already excited about the trip so hopefully we’ll be able to pack a few days of interesting day trips in….and perhaps a proper beer or two for dad!

    Cheers.

York is also worth a visit

Ahh, yes, I remember going there years ago when I was just a nipper. Seem to remember they had a good Viking museum.

I should imagine the boys would enjoy that.

How about the appendix? It’s sole purpose in humans is to randomly try to kill us on a whim.

I heard a documentary the other day where latest research believes the Appendix may be a last line of defense when it comes to Parasites….Or something along those lines, it was windy and I was on my bike so I didn’t hear it very clearly….also I have some really strange dreams….so I might have made that up….but I’m pretty sure it’s along those lines ;)

Either way…don’t be so heavy on the Appendix man.

    Just my tuppence worth…

We had a company discount with HP just before Christmas.

I had 400 Francs discount on one of these:

    http://store.hp.com/SwitzerlandStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=X9Y12EA&opt=UUZ&sel=NTB

Only been using it a few weeks, but pretty good. Seems nice and quick, boots up in seconds, I’d done some video editing with hitfilm, super quick. Nice speakers too.

Bit pricey I know, but pretty good. Plus nice to be able to flip the screen when just surfing tut internet…although I had to use a stylus….hate finger prints on the screen.

As above, although you might want to have a tap for the size of the thread just to clear it out. I don’t put our bars on often, but a couple of times I’ve had to clear the thread out, otherwise it feels just a bit too tight and I’ve been concerned that I’ll strip the thread.

Had an S-Max for 6 years.

Comfy, does the job, plenty of room.

Actually holds the road pretty well without little roll.

I think at that age it should have 6 gears, ours is a bit old now and only has the 5 speed box which is a tad noisy on the autobahns. Had it on the German autobahns last week and even with a 2.0 petrol engine with 170000KM it’s still going okay.

I’ll probably run this one into the ground and then get another for family duties.

    Many congratulations.

Any idea when you are thinking of getting the second dog?

Having a new born is pretty intensive, it’s going to be a little different for the current dog as there is something new in the house getting your attention. Add to that a second dog…might cause some friction.

As for Cars, Estates, but bear in mind, young kids have so much crap that goes with them. I couldn’t wait until ours were old enough to leave the push chair behind, they take up a lot of room.

Jesus Christ, talk about first World bull carp.

Why do these kids have to go off to the other side of the World?

We used to do the PGL trips to Wales. Bit of rock climbing, hiking in the pi$$ing rain, canoeing in water so cold that if you were unfortunate enough to go in the drink you were rushed back and thrown in the shower before hypothermia set in. Bit or Archery and orienteering. Bloody great trips they were. Great fun, brilliant character building and teaching you how to function with others and didn’t cost more than I pay for a family of 5 to go skiing in Europe.

4K….I’m doing okay for myself, but even I think that’s a lot of money for a school trip. Do they stay in 5 star hotels and fine dine every night?

It’s a shame that people put such ideas into young kids and make them feel bad if they don’t go….

Cycling actually helped it out a massive amount

Funnily enough it’s one of the few things that I have zero problems with. Even when I’m having problems walking, it doesn’t hurt at all on the bike.

Did you have a bag to drain off the fluid? Or do they just stitch you up once they are done?

I haven’t had it for too long so hoping the damage is minimal. It’s weird, when it does hurt, when I first stand up in take a minute or two to warm up, once I’m moving it seems okay.

I’m probably going to go for a full knock out. I asked the surgeon whether it makes a difference for them and to be truthful I’m not a great patient for things like that. I’d rather be out of it, let them get on with the job and wake up once it’s all done.

You forgot to mention the Beer….boy oh boy, they do like some strong ones.

Cool place, kind of like Switzerland in the fact that everything is all very nice (and expensive), everything just works, but they are easier going, oh and they have descent interesting places to eat, good pubs and the Sea…but apart from that….like Switzerland ;)

They all seem to speak perfect English….which is just as well as Danish doesn’t strike me as the easiest of languages to pick up.

I’d like to head back there one day.
