it almost makes looks like scooting is a valid form of self expression in a couple of sequences during the film..
when of course.. it’s very clear that scooting is simply the contemptible refuge of simperingly tragic bellends who don’t have the skill and balls to master the skateboard..
:D :D
They’re nuts for scooters over here, got a scooter park just near to where I live….and I live a bit in the sticks…they are everywhere!!
I think it’s one of those things….soon as you sprout pubes…it’s time to move on!
growingladFree MemberI got one of these too.
Okay, for 20 quid it’s hard to be harsh.
The light and everything else looks to be of an okay build standard.
The Chinglish translated scrap of paper (user instructions), mentioned something about not leaving the batteries charging without supervision…well I think that’s what they meant…Personally it will always be in the back of my mind when charging, like any other battery.
Light pattern…hmmm, I thought it was fine/good whilst going along at a normal pace….when I got to a couple of “fast” sections I found myself looking for something a bit less spotty.
But it is bright. The dim setting, okay for the road…I wouldn’t mind it being a bit brighter.
The flashy setting….Just don’t….You’ll give half the surrounding area epilepsy.
The button is a bit sensitive so you sometimes have to try a couple of times to get the setting you want.
The O ring….hmmm, not great either.
But as I started…It’s 20 quid. For that price….you really can’t grumble.
I think if you really get into night riding, you need something a bit better, but to start out, no worries. I think this light would be handy as a backup….or if you do road rides in tut country, perfect.
Either way…I think you definitely get more than you pay for (if you get my drift), when you look what you’ll have to pay to get something better.
growingladFree MemberDoes it matter….after the first one things are gonna be very hazzy…just like being 14 and nicking one of your Dad’s beers ;)
After a few weeks off, not sure if you wanna dive straight into a real heavy beer.
Must admit I had a few Spitfires over the Crimble period and really enjoyed those.
Just the right amount of heaviness, whilst still having a fresh crisp taste….blimey, I’m sounding like that pretentious wine tasting woman!! :)
growingladFree MemberHow the **** does a post on winter tyres reach 5 pages???? WTF
growingladFree MemberWhat!!! they wash it in “soap”!!!!????
I just give it a rinse to get any bone shards off (if it’s a steak with a bone) or other bits of scrap..
growingladFree MemberYep, agreed, we have to have them here for insurance, although to be fair, they get there use in Ice and cold temps. Never driven on them before.
We went skiing one weekend and I had to drive up this snow/Ice mountain road that hadn’t been cleared.
When I saw it, my jaw dropped, it was late at night, had wife and daughter in the car, thought this isn’t going to end well.
I was super surprised, it was like I was driving my old Landrover again with 4×4.
Main difference is braking in the freezing temps.
growingladFree MemberSpiked tyres….that’s so last session(*)
I was out at the weekend with semi slicks!!
I kid you not, I chucked em on a few weeks ago as I’d been towing the kids around in their trailer on cycle paths.
Popped out Friday night for a quick blast and thought sod it..they’ve cleared a couple of cycle psycho paths…I’ll just stick to them…
Obviously I saw a bit of snow and thought…let’s just see…couldn’t believe it….they worked pretty well….although it was really cold and hard snow!
(*) Although I will hold my hand up and say I wasn’t “quite” going the same speed as Matt :)
Nice video, think I may have to look at them there spiked tyres!
growingladFree MemberNow IT network engineer. Was electrical engineer before that and started working life off as a floor layer.
Got to this stage by working my ass off and doing lots of reading which is funny as although I didn’t mind school and i was reasonable well behaved, I just didn’t try much.
Think I’m lucky as I enjoy what i do, I’m good at it ( just seems to make sense) money is good, you can do it most places of the world and it changes so there’s always something new to learn.
Not sure I’d want to do another job…. Well apart from fighter jet pilot or racing driver ;)
growingladFree MemberGood comfy car. On long drives fuel is okay. Through town not great. I’d go for a 7 seater if you already have 3 kids. I’ve got a 2006 one with 5 speed box. It needs 6. Parking sensors come in very handy. I don’t have much choice on cars as I need 3 kids seats. But it’s not too bad a car to drive. Comes in its element on long runs. Drove from CH to UK and back at Christmas and arrived both times pretty fresh.
growingladFree MemberErm, is wasn’t was it?
You are therefore complicit in the whole Armstrong cheating debacle.
BURN HIM!!!!
Probably was….For certain items I can make a Scottish bloke called Yishak McTightbutt look like a big spender.
Actually now I think about it…first one was cheap…I didn’t own a road bike in those days. The other one might have been a little bit of hero worship…..oh dear…guilty as accused….
Looks like it’s time to get some new road jerseys…..last seasons one’s mind you
Look after the Pennies….pounds look after themselves…. ;)
growingladFree MemberWear. Correct, apologies, unlike me to make such a mistake.
It was the cheapest jerseys. For me paying over the top for Ralpha kit is a tad daft!
Now that I know I’ll be pissing people off twice….as I pass them (wwwohoohohho)…. I shall carry on wearing them untill they disintegrate.
growingladFree MemberHe’s okay….I can watch him and think, okay, he’s giving it a crack.
That Russ guy (think that’s his name)….I said to the wife yesterday, there are many people in the public eye who are quite interesting, and probably sharing a beer or two with them would be time well spent….but that Russ guy…..
Complete knob jockey.
growingladFree MemberBloody hell, if I was single I’d have one of them there toasters….looks great!!
Always through a tin of oiled Tuna in the mix from time to time….With a nice bit of salad :))
growingladFree MemberP.s. I don’t like salad.
Heretic!!!!!!
I do like a nice Salad..although to be fair, not much cop for getting your energy levels up.
What about soups?
Must admit, I tend to have what ever was for dinner the night before for my lunch. You can get pretty good tupperware boxes with clamp down lids to stop nasty slopages in your bag.
growingladFree MemberTell the father there are photos (wink wink) of said daughter on the phone and 600 notes should see the phone returned to him.
growingladFree MemberTell em…give me proof and we’ll discuss…
GL….lawyer in the making…. ;)
growingladFree Member3rd Earl of Windthorp
Good heavens man…one must use one’s title.
Where would one be without standards
growingladFree MemberDon’t stress, all 3 of mine in Kindegrippe.
You have your days where they don’t want to go, but generally they love it!
You’ll notice how much they come along…they’ll be a few older kids and the younger ones soon start to look up to them.
They get to cover them selves in paint..sparkly stuff, play with different toys..they love it.
Yep, get ready for the Germs….and trust me, they’ll bring stuff back that will knock you flat, no matter how fit and well you are.
I swear if you want conduct biological warfare…just parachute a couple of play schools worth of 2-4 year olds in….everyone else will be knocked for six in days!!!
Main thing, when you drop em off, be super cool and let them know that you or mum will pick em up later.
Within 2 or 3 days my daughter was running off without even giving Dad a kiss or saying goodbye…think I was more upset ;)
growingladFree MemberSome great photos of their original store:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/gallery/2013/jan/15/hmv-oxford-street-store-gallery
Aye, they were good
I was getting ready for the next slide to say Dub Step
growingladFree MemberHmmmm, I didn’t think I’d like this 6music, but listened to it a bit over the weekend and I’m now listening to it at my desk.
really not my cup of tea music wise….but I like it…..weird!!
growingladFree MemberBest break that wheel barrow out….
………it’s gonna be a while before you offload!
growingladFree MemberI’ve got the Endura Stealth, above your current budget, but by God is it a good jacket. I’ve had a fair bit of Endura stuff, might not be the cheapest, but you get your monies worth that’s for sure.
Regarding size, hmm, if you are boarderline L or XL, go XL…it can be a little snug!
Credit where credit’s due…it’s good kit!
growingladFree MemberWhy don’t you look at the Ionian Islands?
Got the Islands, but they are nice and Green too.
I might be a little biased, but if you want a Med holiday…It’s got to be Greece…can’t be beaten for Beaches, culture and food (as long as you stay away in August and from the real “tourist” traps.
Although I will say Corsica was pretty bloody impressive, would visit there again!
growingladFree MemberBingo. 2 (parents) into 3 don’t go.
I always thought that 3 kids would be three times as hard, but it isn’t.
1 is hard; 2 is ten times as hard; 3 is a hundred tiems.
Apart from that, it’s great.
+1
GL, father of 3
Best of luck though, Twins the 2nd time around so I’ve only done that “part” twice…I was strangely relaxed on both.
I actually mentioned yesterday that after 3 having another wouldn’t be such a shock….hmm, reckon it’s time for those two bricks!!
growingladFree Memberhmmmm, Think it might take a while for me to warm to this 6music business….I’ll give it a go.
Any others?
growingladFree MemberMy kids are doomed.
Wife speaks Greek to em….err hxello peeps!! I instruct them to talk proper like…one of the boys, 2 and a bit, said to me “alright mate” the other day…so proud!!
They go to a Swiss German Kindergrippe and I’ve been told are speaking the local lingo…not that I would notice…it’s all foreign to me.Any my sister who swapped her nationality and has been living in Leeds/Sheffield for donkies speaks all NM.
After a few days at Christmas and spending time with Auntie I caught one of em saying saying something in Northern.
Actually not sure how many others have witnessed young bilingual kids…really quite impressive.
growingladFree MemberVery little for about the last 12 years. Odd bit of bread…but that goes to the birds, so it’s not completely wasted.
Pretty much what ever is left over from the evening meal gets eaten for lunch the next day.
I didn’t realise how I’d got until I was back at my Mum’s with my sister over Christmas….Christ, the amount they threw away had me foaming at the mouth!!
My mum, who lives alone, has more stuff in her fridge (which will go out of date before eaten generally) than we as a family of 5 have.
Has me spitting bullets!
growingladFree MemberThey are now showing a 1200 Lumen one
http://www.evomtb.co.uk/1200-lumen-bike-light-iamoutdoor
Is this still a gooden?
Notice someone mentioned about the Hope Universal bar mount. I’ve had a look at in on CRC….how does that work then?
growingladFree MemberThat my Great Grandmother (little nanny) was Irish.
The Red flecks (I like to call them strawberry blond) in my beard make a bit more sense now!
I’ve spoken many many times to my mum about our family and after all these years she’s only just got around to informing me.
growingladFree MemberCheers boy and girls.
I’ve sent her the link to this post so she can take a look and get some good ideas.
Thanks,
GL.growingladFree MemberI think she’ll carry it on. She’s pretty active and fit, likes her sport (plays Hockey at a high level) and does a fair bit of running.
She’s got an MTB and uses that a fair bit, but I think she wants to explore further a field, she’s found herself using the MTB more on the road, so now thinks she’ll get her use out of a road bike.
Actually, thinking about it, she’s not gonna become a full on roady I don’t think, maybe she should look at a cross bike, best of both worlds.
hmmm, something to bear in mind.
growingladFree MemberWe got used to the guinea pigs squeals and my dad said it would do no harm as they were both male but one day the guinea failed to move following a session and it turned out it had had a stroke.
Am I going to hell for laughing so much I nearly spat my raisins out!
One shouldn’t laugh at male rape (or any rape for that matter)…
…But that did appeal to my dark sense of humour!.
